Best place to stay for Disney races & why?

Money not being a factor - where do you think the BEST place to stay is and why? Someplace within walking distance to the race? A monorail resort / which one & why? Can't wait to hear ALL your opinions!!

Which race? The bigger races have bus transportation to the start and from the finish. The smaller ones have bus transportation from the official resorts.

It looks like all the resorts will provide transportation to the race. So you could do any of them. If that race starts at Epcot, if you stay at an Epcot resort, you will still have to take a bus to the start if Epcot isn't open before the race starts. And you'd need park admission to go through the park.

The monorail resorts are usually good because the monorail does usually run for the races.

There really is no resort you can walk from to get to the race.

Yep. That's the right answer! For the PHM, all Disney resorts will have transportation and there isn't a way to "walk" to the race. Have fun!

We stayed at the BC for marathon weekend in Jan and will be going back in Jan again. We had no problems with the buses and getting to the start of the races with plenty of time to spare. We have someone in a race each day and they are so organized we had no problems. When DH was running the half marathon we took the bus to the drop off in the Epcot parking lot and then just boarded the monorail and went to the TCC to watch the runners from there and then walked over to the Poly to see them come back out of MK. We repeated the same thing on marathon day so we could see DD run by. As others have stated, for the big races all the resorts provide transportation so you shouldn't have a problem.
