Best 5 things on your last DCL Cruise

Wonder - 14 night Hawaii Oct 2012

Watching the enjoyment of step-FIL when Mickey, et al, came to our table at the Character Breakfast.

John Charles show.

Tubing the Ditch in Kauai

Palo Brunch.

The. Best. Weather. Ever.

So jealous. Wanna cruise Hawaii sooooo much!!!

Completing my first ever 5k on CASTAWAY CAY

Remy. Mmmmm

Chocolate tasting. Who needs to say more, seriously!? But it was a "new" tasting at the time and the bakery chef came out to ask us ?s about how we liked the tasting.

Late nights and early mornings on the verandah.

Napping on deck 4 as the water goes by.

I was NOT on this cruise, but everyone that I have talked to that was on the cruise "complained" that the weather sucked - at least crossing the Pacific. I guess the weather was better once you reached the islands.:)

Well I have to say that the weather when you get here will be fab. Every day it's "low to mid-80's, with a chance of showers". The tradewinds keep it cool, but it is still gorgeously sunny and rainbows every day!

If Disney does another Hawaii cruise, we just might do it. I know it sounds stupid, but hey, I love the longer cruises and I can actually send the boys to school the day we are on our island! :thumbsup2

Magic, May 10 - 18, 2013, 8 night Galveston to CC, WDW, Key West

1. Finally getting to Castaway Cay for our 1st visit. Loved everything about it!

2. Getting a table to ourselves and the table was in a great location in all 3 MDRs. Also getting the ideal rotation without even requesting it - pirate night in Parrot Cay and formal night in Lumiere's.

3. Winning a very pretty necklace at the Key West shopping talk, on Mother's Day no less!

4. Getting the best cabin hostess (hi Pa!) What a pleasant, friendly, efficient lady.

5. "Free" excursion to WDW. All 3 of us had an incredible day. :)

It was really hard to narrow this to just five.

Dream June 27-30.

1-Sail away party
2-Quite time at Serenity Bay with DH. (the whole weekend was like a honeymoon since the kids went to there clubs and only came back to sleep and dinner.). Which brings me to...
3-Kids clubs. (the twins DS and DD were in the Edge which they made sure I knew was "NO ADULTS ALLOWED". The littlest one was in the Oceaneers Club.)
4-The way everyone treated others. Not just the crew, but everyone was awesome. (the only downer was someone put their used towel on my clothes that were pool side that was just gross.). But we met a lovely family who were vacationing with their grandson to give the kids a break.
1-The Entertainment!!! Wow from the live shows, to the detective game (DH loved that but only got around to doing one.), the funnel vision ( watching classics poolside). They had something for everyone.

It was so nice we'll do it twice...yep we booked on board for another one!!!

Wonder B2B February 21-March 2 Western Caribbean and Bahamas

1. First time at Castaway Cay. Loved every minute, from watching us dock from breakfast in BBB to spending the whole morning in the water- It was perfect.
2. Mladen in Palo. We were there 3 times in 9 days and he did something special for us every time. I knew of him prior to the cruise because I am friends with one of his former Palo crew members who is now an officer. I knew a lot of his secrets, and he told me a few about my friend and he loved to tell us stories that made us laugh!
3. Turtle farm in Grand Cayman. Baby turtles rock! Can't wait to go back in February!
4. Boarding the ship immediately after the first family on the first leg of the B2B, and boarding an hour before anyone else on the second leg. We have some awesome pictures of empty gangways!!
5. This was cruise #3&4 on the Wonder for us, so it was so nice to have crew members remember us. One lovely lady almost spilled her drink tray when she saw us!

Awesome thread!! Really gets me into the OMG I CANNOT WAIT mood! :hyper:

Our first (and only) cruise was on the Fantasy Eastern on 5/5/12.

5. Loved the sail away party when the CM told us to wave goodbye to the land and say "goodbye stress" then wave hello to the open ocean and say "hello vacation!!!" HEAVEN!!
4. 7 days of eye scream
3. DS(4 at the time) walking through Cabanas on the first day and exclaiming "THEY EVEN HAVE MAC AND CHEESE!!!" - he then ate mac and cheese for dinner ALL 7 NIGHTS in the MDRs! Wasn't even going to argue with him, it was his vacation too :)
2. Wine package. Don't mind if I do have another bottle tonight - thanks!
1. Bucket of beer, poolside at Mickey's pool listening to the ipod watching DS play in the pool. It's my "happy place" when the going gets tough.

Wonder July 2-9, 2012 Sea - Alaska

Tracy's Arm One full day of standing out on deck and watching glaciers, Seals and seeing amazing scenery. It was a nice time on deck, everyone was so nice and pointing out the different things. CM passing out hot drinks and characters rooming in their Warm wears.

