Oh the places We Go, The People We see

Wow love the results of how all the girls turned out and I did not know two out of three were celebrating birthdays

Actually all 3 were. I put them all down. Abby had her 3rd b-day in Sept, Claire was coming in Dec and Alexis' was coming in Jan.

I love that they are loving their makeovers! The three of them look so cute! I know how much you love the "bubble hair" lol. I do like the red though. Abby is a trip walking around with that bag! I love that the give a gift that can actually be somewhat useful!

oh yes, the bubble. UGH. I wish they did it like the brochure where it's kind of spikey. It's false advertising. I don't want cotton candy hair, I want spikes! :rotfl2:

so, I'm probably gonna "quote reply" a lot until I catch up, SORRY!:flower3:

I'm glad you had a great Sail Away party time! Looks like it was a fun party.

Kadence liked seeing the pools and slides. She thinks Claire is quite brave to go on the Aqua Duck.

How nice your sister got you a gift for all that you did to get the trip together. You did good!

Thats ok. You were way behind. :rotfl:

The Aquaduck isn't scary, you ride a raft and it isn't super fast.
It does some rabbit type hops and it is fun, but cold water always goes up my backside.
I loved my gift. I still need to put pictures in the photo album thing yet

You steak looked very good, and scallops,Mmmmmm!

Ok, now we want a Micky Bar!

I'd say Jude enjoyed his immensely!

The food was pretty darn good that night.
I could go for a Mickey bar too right now. And yes, Jude really enjoyed them. I am jealous, as they are going on the Fantasy in Sept.

Sweet Pictures!!:cloud9:

Thanks. I really enjoyed getting pictures with the 3 girls together.

LOVE IT!!:thumbsup2 Kadence thinks the dress is Awesome!

Great Job on the door! I love the melted mickey bar the best!

I was happy with the dress too because I knew it wasn't something you would see others wearing.
I loved the melted mickey bar too. This guy I got them from does a great job. I need to get more magnetic paper and start making new ones for the future.

So Funny, because John just said the putt putt just sold him!:rotfl2:

Well that is an important part of a cruise. :rotfl2:

All caught up and the BBB pictures are fabulous.

All three girls look like they had a blast, especially Abby. :rotfl:

I bet that was unexpected. princess:

Hi Pat! They did, and it was unexpected. i did tell Gail at one time that you never know how kids will be at things like this and she may actually do it, but Gail said there was no way she would sit that long, and I had to agree with her. :lmao: I know my BBB years are limited with Claire, so we'll enjoy it while we can. I can't believe how much she has grown. Time is flying so fast.

The girls were so cute, however after the reveal that smile of Abby's was so endearing. She is just so funny & such a stinker!

Claire is growing up so fast, she looks the regular young lady. Her dress was so pretty not the usual princess style. Like you I don't care for the "bubble" thing stuck on the top of their head. I liked Abby's little bun. The spikey style is much better looking.

Thanks for the BBB update, Jen! All three girls look great, but I think Abby takes the crown for being the cutest. Her expressions are just too cute and how she loved the "finished product".
Count me in on the ones who didn't know Alexis and Abby were adopted. They look so much alike and at times even Claire fits in so well. :rotfl2:

Cruising is so much fun. when is your next trip? A little birdie told me you had some pretty dresses being made. ;)

I know. I am just disgusted with this. So many people don't know how it works and will probably just take her word for it.

We at going aug 20-29. I got our pretty dress last week and it is fabulous! I am so excited for v to see it. I have a crapload of customs to make and no clue how they will all get done other than my mom will probable make most f them! I work all summer andill do all the appliquee work but I'm betting my mom will do most of the sewing.

So true. No they are not biological sisters at all. I think Abby has 2 biological siblings though. Her biological parents had given another child up for adoption then kept one and then had her and decided to give her up too. It's kind of crazy, but I am sure glad they did. Gail got both girls the day they were born. They looks quite a bit alike too and they both look very much like Rob. A while back someone told me how much Claire and Alexis look like each other too, only one had brown hair and brwon eyes and the other blonde and blue eyed. I had to laugh, because they kind of do at times.

I got behind, but I wanted to say that I wouldn't have guessed they were adopted, because I do think the girls all have similar features, and I just assumed that Rob's genes were stronger than Gail's!! Clearly, they are suppose to be a family!

