Just returned from 10 days at WDW/YC

This is my 5th June in a row at WDW. I am use to the heat and I am use to the crowds. This was the most crowded I have seen the place. We had a great room at YC, which is my favorite hotel. It is our FIRST time NOT staying club level and we didn't miss it one bit ironically enough. I liked the stress free worry of a room since there would be so many more rooms NOT club and we ended up with the most gorgeous view of the lagoon on the the 4th floor. Pixie Dust upgrade to waterview and it was lovely. No one was above us and had quiet neighbors.

Had a few snags with the new tickets but after a few days they worked ok. I think we have all agreed in my family to take a year off next summer. I have to see how this new system is going to shake out. We dined with an Imagineer which was great! Did the BEST behind the scenes tour ever MARCELINE at WDW which DD14 loved. Highlight of her trip so we figure when we got back at age 16 she can do Keys to the Kingdom. Anyone with tweens this tour of Marceline is great!! Behind the scenes of haunted mansion, etc.

I just don't see how 3 fast pass reservations will work for our family or any family really...Soooo many people arriving in the thick of the day wandering around looking for a bank of fast passes?? As if they are all just lined up one after another...

Dinner at Belle's Castle was FANTASTIC. SOOO cool. We all loved it. We did it all, had a blast but after 5 years and with new system, may be on break next year!

Mgr told me this October BC begins complete major rehab, new carpets, furniture, etc. and YC begins following October from that.

Saw the wonderful Teena again!! She is such a gem.....

Glad you had a great trip!!!! I am glad to hear that you didn't miss CL! We had been considering dropping it for our next trip.

It will be over a year until the next trip for my family. We went in April and we won't go back as a family until next August (I am going back in September, but just with my best friend). Sometimes a good break is needed.

That's great to hear about the impending refurb at BC/YC!!! I think our room was in great shape at YC, but the hallway rugs, etc... were not really in great shape.

I think YC is a great resort and look forward to staying there again sometime!

There are plans to roll out a new fast pass system, called fast pass +, which will limit guests to only three fast passes per day, and all the fast passes must be for the same park. It is not yet operational and most likely won't be ready in time for your trip. Here is more information on it:

Glad you had a great trip . We've stayed at the BC and YC is on my list to try. Good to hear about a refurb next fall for YC....maybe that's when we'll give it a try .
