Are we allowed to go to the different resorts and check them out & have dinner at their restaurants without being a resort guest?

We do this all the time at WDW and I'm wondering if it's possible?

We will be going to US IOA for one day on our Aug WDW trip. I would love to check out the resorts (we will have our own car). Is there a way to get to the resort from the park or do we just drive ourselves over there? Will they charge us for parking?

Thanks!

Most definitely! There is a shuttle boat to each hotel or you can easily walk.

Just to let you know that when we were there in April they had a sign posted at the Citywalk boats that only hotel guest are allowed with valid room key. I think they are going to this because people might be riding for fun and leaves paying guest SOL.

parking at the garage will be cheaper.

day guests at the hotels have a $20 parking charge.

all the hotel restaurants are open to anyone, not just the park guests.

Really? I'd never seen that before. Wonder if it is just during peak times?

no, they also use that during some hard ticket events.

they have the same signs up during hhn.
it was in place for the last 4 years of hhn when i was there.

have to show your hotel key in order to get on the boat to return to your hotel.
no hotel key, no admittance.

for those that are leaving the dining places at the hotel, can use the water taxis to return to city walk.

not sure what time period they start to enforce non hotel guests getting to the hotels using the boats for dining purposes.

i'm guessing it could be 11:00 pm and after.

Park your car at the garage and go enjoy the parks. Then you can very easily walk to the resorts to check them out and have a meal.

I saw the same signs in April, but they didn't actually check our keys. Could be because it was mid-afternoon and the boat was 2/3 empty though.

I still maintain that the walk from US to HRH is shorter than walking to the boat landing. I'm lobbying my wife for a return trip so I can count the steps.

At least I'm not crazy, unless you talk to DW.
