2013 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Fun & Friends: Don't Post Here- New Thread Started

I'm confused and am hoping that any fellow BC fans who are also AP holders can help me.
So, we are booked this August with a FD BB offer from last August and with our pkg we have 8 day PH passes. Because DH & I are heading back to the world in October (san children :)), we thought it would be more beneficial to upgrade his tickets and mine to AP's after we get there in August and then buy the TIW card to use for any OOP meals/drinks on the current trip then all our food/drinks in October. Now, I read the sticky ticket thread and thought I had it figured out but now I'm not sure after reading some conflicting information. I thought that once we entered a park (will do that on the first day), we could take our KTTW card to one of the ticket booths, have them remove our tickets from our card (so not to mess up our dining credits), then upgrade just DH & my tickets to AP's. If this is the case, am I paying the difference of what we actually paid for our 8 day PH and the new cost of an AP? or am I paying the difference of we paid for our 8 day PH vs. the new cost of the 8 day PH and the new cost of AP? Does this make sense?

My understanding is once you enter a park with your PH ticket, it will be worth the current gate price. Therefore you would pay the difference between the current gate price of an 8 day PH and your AP.

I remember when they used to have Friday night EMH at TL, nice in August. I think last August they had a morning EMH? But by the time we got there it was half over, long bus wait :sad1:

Have they stopped EMH al together now :confused3

The email didn't specify if it was forever or just in July. But reading between the lines, this goes hand in hand with them cutting back evening EMH hours a parks down to 2 .

Delta changed my flight times yesterday, to a 2.5 hr layover in Atlanta  I had a nice flight leaving MCO at 4:30. But long layover and not getting into Seattle till 10:30pm :sad2: so phoned and had them change my flights, now leaving at 2:30, and getting into Seattle at 8:00pm. With 1.5 hr layover.
sad to be leaving wdw earlier then planned, but will still be able to enjoy my leaving day breakfast at Captains Grille. I'll be the one being dragged kicking and screaming onto the DME.

:rotfl: :cheer2::cheer2:

BB offer will be in your resort info booklet, yes you must book before check out and pay the usual deposit. Offers vary from room discount to free dining. Hard to say what the offer will be in October. When we were there in January 2013, the offer was for room discounts thru 2013. Some date exclusions.

Thanks!:thumbsup2

We arrived home late last night due to a significant flight delay and all I heard in the airport was, "Why couldn't we be waiting at the BC instead of the airport cause then I could still be swimming in SAB."

We had a wonderful time and loved, loved the location of the BC. Both our rooms were on the 2nd floor and near each other. One was an extra large corner room with 3 windows but no balcony of any kind. It had two queens and a day bed and was about a third again bigger than a standard room. The other room had 2 queens, no day bed and a full balcony. That room had the "florida" accessible bathroom but the tub bars were correctly placed for it to work for me.

On Sunday I got the opportunity to meet Teena. She was charming and gracious in person and it was a thrill to actually get to meet her.

... and no PM EMH at AK as well as reducing the number EMH nights at MK.

This must be the year for trying a Disney waterpark! There are a few of us on this thread going to one for the first time here soon. I too have no idea what to expect works for our family but hope for the best!

I just can't wait to do this magical travel with my family. I have a question. How long does it take to go to Downtown disney by Bus ? Is it easy to find ?

Thank you very much !

Does anybody know ?

Yes, easy to find. The bus stop is out front of main resort entrance clearly marked. It is recommended you give yourself an hour to get there if you have ADRs. Unfortunately the DTD bus is shared with all the Epcot resorts so it will take awhile to get there.

Does anybody know ?

Here was one reply, a few posts back.

We have taken the bus from BC to DTD twice, I think it was about a 25-30 minute ride.

The bus to DTD from the BC should be clearly marked and you just wait in the same place you do for the buses to AK and MK.

There are a couple of stops once you get to DTD, so it may help to know where you want to visit so you get off at the right stop

Just heard from Teena- Bob is good to go!!! He will be released today. He has some restrictions for lifting and he can't drive, but they are still on for their trip to Newport Beach in a couple of weeks.

In case anyone is wondering...

Just about 3 weeks from right NOW, my family will be happily checking into the Beach Club.

That is all.

:banana::banana::banana:

Of course I was wondering! DH and I will be checking into YC on the 15th!

The OMG-we-are-under-3-weeks panic set in yesterday....amplified by the "I have no idea what our confirmation #s are for flight, resort and dining because I let DH handle the planning this time" panic.

(and, yes, DH did learn that vacations just don't happen and now realizes and appreciates how much planning/organizing I have done in the past.)

Ill be looking forward to hearing what you thought about it!!!

Does anybody know ?

In the past it usually took us to a waterpark first before heading to DTD. (or was that on the way back to the resort???) Either way, I would suggest giving yourself at least an hour.

It may be easier to grab a cab from BC and back. I know there are a few on this thread that do this.

Enjoy your stay!!

I think I would literally PASS OUT if DH ever planned a trip for us. he wouldn't even know where to start!!

Kudos to you for having a DH "In the Know"!!

Thanks for the reply....that is what I originally thought when I read the sticky thread!

Have a WONDERFUL time :)

ALRIGHT!!!!! Congratulations Amanda. I had followed your resale ROFR saga earlier on the DVC board and knew you were disappointed. Glad you were able to finally seal the deal. We will be at BCV in January so maybe you can stroll through for a hello.

I hope we get to see you!!!

Congrats on becoming DVC members!!!:banana::banana:

I have been begging DH for years. He still won't cave. But I'm not giving up yet!!!!

It took 5 years for me so don't give up! I think being able to buy in at the opening of a new resort, especially when it's as elegant a place as GF, is what sealed the deal.

I'm still giddy with excitement!

I agree with the other response you got.
Once you go through the gate, you will only pay the difference between your AP and the cost of an 8 day PH. We recently did this for my children. My husband was able to buy 5 day PH tickets from West Point (military rate - woohoo!) and then we upgraded them to APs at the guest relations place inside DHS.
