Surprised the kids, wife, and my readers w/ a 2 week trip to AoA!(*NEW* 11-7)

Hello! I am finally here!! It's about time, right? :rotfl:

I can't believe how big Parker is these days! When did our boys grow up!? And Noelle is gorgeous! I am loving this tr of your beautiful family's trip! Can't wait for the rest!

Very relieved to see that Parker got his Mickey Bar! Great job being patient, he deserved it!

I love the nightime Epcot shot, pretty lighting and the hat pictures crack me up. Fun close to the night.

LOL. Then I disappear for 2 weeks.
Great pics of Sugar Ray and of the dancing family.
I love the Donald ride.
The China coke is my favorite.
Nice pic of Parker and you by spaceship earth.
I could go for a Mickey bar right now.
Great updates and pics.

I know people who like Beverly. Blech.

I've been MIA! Trying to catch up on the TRs that I've missed.

I get an unexpected trip this year. I applied for an agent education program last month and was accepted last week! I'll be there in just over 2 months. Woohoo!

First sorry for the long absence, we away on a vacation in north michigan the last week at mackinaw island.

and if you notice a few posts where pics are not showing up anymore that is because that account is over the bandwidth for this month, so in a few days it should reset and you can view them again.

Mexico is our favorite country. So nice and cool in there. Plus, you have the 3 calballeros as you know :goodvibes

Nice photopass pics

Glad Parker was able to get his ice cream treat back at resort :mickeybar

i think mexico is one of my favorites as well, i have always loved it in there.

i was glad he got his ice cream as well...

What a quest and then getting it back at the resort. Parker was patient.

Innoventions closing early makes me :sad1: I have done the same thing several times. :sad2:

My favorite time to do the 3 Caballeros is right after Illuminations on a EMH night. Glad Parker loves it.

I am curious to see what happened the next day...
after being so patient how could i not get it for him.

i think they should leave it open a little later as well, i always enjoy looking around in there....the next day update will hopefully be soon.
:)

Hey, I found your TR recently and have been reading and now I am finally caught up. :)

Reading you TR has been most helpful as we will be going to AoA this fall with 2 four year olds and 2 one year olds. So seeing how your kids handle the park has been incredibly helpful.

We currently have ADRs at T-Rex and I am getting a little nervous. :scared: We are definitely rethinking that one.

But it was cool to see Parker get so into the pressed pennies, now I am thinking we need to take some change.
:welcome: thanks for reading along..your kids will love the resort it is great...and congrats on the trip.

i think it is a toss up where kids who might not normally get scared in there because they love dinos doo, and ones you think would be scared are fine...so i guess maybe keep it and just have a backup plan to eat at one of the other places in DTD if it goes south.

he loved the pressed pennies, and it is a relatively cheap souvenir for them...we just didnt let him do a penny at each machine he had to have a reason for it, like a certain ride he loved and so forth.

Don't you hate it when you decide to get something you've seen everywhere...and suddenly can't find it? Poor Parker - he was a trooper as he waited for his Mickey bar!

As for F&W offerings, I tried the beef in South Africa and the lettuce wrap (South Korea? Now that I'm replying to you I'm drawing a blank). They were both pretty darn tasty! And there were a bunch of others that I would've liked to try, but I was in the same boat as you - we were toting three hot and tired kids along with us that weren't interested in any of it. ;) Glad you two got to try some of the drinks you wanted to, though!

i know i have seen the carts there before, but thought maybe the rain took those carts away that afternoon.

those items did sound good glad you like that beef, it sounded really good.

yep the food and wine could easily be a have someone watch the kids while the adults take there time to sample more and not get hte im bored stop eating lets go looks.

What can I say....I just love this report :)

:welcome: thanks for reading and commenting.
:)

Hey Fauntleroy!

Been out for a while, but I've been catching up as I have time. My son loves 3 Caballeros also!

I am working on a super secret plan for a camping trip the end of next month...any tips on Fort Wilderness for a tent camper? I haven't been there since 1983 and I read your report on the trip you took with your parents...anything to watch out for or really focus on doing?

