I have gotten advice on how to organize an FE Exchange. I would be happy to organize one for our cruise if there is enough interest.

Please PM me with the following info.:

DISboard username, cabin number or GTY, first name of all the people in your cabin, ages of kids in cabin and whether boys (B) or girls (G), any special cruise celebrations

Feel free to give one gift to each cabin, or a gift to each person in the cabin. You can give gifts a few times throughout the cruise or just as many times as you like. Gifts can be homemade or store bought.

Guidelines for our fish extender:

1. Each cabin is to provide AT LEAST one gift to each cabin participating in the fish extender. You can provide a gift to each person within that cabin, just the kids, or one gift for the whole cabin...that is up to you. Of course, you are welcome to give more than one gift...but the minimum is one.

2. All gifts should be delivered by 4pm on Thurs., Aug. 22.

3. You can include a tag with your DISboards user name on the gift if you would like, but it is not required.

Here are some items you may want to bring with you for your exchange:

1. The FE gifts that you are making/preparing.

2. An FE pocket/hanger to hang outside your cabin. You can find them online on ebay, Etsy, or you can make one yourself. Some people use a canvas bag.

3. A zip tie to help attach your FE HANGER. Sometimes they disappear.

4. Scissors to cut the zip tie when you're packing.


I will PM the list of participants after the sign up deadline.

This is my first time organizing this, but if you have any questions I will answer them to the best of my ability.

So far, three cabins have signed up. To PM me, just click on my name in the upper left corner of this box and it will give you choices. You can choose to private message me and then send the info.

If you need my email, let me know and I can give that to you instead. Do you know how to receive PMs? I can send you my email that way if you like.

If you know anyone that would be interested in the FE, have them contact me.

Hi Jeni, I've pm'd you our details for the FE list. Thanks for explaining how to do it! I'm ok with opening messages just not sending them!

I'm afraid I don't know anyone else on our cruise. I've just joined Facebook, and I've looked to see if there's a group for our cruise on there but there doesn't seem to be and I've posted a thread on the DIBB (British version of DISboards) but so far nobody on our cruise has posted.

Not packing exactly but I did print my door magnets tonight.

Sure!
Just browse around on the DISigner threads and people make personalized graphics. You download it to your computer then print it out.
I use magnetic printer paper but you can also use regular paper then laminate it.

DCL doesn't allow any adhesives on the doors at all so magnets are fun & don't leave residue. We put some on our fridge after the cruise too.

I am planning on closing the list on July 22.

I have most of my packing items set aside, but I haven't pulled out all the suitcases yet. My two boys are going away to camp for a week - one in July and one in August - so I have to get them prepared for that first. YIKES!

Sounds like you've got a busy summer of packing and laundry Jeni!

I'm kind of doing the same with packing. I've set up a rail now to start setting aside our cruise clothes and I've got a big bag for bits and bobs that might come in handy that I put aside as and when I come across them but that bag is now full already!

it's all I can think about! My poor husband, I'm driving him crazy I think! My plan for this week is to sort out all the info we need for our Do It Yourself excursions.

We are using Rudy's Touring Service in Rome. He has great reviews and was super easy to communicate with. He was extremely helpful and flexible. The rest of our excursions are going to be through Disney. We have never traveled here before so we thought it best to stick with Disney most of the time.

Good luck with your packing! I think I might be driving my husband a little crazy as well!

Hi

I have a cruise box that I keep dropping things into and it is now overflowing. I keep hiding all the boys nice clothes in there so they don't get ruined before the cruise. I am going out next week to pick up some bits for myself. With my luck the shops will all have their Autumn stuff out!!!!

My boys still have just over three weeks left at school. My oldest is transferring to secondary school in September so we have been busy with leavers stuff. Once that is done, I am going to concentrate on fish extender stuff. I am going to attempt to make it using the Ikea hanging pocket thingy, felt and lots of hot glue. Wish me luck!!


We were going to do all our own excursions as we are used to travelling in Europe (public transport etc.) but I have decided to book three half day Disney trips. The combination of the August heat and my little one in a buggy may be too much for us. This trip is mainly about the ship for us as we have plans to visit Italy as part of a European trip next year.

I'm an ongoing packer too. Was pleasantly surprised with a double discount event at work this week so went out and stocked up on all the pharmacy stuff today.
