Figment Movie?!?!?

I saw an online movie poster which was supposedly leaked regarding a Figment movie coming out next year...does anyone know if there's any truth to this?

Oh, that would be nice! We need more Figment!

I don't think it's real though. Looks like the guy who created the poster is just a fan/artist. Bummer. :(

- One of the tags is "#concept"

- This quote: "Tweets are my own, and not affiliated with the Walt Disney Company."

It's just an idea poster. Nothing more.

...Though it'd certainly be a much-appreciated film project.

Very well-done on the artist's end...but in all honesty, unless Figment was done the way he was in the original ride and not as the hyperactive troublemaker he currently is, I don't know if I'd want to see that.

Ah too bad not true as another poster said tagged *concept but have to admit this 17 y/o has a lot of talent

Figment has been a favorite since my first trip to Epcot. Unfortunately, the new version of the ride has overwritten my memory of the original. I wish they'd theme it back, because I remember enjoying it more in 1991.

Figment is a great character and they kind of ruined him with the new version. My kids don't enjoy the ride all that much, but enjoy watching video of the old ride. Unless they get more interest form the newer generation, I don't see any new figment projects being done.

You can see the original on You Tube. My son had it on the other day. Not sure where to find.

This. Exactly! Words cannot describe how much I LOVED Figment back then or how much I really can't stand him now... I couldn't believe how they ruined him when I went last year. I hadn't been to the parks in 10+ years and just couldn't wait to go on it with my DH who had never seen it. I had no idea Dream Finder was gone, I just wanted to cry through the whole thing. We came out and my DH was like, um... and WHY do you like that annoying purple creature?

It's listed under the Disney Movie wikipedia page as a movie being considered for release in 2017.

Of course, since anyone can edit wikipedia, take it for what you will.

They also have Finding Dory for 2014, Pirates: Dead Men Tell No Tales for 2014, Zootopia 2016, "Untitled Pixar Film about Dia de los Muertos" 2016, Monsters Inc 3 2018, etc.

Monsters Inc 3????
Well there are a lot of convincing fan made posters on the internet. Remember Walt from Ron Howard and starring Ryan Gosling? Or a rerelease of Tarzan in 3D?

That can't be right if anything it would be monsters inc. 2 because monsters university is a prequal

"Rambo 3" is all I'm saying. Sequels are not always numbered correctly. (No Rambo 2, it was First Blood 2:Rambo, then Rambo 3.) I know not Disney, just an example ... I'm sure they would call it Monsters, <something else>. Third Monsters movie though ... ;)

Exactly- it's simply listed as a third Monsters INC. given that it is 4 years off from a release date, I am sure it will have a different name by then. And again- if it is even actually on the books. It IS Wikipedia I am citing, after all.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Walt_Disney_Pictures_films

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list. Once it passes the 2010-2013 section, it lists all upcoming films. I am sure, given how far ahead it goes, that not all of them will come to be. It also lists them by animated, live action, Pixar, etc.