Thanks for posting the great Trs. I don't know how I'd get through the non Disney parts of my year without y'all. :badpc:
howdy howdy, glad to see you around again.

congrats on the secret camping trip, hmmm, tent camping that time of year, bring a fan or two along with you, i bet it can get hot at night in a tent at the fort...

make time for the pool, the main one by the sing along, and go to a sing along, they are a good time...there is a section of the DIS that has the schedule of what movies are playing after the first of the month. and it takes a little longer to get to parks from the camp ground since you have to get to the front of the campground for all parks except MK, which you have to get to the boat docks if you have an off day, renting a golf cart to go around the campground is fun...but if you are not going to use it much it could be pricey to just do a short trip in.

I'm back and slowly catching up, Dan. Great updates. Love the sombrero hat...Mark would be very proud.
looks like you had fun at the wedding...and im glad you liked the hat pics, was thinking of you when we took them.

Some great family pictures in the latest update! So glad Parker finally got rewarded for his patience! :goodvibes
thanks marv, a patient person gets rewards.:thumbsup2 wonder if that applies to your updates, if we are patient will they be a little bit better quality?

So glad that he got his Mickey bar!
i know after all that searching and patience he really deserved it.

Very relieved to see that Parker got his Mickey Bar! Great job being patient, he deserved it!

I love the nightime Epcot shot, pretty lighting and the hat pictures crack me up. Fun close to the night.
he did very good looking for it, no throwing a fit that we couldnt find it.

despite missing a few samples it was a good end to the evening. thanks.

So the day started out like any other park day for us, we were up around 7:00 got the kids stirring and moving and dressed.

we were out the door by8:00 and ready for the parks, looking good arent we?
DSC07593_zps45f5d02e.jpg

well lets just see where this goes.

made it to MK by 8:30 and had a little time before our 9:00 opening that day.

a normal shot of the train station.
DSC05506_zpsc5b03feb.jpg

and then a panaromic shot of the train station, i think i need to go back a little farther to not cut off the top, but still a good shot.
DSC05508_zps47ae4c05.jpg

and a picture that we plan to take each trip with the kids to see how they grow according to the wall.
DSC05507_zps986a9044.jpg

pretty soon we had the mayor of main street usa come out to greet us.
DSC05511_zps4e7e34fc.jpg

which drew a wave from noelle.
DSC05514_zpsf2f27c5c.jpg

and not long after we heard the sound of the train coming which got a big reaction from parker.
DSC05517_zps19fc15f6.jpg

DSC05519_zpsff5aaa11.jpg

the kids loved seeing mickey and the gang get off the train to open the park for the day.
DSC05525_zps3fa31f92.jpg

soon enough the opening show was done and we were making our way down Main street for the second time this trip and ready for our second day in the MK.

we opted to stop at the bakery to get a treat having never eaten there before we were excited.
DSC07598_zps633aab6a.jpg

the line of course was really long so candi went in to order while i waited with the kids.
DSC05532_zps44f3d34f.jpg

we took up shelter around the corner at the seats outside the ice cream shop to the right side of main street.

it didnt take candi too long to get through the line and soon enough we had this treat in front of us.
DSC05533_zps07fbfb38.jpg

parker said he wasnt hungry and didnt want any? :confused3 he just wanted the apple juice.

noelle she was all game for it. wondering why she was not getting any of the deliciousness.
DSC05534_zps312c119c.jpg

with the little one satisfied with her craving met
DSC05535_zps913d1a25.jpg

thats when it happened.

parker was sitting on the right side of me closest to the wall of the ice cream shop.

yep he threw up.

all it was was the apple juice he had just drank, so didnt make a mess really at all, and the sidewalks were still wet from the morning wash down, so the CM's in the area didnt do anything.

he said he felt better and we had a few crackers with us so he had a few.

and a little more apple juice but not much.

we finished our breakfast and he said he wanted to go on the cars, so we started to head to tomorrow land.

DSC07599_zpsf531e396.jpg

we made it about half way across the bridge on the left hand side there and it happened again, this time a CM was there sweeping up and saw him and said dont worry about anything just head over to the first aid and get checked out.

we did the nurse that was there took his temp with the handy thermometer that just swipped across his forehead, he had no temp, but said he didnt feel the best...so she said if he wanted he could come and sit in the back.

he was all for that so we did.

the misses hates when the kids are sick and was trying her best to give me a smile in this picture.
DSC07600_zps502b6ff0.jpg

the nurse couldnt see anything wrong with him so said he must just be a little dehydrated or something and said to keep drinking a little bit of juice when he can.

she gave us some poweraid to take with us and parker wanted to sit there a little bit longer.

so i took the time to take a few pictures of the art on the wall.
DSC07602_zps73daa4a3.jpg

and here is noelle's support of man up brother we have stuff to do today.

