Ice availability at All Stars Music?

Soo....with the fridge kerfuffle going on, my backup plan is to bring a soft-sided cooler which I can crush into my luggage, and fill it with ice every day (We only need to refrigerate milk and juice, the rest of our food will be of the cereal and other non-perishable variety). We're staying at ASMu for the first time, and don't know what the ice situation is. Is it your typical "each building has an ice machine somewhere" thing? Thanks!

Ice machines are located on every floor near the elevators. The only time I've ever had a problem with a machine running out was right before Hurricane Francis hit and we were going into a 24 hour lockdown. But I just had to go up two flights to fill up the bucket. You won't have that problem. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Purely speculation of course, but with the lack of fridges, I'd imagine there'll be a LOT of cooler usage going on, so I have to think that the ice machines aren't going to be able to keep up with the demand. I'd bet that there will likely be a lot of empty ice machines! We're heading to the Poly in 20 days and are flying and using DME, so like you, we'd have to bring a crushable soft-sided cooler just to keep a few things cold. We're (unhappily) planning to go with Plan B and cough up more money for breakfasts since we use QSDP and typically just ate a small breakfast in our room and used our dining credits for lunch and dinner. I'm not counting on those ice machines!

I would not count on ice machines either. In fact I believe that there are posted signs against filling coolers. It is going to be a pain not to have an in room refridgerator.

I would think the value resorts would have the better set ups for the ice machines, as the fridges were only recently added to those rooms. People got by fine with coolers until the last few months, I wouldn't stress about it so much.

I absolutely agree. Fridges at the values are new. I wasn't even expecting it when we were there in April. I've always brought a cooler and never had a problem getting ice.
A word of advice soft sided coolers tend to put out a lot of condensation, either put towels under cooler or keep it in bathtub whenever possible.

I agree. There are plenty of ice machines on Disney property and the chances of all of them being out of ice at the same time are just about none. Maybe your floor might be out but there are stairs and an elevator to go to somewhere else to get some. Plus - once you fill up your cooler, you should be good to go for the rest of the day.

I'm going for Labor Day, staying at Coronado Springs and not worried at all. If I have a fridge, I have a fridge. If I don't, I'll have ice.