It feels great to finally be able to catch back up on some things. First stop? Jen's trip report! :cool1: Slow down a bit so it doesn't run out too soon, ok?

So is that a self-portrait? :)

I'm so glad you got to see the Christmas version! How fun to be surprised like that.

Our last 2 trips we have had to break AK up into 2 mornings and have missed the parade. We saw it in 2010 though and really enjoyed it.

I agree, it sure looks like Abby is loving that parade!

I love that you got the snow coming from the float. I must have missed that, or they must have added it since I don't recall seeing that at all!

We had a really rude photopass photographer at the Santa Goofy spot. Not sure what it is there. I almost always have photos of the character interactions before the actual posed photo. Pulling Abby off of Goofy's leg would have been good to have more shots of.

And why were the PP photographers still hanging out at the IG if they were done for the day? I'm glad you got one though. I LOVE that border of the World Showcase. Next time we get there I'll have to pop over there and get some photos taken there to see what borders they have.

So what did you think of needing jeans at Disney? It takes a lot to get me into long pants there, but I've always said Disney in a sweatshirt is absolutely heavenly!

Claire looked awesome in the Belle skirt set! I'm so glad she got to use it. :goodvibes

You know, I have started to like Cindy's new gown and hair more and more. I do find myself wanting to straighten the hair for her occasionally, and maybe mush down her sleeve...... but overall I do like it better than the old look. When I see photos of the old one now it really does look dated to me.

I'm enjoying seeing Akershus through your eyes. I think our Akershus days are over. I just won't give up the castle, and Katie doesn't care enough to do both.

OK, I could totally forgive you for not loving Illuminations. But Wishes? Oy vey. Not sure what I'm going to do with you. But then I love any fireworks when there's a castle involved!

OK, I'm gonna just post this now before I lose it all. I still have about 10 pages to go though! :scared1:

I SOO wish that we were able to do BBB for my girls- but it will have to wait until our next trip. I'm not going to let Catie watch her sister do it and not get to do it herself- she'd be SO upset!!! :( It would be a BAAAAD day in the Castle- for SURE!:duck:

Abby looked soooooo cute! OMG, you could just see how proud and happy she was with her new do!! And I didn't realize that the girls' hair would be braided under the hairpiece… I guess I assumed they just did the bun no matter what. Good to know!!

I love seeing all the photos of the Beach Club area. Such blue skies, such blue still water. Sigh. I want to be there. :goodvibes

What a bummer for Rob to be sick. I love Disney in December but the risk of illness is so much higher then that it always worries me.

So glad they had the DHS tree up for you! I love that park at Christmas. OK, so who am I kidding. I love ALL the parks at Christmas! :cool1:

I LOVE the magic Sebastian shots. I had no idea they did those so will have to make sure we try it ourselves when we make it back.

I do love your style Jen. You knew just how to handle Starring Rolls. "We're getting one cupcake to share and I'm picking it out". Boom. All crises averted. :lmao: You sound like you know what you're doing!

I had almost forgotten about all your transportation issues on your trip. But it's sure coming back to me now that I'm reading along. That has to be so frustrating.

LOL at the CM's comments about the bus driver.

I hate that feeling of running late and watching the clock when you have no control over things. The first time we did the princess tea party, we did it on the day we checked out. Even with taking a taxi we ran really late and everywhere we went traffic was slow and really backed up. What a relief when we finally got there and could relax and let it all go.

I just love that they finally added Photopass to the tea party. The first few times we went they didn't do that and it was so odd to feel so left out of the whole thing. I think they finally had Photopass the last time we went in 2010.

Smart move to take things into your own hands and take a taxi back to DHS. Sometimes you just need to feel like you are controlling your own destiny. I do recall taking a bus to DHS once from Pop when we were running late. And I recall being dropped in the middle of the street like that. Very odd!

I'm loving both of these photos! There's just something so silly about hanging out with a 4 year old!

Alexis was trying to steal my dessert as I took a picture of it.

I also love the shot of the girls on the suitcases. It looks like they had SO much fun together!

YEAH for not having to wait long for your boat on the way out of DHS!

