When does Disney typically open booking for 2014 dates?

You can book now for at least some dates in 2014 if you call (not online) and you book room-only. You'd be booking at the prevailing rate and the rate would be adjusted when the 2014 rates are released.

Conversation I had over chat with a Disney rep today:

Krista: When does booking typically become available for dates later in the following year? Particularly Sept 2014
Dana: Hi there, Krista! You can begin pricing and booking room-only reservations up to 499 days in advance over the phone. As of today, that will be for dates up to September 14, 2014.
Dana: Once our Packages are released for 2014 you may call back and modify your reservation to include Theme Park tickets and a dining plan.

Packages can be booked once the 2014 rates are released.

Now that flights as available for our 2014 dates I can't wait for packages! I think they were released first week of July last year. Anyone remember?

Even if I book a package for 2014 early (as soon as I'm able) I can always change it if I get a pin or a deal comes out, right? I would like to book early so I can go ahead & start paying on it. We are wanting to go the last week of August 2014 & stay at CBR. If I start paying on it early it is just very much less painful for me.

Yes, you can make any changes to an existing reservation as long as what you want/have booked is available under a pin code or other discount. Keep in mind that if you book a package and change to a room only reservation later, the package will have to be cancelled/refunded and the room only booked, as packages and room only are different reservation systems so money paid toward one cannot be applied to the other.

Packages can be booked once the 2014 rates are released.

Just remember that if you book room only you will need to cancel that, get a refund, and then book the package. You can't just call and "add on" tickets and dining to a room only. Learned that the hard way.

The 2014 Walt Disney World® Resort, Disneyland® Resort and Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa are able to be booked on July 10, 2013. This is for travel between January to December 2014.
