Does anyone know how runDisney uses the 10k times for corral placements? If my 10k per minute pace is even a little bit faster than my 1/2 marathon pace should I submit that? I don't know if they add time when it is calculated out to 1/2 marathon distance.

They do add time. It's assumed you won't be able to do the same pace for a 10K and a half marathon. I'm not sure how they calculate it.

I grab and trot thru the water stations. My husband grabs and walks.

I don't stop ever unless it's for the port a potty. Just walk thru the stop, grab the cup and pinch it in the middle and it will make a "lip" for you to drink from.

Ran my first 10k this morning in the rain. I did pretty well (for me) finishing in 1:05:26. The hills about killed me, so I know I need to work on those more ! It ended up being a lot harder than I thought it would be which just tells me that I really need to step up my training. Glad it's over and I now have a time to submit for the Princess :)

That's a great time, congrats!

Finished my 10th 1/2 marathon in 16 months today! Great course, super flat. Majorly bummed, 28 seconds from my PR......ugh! Happy 4th everyone!

Great job! Were you in the same minute as your PR?

I wanted to do the 10k but thought about it too late. I did the 10k in Ridgefield instead. A little hilly but not as bad as I was expecting.

No, just turned to the next minute.... Boo! Just kicking myself, only 2 seconds a mile faster....

That's too bad. I saw the bling for the race, very nice!! I'm always chasing a PR but I have "my pace" and I'm stuck there. I was happy with my 10k today. I started out easy and my second 1/2 was faster. But using the McMillan running website it would calculate to slower than the 1/2 I submitted for proof of time. So I will keep trying.

So hard when you are so close to a PR. I tend to go back over the entire route... like "if only I had not grabbed that cup" maybe my time would have been one second faster. :rotfl2: ONE SECOND? what is wrong with me???

Point is... I think coming 28 seconds close to your PR is awesome!! That is just a couple seconds.. ONLY a couple seconds per mile. I think you still have a victory to celebrate!!

I stopped at mile 3 to take a video and pics of my daughter and sister who were volunteering at a water stop. My daughter told me "I bet you would've pr'ed if you didn't stop!". Doh! But at least I have some cute pics of them :)

That's it for sure!! But probably worth it.

::yes:: I bet that was it. ;) But I agree... probably worth it if you got some cute pics. And... if I wasn't impressed with you enough with your 13 in '13... and your time... and your so near a PR there... you STOPPED to take a PICTURE and VIDEO of daughter and sister?? I can't even hardly think to stop to have someone else take a picture of me when I am running. :rotfl:

Wow! Great effort on the holiday runs!

I just went out and did C25K yesterday. I am on week 5. Here's to a nice long weekend!

I'm also on week 5 of C25K! Tonight's the 20 minute run and I'm both excited and terrified at the prospect of doing it! Lol!

Was it this thread where we had the bra discussion earlier? It was either this, Dumbo or Tink... But since most of us are on all 3, it probably doesn't matter. LOL!

Anyhow, I tried out a new one at my 4-Miler yesterday and thought I'd share my thoughts:) It was the Jill by Skirt Sports (only available for DD's although they do have other styles in smaller sizes). It was highly recommended by one of the ladies at the running store I frequent. Its similar to Moving Comfort's Juno, but doesn't require you to be a contortionist to get it on;) Similar style with velcro adjustable straps, but a wider, more open racerback with 3-hook padded, adjustable closure. It also has lined cups for those who want more modesty (I could honestly care less about that -- I have nipples, get over it. Although it was nice that no one could see which direction they were pointing. :lmao:) and the inner liner is not attached at the top so it doesn't pucker or gap. All in all, I think I liked it as well as my Fiona's as far as support and comfort go. I thought it might rub a bit near my neck since I'm not used to wearing the racerback style, but I had no issues there. I tend to chafe around the band of my Fiona A LOT, especially when its humid - I think maybe because its slightly ribbed:confused3 But had absolutely no chafing issues with this one. Of course, I did lube up pretty good like always, but I didn't feel like I had to re-apply any body glide or vasoline even though it was so humid that I was dripping by mile 2. Overall, I'd say it was a good purchase -- time will tell how well it holds up. The only downside is that I wish they offered this style in the smaller cup sizes. The first one I ordered was a bit big (I have one DD and one D, so its hard to find the perfect size), so I exchanged for a smaller band size. It fits well, but I think a D in my normal band size would have fit better. The C/D style is a convertible strap style -- the straps look more like "normal" bra straps on the back that can be crossed if preferred -- and I just don't think it would give me the support I need.

So, there's my review. Hope it was helpful to someone :)

Oh, and I finished the race in 50:26:) Slower than I had hoped, but not too shabby given the humid conditions and the fact that they ran out of water both on course and at the finish before I arrived at either:/

Congrats on getting so close to a PR in the summer heat! My "easy" pace is a good 30-45 seconds per mile off then in the cooler temps, and prob wouldn't be able to hold my half marathon race pace in a 5k! You'll def kill it in the fall

Thank you so, so much for your review! I'm a DD, and it's HARD to find bras that work for me, so I'll have to look into the Jill - I usually wear the Juno, but I totally agree about having to be a contortionist to get into it!

You're most welcome! I've never actually tried the Juno, but have heard the horror stories. I really wanted to find a racerback one that fit well since its so hard to find running tanks that aren't racerbacks. Compared to my Fiona's, the Jill actually sits a little lower on my back, so I don't have to reach up so far to hook it. Of course, I guess it depends on how much flexibility you have in your shoulders tho -- my roommate can't even hook her normal bras in the back. She says there's no way she'd be able to hook a racer back by herself:lmao: But of course, she has B's and doesn't have such a hard time finding bras with adequate support...