Too funny that you remembered your waitress from years before. And to have a similar problem again is just awful. Sounds like Susan needs some remedial training. I don't have that problem because I never attach a credit card to my room. I just don't want any room for error. They can actually charge your meal to credits, and let you pay the tip with a credit card right at the table. But I usually pay cash for my tips.

Katie would have LOVED sitting in that big chair. Probably because it looks like a throne! :lmao:

I LOVE that shell frame in the lobby of the Beach Club. I might have to try making something like that myself. I think I know where I might find a few shells.......

So what is it about the swimming? They all beg to swim don't they? Doesn't matter whether there are the best attractions in the world in the parks. Given a choice, I think they would all choose the pool. Sigh. At least you guys got to squeeze it all in!

LOL at having a photo of the boat you MISSED the next morning. Just to relive the experience when you got home later? :rotfl:

I think I've only seen Mr. Potatohead once too. I like TSMM but am not crazy over it, so mostly only do it with FP.

I think Claire's Star Wars shots turned out great. So glad you made her do that. I sure wish we could have done that when the boys were little. There were years when Star Wars was as big a deal at our house as Disney is (well, was.....) at our house over the past few years.

I tried to talk Katie into Beaches and Cream on this past trip, but she didn't go for it. I'm TOTALLY showing her pictures of your "lunch". What a great vacation idea!

I don't blame Rob one bit for pushing it and going along to the MK. NO way would you have kept me from seeing my child's first sight of the castle. :goodvibes

Remind me NEVER to show photos of that Marriott pool to Katie. We'd never get to stay onsite again!

Ahhh..... love the shot of you between the soldiers with the castle in the background. I keep forgetting the tree doesn't go up until later. I sure wish we could get there earlier for that photo op sometime.

You did an awesome job with the shots in BBB. That's a really tough location with low light and challenging white balance.

The girls look adorable. Too funny that Abby all of a sudden HAD to have mouse ears..... after not wanting anything in her hair. They sure keep us guessing, don't they?

Claire's dress was PERFECT for the season!

I'm laughing right out loud at the thought of Abby licking the shield! :rotfl: I sure miss the silly stage.

I love the way Gail is laughing at Abby!

You know I love that shot. I dare anyone not to laugh when they see it! :lmao:

I do love the choice of red for Alexis with her Ariel costume. And too funny that Claire had to do the same thing. Katie and McKenna did that when they went to the boutique together each time.

Strange that the crowns were there. When we were there in December they were gone. Nobody really would explain either. Has anyone been since December and know if they re back?

I was waiting with baited breath to see if Abby would smile at her reveal. How fun it must have been to see her break into a big grin!

So glad Claire liked hers too. She looks great as a redhead. Her mom has purple hair, so maybe some day she'll go red for real??????

And with that, I declare myself all caught back up!

party:

LOVED all the BBB pics-thanks for sharing! I literally LOL'd at Abby's. They all made me smile. All 3 of them wee gorgeous!

I know Claire is growing like a weed. Several people have told me how grown up she looks, but I am ignoring them. LOL
Yeah the bubble isn't my favorite at all, but I'm not wearing it either, and she is happy about it.

:rotfl2:

It's taken me awhile to get them edited and uploaded in some sort of an order. There is a heck of a lot of photos.
I loved watching her reaction to the reveal, we almost thought she might turn to tears the way she was looking at first, then she realized it was really her and she looked just like cinderella.
Alexis and Abby do look a lot alike. They were meant to be part of our family and we are happy to have them.

I bet you can't wait to go. I can't wait to see some pictures of your dress. I wish I was talented enough to do customs, just at least for Claire. I don't go crazy with spending like some do, but I have spent enough, but they are so worth it when the child is happy and great pictures.

I got behind, but I wanted to say that I wouldn't have guessed they were adopted, because I do think the girls all have similar features, and I just assumed that Rob's genes were stronger than Gail's!! Clearly, they are suppose to be a family!

They do have similar features and they do look a lot like Rob. Gail said she has vacationed before and people will randomly tell her how much the girls look like their Dad. LOL
My son looks nothing like me at all but actually kind of looks more like my one friend. One time when he was a baby she was babysitting him and she took him out on errands with her and she said a lady commented on how much he looked liked her and he had her same eyes and she said thank you. :rotfl: And he does have her eyes. All my kids got nice eyes and I am so happy as mine are pretty boring. They all have nice long eyelashes and both Claire and Paige have beautiful colors of blue. Michael has lashes that most girls would kill for.

