~~**The Official January 2014 Group**~~

For those of you who have already made reservations for Disney in January, how did you go about doing it? Did you just call Disney? Or did you book through a travel agent?

We're planning on going Jan 12 through the 18th and staying at the Polynesian. Our daughter will be 4, so we figured we might as well splurge for a big vacation before school starts and we're stuck on their schedules.

Anyway, I've been waiting for them to publish the 2014 rates so I can make the reservations online, but I'm impatient. Just wondering if I should just call them and get it scheduled so I can stop thinking I'll miss out.

We made our reservations awhile ago for January and just called Disney directly. We felt the same way - could not wait to book! ;)

We used dvc points renting them thru davids. Mostly because i was too anxious to wait for the rates. We also called disney and got the prices, and compared them to the cost of renting.

I just ordered our tickets. Our charter airline company(Canadian) out here was still offering the old pricing plus we could use airmiles to significantly reduce the cost of a hopper with waterpark and more option.

However I am confused as to what offsite means.

Does anyone have an answer?

Onsite - Disney hotel
Offsite... Non Disney property/ hotel.

Remember if you book separately ie: tickets...
should free dining come available and you are staying onsight you can't add the free dining to your reservation.

We have been doing to Disney for many years and have never missed out on anything we wanted by waiting until the rates come out online in August.
We do however reserve our table service meals at the 180 mark. We just link them to our reservation once it's made.
I always deal with Disney directly . If you use a travel agent you have to go through them and can't call Disney yourself after your reservation is made. .it's a pain if you want to make a change or want an answer right away.

Can anyone tell me when park hours for jan will be released?

They released Jan 2013 around June 18th last year. I would expect it to be around the same this year, but we all know Disney likes to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Just sent a request to join the FB group. Pretty sure we are going to try and plan Jan 2014 just not totally sure on dates yet--most likely the first week after New years! We JUST got back from a week at POFQ last Sunday and I am already itching to go back!!

Hi all, just booked Beach Club Villas for the 4-9 January :cheer2:. Hoping that it is warm enough to be in the pools! Booked airfare down today just have to wait to buy airfare BACK when it goes on sale!

Have a friend coming and looking to book at Pop but worried as Disney is only talking room, and i know if they only book room they won't get free dining when/if it happens so making her hold out a bit

To the above poster- not sure if you have seen it this week but if Southwest Airlines is in your area they have been having an airfare sale all week.

When will January 2014 package pricing be released? Looking at Jan 4-11...

During the past week my husband and I have started discussing the possibility of a January 2014 trip. We're currently looking at Jan. 15-20 or Jan. 18-23. I know it is MLK weekend, but I am a teacher and need to work in an extra day off. We would also be celebrating our oldest daughter's 5th birthday.

With all of that, what can you all tell me about that time of year? I know it will be a little more crowded due to the holiday, but I still think it will be better than spring break. Josh's new post here http://www.easywdw.com/news/january-2014-disney-world-operating-schedule-available/ makes me nervous. I am also worried about the weather. Some things I have read people say it is really cold then. We went Wed-Mon over Labor Day this past year during free dining, so that is my latest comparison. Any advice/tips?

We were there last year the week before MLK (during the Marathon). Weather was 80 degrees and sunny all week! Very few lines. Perfect time so we are returning Jan 2014!

We will be heading to Disney January 10 - January 17 with my parents, my sisters and their families. This will be the first time for the majority of them....I can't wait :hyper:!

My boyfriend and I will be there the 8th through 14th! Staying at CSR most likely :) and running the half marathon too!