Juneau - Enchanted Taku Lodge and glacier flight. I would recommend this to anyone. It was fantastic. They know how to take care of you at the Taku lodge and those who wanted to see Bears to got to see them enjoying our Salmon on the BBQ after we ate. First time on a sea plane.

Bingo - Winning Bingo with my daughter. Splitting the Jackpot with another cruiser. $56 and then Winning Jackpot again the next day.. $300

Bingo - Winning Jackpot again the following day $800. Lets just say I had never been this lucky and enjoyed myself. They make this like a party.

Enjoyed the 4th of July without fireworks and having nice cool weather.

I'll play!

SHIP: Wonder
DATE: 4/8-4/13/2013
Destination: 5-Night from Miami Western GC/Cozumel

1. Introduced 2 other families that are friends but practically family to DCL. Both booked on-board for a 7-night Eastern we're all going on next year. One family is going on a 3-night with us in September! The on-board booking guy said we deserved a commission :lmao:.

2. Diving in Cozumel

3. Our Server Carlo. Great guy, even asked if I wanted to go running with him the morning we pulled into Cozumel. Sadly we got in too late to run.

4. Rainforest Room day pass. We enjoyed this far more than we expected. Heard the RR is even better on the newer ships.

5. Exotic Rasul :banana::banana:

Awesome thread!! Really gets me into the OMG I CANNOT WAIT mood! :hyper:

Our DS(7 at the time) ate nothing but mac and cheese at dinner on our first cruise too. We also didn't argue :).

11 Night Christmas Cruise - Magic 12/10

5. Chance meetings in hallways with characters and princesses.

4. Hour every morning when I was the only one in my room up and getting food and coffee from the buffet to enjoy alone on my verandah. Upping from a nav to a plexi next cruise.

3. Finding out Day 2 that we were our 'Room Service Staff Member's Family of the Cruise' and could order warm breakfasts as well as dinners from whatever our rotation was to be sent to the room. DH got the flu mid cruise and was in the room 4 days straight - this was priceless.

2. I loved how peaceful the cruise was. Never seemed crowded though it was a full or nearly full ship. I relaxed!

1. Sail away day was DD's 6th birthday. It is to date the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!

My last two cruises where amazing but my last cruise information is;

Wonder - September 16, 2012 - September 23, 2012

1. First Disney/Pixar Cruise with many opportunities to take pictures with characters not normally on Disney Cruises.
2. Got to meet Disney Pixar Artist get autographs and attend shows with sneak peeks of what is happending next with Pixar.
3. Got to meet Jonh Lasseter again (I met him on the maiden voyage of the Fantasy) and he remember me from out scuba diving excursion in Cozumel.
4. Two nights in San Fransico was amazing. I wish cruises would do this more often.
5. Another opportunity to spend with my favorite server on the Wonder (she has been my server five previous times).

I was NOT on this cruise, but everyone that I have talked to that was on the cruise "complained" that the weather sucked - at least crossing the Pacific. I guess the weather was better once you reached the islands.:)

For the October cruise? Really? We had great weather! I think if people were expecting the Pacific to be like the Caribbean then they didn't do their research. I did and was pleasantly surprised with how sunny and warm our crossing over to the islands was. On the way back it got a little more overcast as we got closer to North America but we still had a great time. My son swam every day except the day before Ensenada. We were on the ship, on vacation. There was plenty to do! It was fantastic and I'd do it again.

This is hilarious!!! These threads pump me up too! I feel like a kid waiting to get out of school for summer. Woohoo!

Our DS(7 at the time) ate nothing but mac and cheese at dinner on our first cruise too. We also didn't argue :).

My DD did the same thing! Both my kids will no longer eat the microwave Mac and cheese. Since our cruise in November, they only want 'Mickey's Boat' Mac and cheese.

Magic, February 2013, 8 night Galveston to CC (although we were unable to dock), WDW, Key West

5. My husband getting picked to come up on stage during the sail away party and he did the pony.
4. When my son played (and won at) Who Wants to be a Mousketeer?. He got to show off his extensive Disney trivia knowledge.
3. During the Pirate party when my daughter suddenly stopped dancing and turned around to me with the biggest smile on her face and threw her arms around me for a huge hug. She was having so much fun!
2. My whole family laughing until our stomachs hurt at the balloon artist comedian.
1. When we tried to dock at Castaway Cay but after the third attempt an announcement came on that said it was a no-go and my husband (the guy who NEVER wants to take vacations and who has to be forced into EVERYTHING) said "I guess we'll have to book another cruise and try again!"

My DD did the same thing! Both my kids will no longer eat the microwave Mac and cheese. Since our cruise in November, they only want 'Mickey's Boat' Mac and cheese.

Thankfully mine aren't that bad! He does look forward to the ship M&C though. Maybe I need to try the M&C on the ship too!