Replies in red ....

It feels great to finally be able to catch back up on some things. First stop? Jen's trip report! :cool1: Slow down a bit so it doesn't run out too soon, ok?

I did slow down the past week while I edited the massive amounts of BBB photos and also with all the stuff going on over the past week or so. I am very behind on a lot of reports once again though.

So is that a self-portrait? :)

I noticed that too. :rotfl:

I'm so glad you got to see the Christmas version! How fun to be surprised like that.

I was so excited. I like the other version better, but at least I have another thing off my bucket list and it was a fun parade.

Our last 2 trips we have had to break AK up into 2 mornings and have missed the parade. We saw it in 2010 though and really enjoyed it.

I agree, it sure looks like Abby is loving that parade!

Abby was very excited about the parade. It reminded me how excited Claire used to get when she was that age.

I know. I don't know if they were grumpy or what, but i don't get why they didn't take any interaction type photos. I know if I was a photographer I would try to take so many and make it worth it to the family. I think that would be a fun part of the job.

And why were the PP photographers still hanging out at the IG if they were done for the day? I'm glad you got one though. I LOVE that border of the World Showcase. Next time we get there I'll have to pop over there and get some photos taken there to see what borders they have.

I know. Supposedly they were taking the last photos of the day and we just kept walking up to everyone who was doing that. My thinking is that if people are still wanting photos they should stay and take more or get another photographer there. I did like a lot of the borders from this trip. Some were exclusive to food and wine festival.

So what did you think of needing jeans at Disney? It takes a lot to get me into long pants there, but I've always said Disney in a sweatshirt is absolutely heavenly!

I am not a fan of wearing jeans there, but that night it worked out good. It was really chilly that night. Tim was wearing shorts and I would've been freezing. I usually can hang with just a sweatshirt and shorts too. WE have only had a couple of times where it got could enough for jeans and I don't like that at all. I like it comfy in the day with a sweatshirt for evenings.

Claire looked awesome in the Belle skirt set! I'm so glad she got to use it. :goodvibes

We were so happy you let us borrow it and many other outfits.

You know, I have started to like Cindy's new gown and hair more and more. I do find myself wanting to straighten the hair for her occasionally, and maybe mush down her sleeve...... but overall I do like it better than the old look. When I see photos of the old one now it really does look dated to me.

I liked the hair right off the bat, but the dress is growing on my too.

I'm enjoying seeing Akershus through your eyes. I think our Akershus days are over. I just won't give up the castle, and Katie doesn't care enough to do both.

We had a nice time that night. It was nice just being the 2 of us too after so many big family meals. We enjoyed those too, but sometimes it's just nice to be the 2 of us.

:scared1:

I don't know why, but both are nice, but just not a huge thing I have to see. I think because we have had good luck with getting on rides while it is on in the past. And once we saw wishes while riding Splash Mountain and that was pretty cool.

I totally understand that. you don't want to ruin a trip over 40 minutes of fun for one girl. :rotfl: Yes they braid them and tuck it under i guess. I can't remember how it actually works, but somehow they attach the hairpiece onto the braid too.

Replies in red

I love seeing all the photos of the Beach Club area. Such blue skies, such blue still water. Sigh. I want to be there. :goodvibes

I want to be there again.

What a bummer for Rob to be sick. I love Disney in December but the risk of illness is so much higher then that it always worries me.

I felt so bad for him. He can be a wimp at times, you know like most men, but he really was sick.

So glad they had the DHS tree up for you! I love that park at Christmas. OK, so who am I kidding. I love ALL the parks at Christmas! :cool1:

i was happy to see the trees this trip. It really makes me want to do all trips in the x-mas season. It's got such a fun feeling. I WILL get back in the winter. I had thought about trying to convince Skip to go this Dec for Claire's b-day, but I am not sure it will work out that way. I want to go and do something before (though I don't know for sure what yet) then and if I do, I am sure he won't be agreeing to a Dec. trip.

