Has anyone out there used this hotel by Port Canveral? We are thinking of RENTING a car at MCO, then drive over to this hotel, park the car at the hotel and then return the car when we return. The price of the rental car is CHEAPER than Disney's shuttle for two adults!

Would love to hear anybody's experience with this!

Thanks!

We have stayed there before and are staying there again in July. However, we do a one way rental from MCO and then return the car at Port Canaveral. You may find it to be cheaper to do this and then get a new rental at the port when you get off the ship.

We didn't rent but we drove down and parked two vehicles there during our 7-day crise in November. No issues whatsoever. The hotel was quite nice with a good continental breakfast in the common room. It is incredibly close to the port. The hotel has a free shuttle if you stay over or a cab can also be had fairly cheap. Enjoy your cruise!

We did exactly that during our cruise in 2009 - the rental stayed parked safely the whole time. we left our GPS and a couple of other items in the trunk and they were fine. The hotel staff told us where to park so they could keep an eye on the car.

This is actually the most popularly used hotel for Diser's cruising.

I used it for years and remember when cruise parking was included for free with the hotel stay.

However, now that my kids are teens and we don't arrive late from WDW just to put our head on a pillow and get a free breakfast, I tried a different hotel further down the road and enjoyed it much more.

We were cruising in April so in Dec or Jan I Used Hotwire for a Cocoa Beach hotel, picked the Super Savings deal with high customer approval and got La Quinta Oceanfront. Free breakfast wifi parking just like CIS but on the water and we parked for the cruise using port park Canaveral $35 for the week.

So much more relaxing and quieter than CIS or Radisson. I think I'm done with them.

How much does Disney charge each person to take them from disneyworld to port carnival?

I am interested of the Cost of the CIS as well. Particularly the cost to park while on the cruise.

We have stayed there every time we sailed on DCL since the hotel was built.

I dont see any benefit to paying for a rental car in their lot though. We rent a minivan from Budget at MCO then drop it off the morning of the cruise.

When the cruise is back we just get another minivan from Budget at the port.

We stayed there for our first Disney Cruise Jan 2013, and we are returning to stay Jan 2014 for our 2nd cruise! Our kids are 4,6, and 9 and loved the kids suite. The staff was very friendly. The free breakfast was decent though the breakfast room was a bit crowded. We had no problems with leaving our car and using their shuttle to get to the port. It is incredibly close to the port and more affordable than other popular hotels that allow you to park and cruise. I recommend it highly. :)

We were at CIS last week for our second time. As others posted, rent the car from Budget at MCO on ground floor and return it at Budget in Port Canaveral. It's walking distance to the hotel and there is a gas station almost beside it. We parked the car at the hotel and dropped it off in the morning and took the budget shuttle to the ship both times we've cruised.

If you stay at LQ (not oceanfront) take advantage of the 40% off port parking promotion. You park AT THE ACTUAL PORT but at 40% off. Rates are the same as AAA rates. You just get a coupon.

A few other hotels participate in this promotion (sponsored by the port) - Days Inn, and Fairfield Inn, are a couple more.

Most also have the "park at the hotel and take a shuttle" rates, which are higher than the standard or AAA rates. I'd rather take the discount and park at the port and not have to deal with shuttles...

Does not make much sense in leaving the rental car for days at the hotel, pay for the higher rate that covers parking and shuttle, plus the unused rental days.

You should look at rates for one way MCO to Port and the same on the way back.
