I just booked us here for 9/4-9/10 in a king garden view-how did you guys request a specific bldg? We are in the mansion section.

Would like a nice view but kind of close to things too.

You can call and have a request or two added to your reservation. It is then a note attached to the reservation. It is good to also fax a request a few days before arriving. The requests should be in order by importance. They are only requests so they may not be met, but they usually try to meet some. For example, in order of importance:
Alligator Bayou
Building 26
Corner room
1st floor

We just finished our three night stay in the RGR and are in Oak Manor. I was surprised by how large this resort is! It is very pretty and I wish I had time to walk it. I wish I could have taken a carriage ride as well. I ordered a large pizza and took it back to my room last night.

We had no real issues with the buses. We were lucky and never waited more than 3 minutes for a bus except coming back after the fireworks last night took a few minutes to wait. We did have to stand twice but usually we got a seat and we were the third stop at POR.

The resort is very quiet.

10 minutes should easily get you there!

Yes, the doors are pretty heavy (and on quite strong closure springs too). They do have an internal security catch, but any ingenious 3 year old would probably be able to work that out pretty quickly as its main purpose is to prevent entry from the outside (that and to make the door bang very loudly if you let it slam onto it). There is also a rotary locking knob. If nothing else, that'll all slow her down a bit...

Thank you all for the replies. It sounds like this may be the first time ever that I don't have to bring shampoo & conditioner for my family. We do not like the combo stuff, so I'm a happy lady now.

Just returned yesterday from POR. We had a wonderful trip. I faxed my requests a week before we arrived and all my requests were honored. We were in bldg 16 which was great. The resort was so wonderful. So relaxing. We tried both the quiet pool and main pool. The kids loved the slide. the only thing we didn't like was Boatwrights. We ate there last year and liked it so we thought we'd go again. The food was good but the service was awful. So next year we will not be dining there again. We plan to go back to December 2014. 18 months away and already starting to plan the next trip.

If you want to be in the mansion section, I would not specify a building. You will either be in Acadian House or Magnolia Terrace and both are wonderful locations.

I would specify a floor preference. We choose first floor, since we have the car this year and wanted quick access to the pool. We are in Magnolia Terrace in 8611, so we are facing the back of the building and have quick access to the car and we are very close to the quiet pool. Wonderful location.

Hi. Not sure if I am doing this right on the DISboards. Thank you for your info. Our Family has been to POR quite often and I agree about Boatwrights. We have a quick serv dining plan with an added reservation at Le Cellier. We are going on July 21-27. Just added a day so we could take advantage of EMH at MK on Sunday.

You will love DW at Christmas!! We were there Christmas 2011. Take some time to see Christmas decorations at other resorts. They are really beautiful! You will have a Magical Christmas!

Are these sections only with king beds?

We've been to POR but always in AB since we were 5, but this trip we might end up only 4, would like it to try a new section!!!