I LOVE the magic Sebastian shots. I had no idea they did those so will have to make sure we try it ourselves when we make it back.

i had never seen them before and so many people have told me they have never seen them either.

I do love your style Jen. You knew just how to handle Starring Rolls. "We're getting one cupcake to share and I'm picking it out". Boom. All crises averted. :lmao: You sound like you know what you're doing!

Well I could see 3 different cupcakes picked out and half of 3 cupcakes getting thrown away. The one was a perfect size for all 3 of us. If you didn't like it then you just lose out. LOL

I had almost forgotten about all your transportation issues on your trip. But it's sure coming back to me now that I'm reading along. That has to be so frustrating.

LOL at the CM's comments about the bus driver.

Yes, we did not have good transportation mojo this trip. I did buy myself a reward later in the trip. I felt I suffered so much I needed this prize. LOL
That bus driver was horrid.

I hate that feeling too. I swear time speeds up during times like that.

I just love that they finally added Photopass to the tea party. The first few times we went they didn't do that and it was so odd to feel so left out of the whole thing. I think they finally had Photopass the last time we went in 2010.

We did it in 2009 and they hadn't added it yet. i think yours was the first TR i read that had pictures from it. I really like that much better.

Smart move to take things into your own hands and take a taxi back to DHS. Sometimes you just need to feel like you are controlling your own destiny. I do recall taking a bus to DHS once from Pop when we were running late. And I recall being dropped in the middle of the street like that. Very odd!

Claire thought we should take a taxi every time we went somewhere after that. She liked how fast it went, but of course she wasn't paying.

I'm loving both of these photos! There's just something so silly about hanging out with a 4 year old!

I love when Abby just breaks out laughing at things. They are so cute. And Alexis still wanted my dessert, even though she was eating a nice treat already.

I also love the shot of the girls on the suitcases. It looks like they had SO much fun together!

I liked that one too.

YEAH for not having to wait long for your boat on the way out of DHS!

Too funny that you remembered your waitress from years before. And to have a similar problem again is just awful. Sounds like Susan needs some remedial training. They can actually charge your meal to credits, and let you pay the tip with a credit card right at the table. But I usually pay cash for my tips.

She was an awful waitress. I think we actually had her when we were at AEP as well, but we had like 2 or 3 serving us, so it wasn't such an issue then. And we didn't have to settle the bill as that was taken care of by the conference.

Katie would have LOVED sitting in that big chair. Probably because it looks like a throne! :lmao:

LOL.

I LOVE that shell frame in the lobby of the Beach Club. I might have to try making something like that myself. I think I know where I might find a few shells.......

I think in a few years we will have a bunch to do something like that too. I was cleaning my room yesterday and found a shell stash and I don't want to throw them away, but what the heck can I do with them that is clever?

So what is it about the swimming? They all beg to swim don't they? Doesn't matter whether there are the best attractions in the world in the parks. Given a choice, I think they would all choose the pool. Sigh. At least you guys got to squeeze it all in!

Swimming is a big hit. We were talking about our trip next year with my parents today and Claire asked how much swimming time we would have. LOL. Well none if it were up to me, but I know she will love it. I really don't know how we will fit in all I want to do in a week.

LOL at having a photo of the boat you MISSED the next morning. Just to relive the experience when you got home later? :rotfl:

I think I've only seen Mr. Potatohead once too. I like TSMM but am not crazy over it, so mostly only do it with FP.

Claire is obsessed with that ride. I think it's fun, but not worth the wait at all.

I think Claire's Star Wars shots turned out great. So glad you made her do that. I sure wish we could have done that when the boys were little. There were years when Star Wars was as big a deal at our house as Disney is (well, was.....) at our house over the past few years.

Claire has a friend who really is into star wars, so maybe next year she will be more willing.

I tried to talk Katie into Beaches and Cream on this past trip, but she didn't go for it. I'm TOTALLY showing her pictures of your "lunch". What a great vacation idea!

Tell her thats her lunch...a big hit with kids. Well i liked it too. ;)

I don't blame Rob one bit for pushing it and going along to the MK. NO way would you have kept me from seeing my child's first sight of the castle. :goodvibes

I was glad he was well enough to make it. I know he wasn't still feeling good, but he made it through most of the day.

Remind me NEVER to show photos of that Marriott pool to Katie. We'd never get to stay onsite again!

The Marriott we are staying at next year has a similar type of pool from what I have seen in photos. Claire may never want to go to a park. LOL

Ahhh..... love the shot of you between the soldiers with the castle in the background. I keep forgetting the tree doesn't go up until later. I sure wish we could get there earlier for that photo op sometime.

Thanks. I forgot that they do add a tree. LOL

You did an awesome job with the shots in BBB. That's a really tough location with low light and challenging white balance.

I'll tell you, it's horrible to edit. i did some with flash and some without and it's hard with either as the flash ones reflect off the mirrors and the non flash are grainy and no matter what it's impossible to get a good white balance.

The girls look adorable. Too funny that Abby all of a sudden HAD to have mouse ears..... after not wanting anything in her hair. They sure keep us guessing, don't they?

She is always full of surprises.

Claire's dress was PERFECT for the season!

I thought so too. it was like a winter princess look.

I'm laughing right out loud at the thought of Abby licking the shield! :rotfl: I sure miss the silly stage.

I love the way Gail is laughing at Abby!

Abby was pretty gross. Gail was totally cracking up over the things she was doing.

You know I love that shot. I dare anyone not to laugh when they see it! :lmao:

It's my all time favorite.

I don't know if they talked before, or if Claire was watching everything Alexis was doing. It shocked me a bit she changed her choice.

I didn't know the crowns were gone now, but I don't think I have read a recent TR about BBB lately

I was waiting with baited breath to see if Abby would smile at her reveal. How fun it must have been to see her break into a big grin!

She did. it was so cute, because it took her a bit to think it over and I guess realize it was her.

So glad Claire liked hers too. She looks great as a redhead. Her mom has purple hair, so maybe some day she'll go red for real??????

She just might. I am actually thinking of toning it down more, but of course if i do it, I will miss it and go right back to it. I would love to find a good eggplant color. Matrix used to make one and it was awesome and then they discontinued it. I have looked for like 7 years now and haven't found anything close.

And with that, I declare myself all caught back up!

party:

Yay! you were on a mission. now I can continue on then right? :thumbsup2 Ok, I need to edit first before I can do it. I am actually thinking of starting my Williamsburg report too. I have the first travel day edited and actually written and then I have the next two full days worth of pictures edited. if i go slowly with it, I can write here and there and not feel stressed. I'll let you know if I take the plunge.

Love the BBB reveal pictures, all the girls looked so good! Love seeing the sequence of when they see themselves for the first time, so cute!

Another lighthouse shot.

I LOVE all of your pictures, the blue water is calling me, but the Lighthouse pictures I think are my favorite. In my inner decorator dreams, I'd like to have a beachy, lighthouse, theme house. Of course with a huge beach in my back yard with nice comfy chairs to just sit and relax with my millions of dollars.....:lmao:

I got adventurous and tried sushi.

Let’s just say …yuck, gross, and never again! It was just nasty. I don’t know if you are supposed to eat the black thing around the edge, but I did, and blahhhhh! The rice was no better either. Dry and sticky and not tasty at all. Maybe this is not the best spot to try it, but it will be a long time before I decide to give it a try again.

YUCK!!! You couldn't have paid me to try it. Sammy eats it and says it's good, but then she's weird so.....:confused3

Great BBB posts Jen :goodvibes :thumbsup2 So adorable!

Looking forward to taking my Kira there for her first time in October :cool1:

“Aunt Bop Bop, I said NO pictures!”

And then one got too close!

Abby was NOT having any of that! And soon we heard an announcement …”Do not touch the flamingoes!”

Look at the look she is giving them now. And Jude is starting to get slightly freaked as well.

OK, buddy, I told you NOT to come by me!

And then Abby grabbed that guy by his neck and gave him a HUGE shove! Oh my Word. I felt bad for the flamingo, but it was so hilarious! We were dying with laughter and we talk about it ALL the time. That flamingo probably told his buddies that he has been marching for 30 years and NO ONE has ever grabbed him by the neck before.

No pictures!:rotfl2: She's adorable!

I remember you telling me about this, and that is funny! I bet the flamingo was a bit people shy after that!

Claire looked like she was laughing at the kids! LOL
