Can we visit Art of Animation without a room reservation?

Hi. My family and I are staying offsite for this trip and we wanted to visit the Art of Animation resort to check it out and maybe sit in on the drawing classes.

Are we allowed to drive to the resort to check it out? What do we need to say the security at the entrance gate?

Thanks!

You can visit any resort and walk around. I don't know anything about drawing classes at AOA, but Hollywood Studios has a drawing class in the animation building. Any park guest can participate in it. It's a lot of fun.

Animators are in the lobby as I understand it. Cool feature I plan to accomplish in October!

Just tell them what you are doing, and ask where to park. We went over there for lunch at Landscapes of Flavor (I think that's what the foodcourt is called) and to play at their arcade, and it made for a really great couple of hours!

Is this true for anybody staying off-site? We are staying at AoA and we have friends who live in the Orlando area and want to meet up with them. Are we allowed to have them over?

Having a meal at AOA and walking around is definitely ok! They just wouldn't be allowed in the pool..

We visited AoA on our last trip ... we just took the AoA bus from DHS, walked around and checked out the resort for about an hour then hopped on the Epcot bound bus ... We were staying at BC at the time. :thumbsup2

Anyone (regardless of where you are staying) can visit any Disney Resort for any reason (except swimming!). You can visit, eat, check out the grounds, play in the arcade etc... :) It is a great way to window-shop resorts.

We were staying at POR & visited AOA on a non park evening had dinner at Landscapes & walked around checking everything out! We had the surf & surf burger x4 & a build your own salad & it was very good! We loved walking around checking everything out! I say it's worth the trip over & can burn 2 to 3 hours easily!

We have done that at WL as well when we were staying Poly just took boat over.. I love the Summer Lace shop at GF so when we can't stay here we have a meal here & I can still get my fix!

This trip we are staying CR so we will have breakfast at The Poly for Tonga Toast & shop another favorite boutique & wyland galleries!!

We visit another resort at least once e dry trip, it's nice down time & it helps us decide where to stay next!