she just pointed at him

DSC07603_zps0a677312.jpg

maybe 10 minutes later. parker said he was feeling fine and wanted to go ride something.

so we told the nurse we were going to head out. she said to just have him keep drinking the power aid and that should help.

so we took off back towards tomorrow land.

there is more of this story to come in the next few chapters, and possible next few days of the trip, so we are not done with it yet...

but I'll give a little recap on my thoughts of what it might have been.

she said dehydrated and i sort of agree with her, the day before in epcot, he didnt eat alot after lunch was over but seemed fine all day long didnt complain about anything, and looking back, we had a water bottle with us, but neither of remember him drinking much that day in the park, it wasnt really that hot out because it rained most of the day on and off while in the park.

which then makes you think that the trip was just catching up to him.

or it could have just been a little bug he had.

so candi would not feel bad, i did tell her that if it was something we did i would take the blame for it but that didnt make her feel any better...

either way the next few days we made it through and still had a good time.

but more on that in the next chapters. needless to say we didnt feel like we were getting any parent of the year awards this part of the trip.

Awww, poor Parker. At least he wasn't feeling too bad and wanted to try to keep pushing on. :thumbsup2

And stop with the bad parenting stuff, kids get sick, have bad days and parents make mistakes. Simple as that. :) You and Candi are far from bad parents, anyone with half a brain could see or know that about you two, and without too much effort I might say!! ::yes::

Hoping the day turned out better for y'all. :thumbsup2

Aw Poor Parker.

Don't beat yourselves up about it. Kids get sick. It happens. it happened on two of our trip. One was so bad, Trent put a bus out of commission and it had to go back to the shop

Poor Parker! There can't be anything worse than being sick while at the happiest place on earth!

Are we going to hear about Mackinac Island? I haven't been there in years, but I wanna know if you biked around the island?

Oh gosh, kids get sick, it happens! Evan has a very sensitive tummy and would sometimes throw up for no apparent reason, it was so frustrating!

Apple juice is pretty high in sugar, if Evan was at all worn down and drank too much too fast it could have made him get sick. Even if he wasn't worn down, or dehydrated. Sometimes we as parents over think those things too.

And yes, sometimes we ALL forget to make sure they drink enough fluids, or reapply sunscreen, or wear a hat. We all move on. Face it, Disney can wear out adults who get dehydrated, have sore or swollen feet or just feel off from eating too many treats too!

I'm a bit more ICK that the Main Street CM didn't clean it up at all since they were right there, wet street or not that surprises me.

Poor Parker not feeling well in Disney is the Pits !!On 1 trip poor Samantha was sick most of the time , she had a fluey type cold . She refused to just stay and rest and most of the time she mad it but we had a few bad times !!We felt so bad for her !!!

and a picture that we plan to take each trip with the kids to see how they grow according to the wall.
DSC05507_zps986a9044.jpg

Oh my word, Noelle is such a little cutie in this picture!

Oh that's awful that Parker got sick. I'm sure it wasn't due to anything you guys did or didn't do...that just happens sometimes. I hope he gets better, but from what you said, it sounds like you had to deal with it for a bit longer. Poor guy.

thanks, but at the moment you feel that is something you did, and wonder what happened. things did end up working out for the most part and we did have a few pluses from the incident that i will share, so not all bad when it happened.

we did get to do some things that we have not before :)

Aw Poor Parker.

Don't beat yourselves up about it. Kids get sick. It happens. it happened on two of our trip. One was so bad, Trent put a bus out of commission and it had to go back to the shop
i dont mean to laugh at that situation but that is something he can be proud of in the future for shutting down a bus.::yes::

Poor Parker! There can't be anything worse than being sick while at the happiest place on earth!

Are we going to hear about Mackinac Island? I haven't been there in years, but I wanna know if you biked around the island?

it does stink knowing what you could be doing but i guess it happens and not every trip can be flawless the entire time.

i hope to have a few things on mackinaw soon, i dont have the pics with me now but hope to next week.

yep we did bike the island around and through it.

I feel so bad for Parker. It is awful to be sick on vacation. Especially, in the Magic Kingdom!

As a mother of two, I am just praying that it isn't a bug! When one of mine gets sick, the other is never far behind. I can understand feeling a little guilty if it is dehydration, but at least that is a easy fix. I really hope the rest of your vacation goes well! :worried:
