Got back a few days ago and wanted to share a little about our visit. We did not visit the food court so I can't comment on it.

Bus service was good both to and from the parks. We did am emh each day. Those MK buses really start running early because of all the breakfast people that need early transportation!

Our AC was a little weak, so we asked to maintenance to allow our thermostat to be set a little lower and the guy punched a few buttons in a special sequence and that allowed things to cool down.

All the bus drivers were friendly and so were the other guests!

Our room was clean, and was serviced each day. The fridge seemed a bit smaller than I remember from last time and is easily overwhelmed if you fill it full of warm sodas. We pre-chilled them in a cooler with ice and then moved them over to the fridge. We were able to place a 1/2 gallon jug of milk in it after we removed one of the shelves.

We stopped by the concierge each day and picked up extra full size towels when we got off the bus each afternoon.

Overall we had a nice visit and will continue to do so as long as the promotions are good.

For those of you visiting this summer........................enjoy!

One more thing--we loved the RFID room keys. You can open the door with your hands full of other stuff as long as you place the key close to the sensor. My DH was simply able to place his wallet on the sensor and the door would unlock. We also liked the RFID park passes. They seem to give you a green light faster that the old style.

Well just wanted to give a quick review of our stay. Life got in the way since we have been back so its a little late. We checked in on the 24th of May. Me and the kids went up early and DH joined us after he got off work. We got 2 pepperoni pizzas and ate by the pool while we watched the movie Bolt. Then we went up to the room got settled for bed and waited for daddy. The next day we went swimming for quite awhile. We had breakfast at the food court it was nice. Kids went swimming for so long we decided to have an early dinner. Took the bus to DTD and ate at T Rex. We then went over to Beach Club to have dessert at Beaches and Cream. That was yummy. Got lost on the way back to POP but we made it. :) The next day we spent all day at MK. Then Monday we slept in as late as we could and checked out. First time every staying on site and we loved it. DH said I converted him. We can never stay off site again. YAY my plan worked. We had a great experience. Love the RFID cards. Can't wait to go back in Sept with my 7 yr old DD for NOJ weekend.

We were poolside the same night...swimming, eating pizza, and watching Bolt...LOL!

We checked into Pop early this morning and got both our requests (50s, ground floor)! That never happens, haha! We did some swimming in a nearly empty pool, awesome! :cool1:

We just got back a few days ago and found this to be the case as well. In the past, setting it at about 68 got the room plenty cold, but it just wasn't cutting it this time. I stopped by the Front Desk on our way out for the day and by the time we got back it was turned down to 65, where it stayed for the rest of the week.

We also found that one of the lights above our sink had gone out. We didn't even have to say anything about it - apparently housekeeping had opened a ticket and someone from maintenance came over and took care of it.

Same here :goodvibes Looking forward to checking out the new menu for ourselves.

Thanks Kelly. Will check it against the menu that I posted in the Faq thread last month. I will also add this one as well to the dining post. Thanks a bunch! :goodvibes

Hi Sandi! I agree with you! Although some favs are gone, the new offerings do look good. There is always a "working out the kinks" phase. :flower3:

No problem. :) I see some new things that sound good to me as well. I had the pot roast at POFQ a few years back and it was really good. If this is the same I will be excited. :yay:

Have never stayed here, but it looks pretty inviting especially if you have children. I know many of the things I see in the pictures appeal to me as they are things from my childhood.

Since you are there now is there any way you could confirm if the breakfast pizza is still on the menu. :) Keep getting different I info from multiple sites. TIA. :)

Stitchlovestink, thank goodness you discovered the room issue In advance of the trip. Fingers crossed that having the RA call you in a positive sign - maybe upgrade? :) hope so! Let us know :)

Btw .. You aren't losing it ... we all forget things ... Heck I've gone upstairs for something and forgotten why when I've reached the top

Checked into POP last night. Ended up in a preferred room but I had booked standard. Got both of my requests which were 50's (I requested 50's or 60's) and ground floor. Waa Hoo!! Made another new friend!! One of the front desk managers that was checking me in (there were 2 working on it since there had been SO many problems with my reservation this time and it being a CM ressie). The mgr took over my checkin because of some booking mistake that was made. Anyway, I told them the story of how I called to make a change only to find out my ressie was cancelled. And they could even see the deposit returned to my credit card! And how when DD & I were trying to rebook it, I got disconnected THREE times and the third time was the end of the night. and then the next day, they wouldn't do it because they couldn't get ahold of my daughter (because she is the CM) I was literally ready to CRY. Anyway, he has seen me there multiple other times this year and he gave me the number to call him directly at the hotel if I ever have any problems again!!! YES!! No call center for me if there's a problem!
The pair of managers were very pleasant and couldn't have been more accommodating! I was really very nervous that this was going to be a nightmare check in and it wasn't! Not at all!!
BTW...the hotel is at about 60% right now according to the manager that checked me in.
Buses were good today...not crowded at all! Food court was fairly empty.
Can't say much for the new menu as I didn't really look at it closely yet. I was lucky enough to get one of my old favorites... a cheesesteak wrap. This is long gone off of the menu. But one of my friends made one for me as a 'special order'. We decided to keep the dining plan so we have TONS of CS credits. I suspect we will sample a few things here.
Oh, YEAH! DD (the one that is a CM) she sampled the Southwest burger while she was waiting for us to arrive. and she thought it was pretty good! (should I mention that it was the creation of my friend? ;))
I did eat some of the homemade potato chips. He gave them to us warm and I thought they were actually quite tasty!

If anybody has any questions or wants anything checked out...let me know, I'm here thru next Wednesday! :cool1:

Welcome back!! :flower3: It’s gratifying to read that your trip went fairly smoothly, and that you experienced great CM interaction and bus service that we all know so well. :goodvibes Good to read about the positive response on the AC issue. Looking forward myself to experiencing the RFID feature at POP. :goodvibes

:goodvibes when DD and I are there it will be hard to choose....we will have a plan and will each get something different at every meal so we can taste more in the time we are there... ::yes:: only wish we could be there as long as you!

Have never stayed here, but it looks pretty inviting especially if you have children. I know many of the things I see in the pictures appeal to me as they are things from my childhood.

With or without kids, it's fun for all (as much as one wants it to be). :hippie: we love the nostalgia factor... and POP has some great shadow boxes in the lobby for a trip down memory lane...:goodvibes

Yeah! It's finally here! :cool1: Hopefully you are just ahead of the mad rush to Disney that occurs when schools are out...southern school are out already but in the NE and other areas of the country it varies. For us it's the 19th this year.

Our own Stitchlovestink will be there and can hopefully provide updates as it gets closer to the weekend. :)

We just got back yesterday. It was our tenth stay at Pop Century and everything was amazing except the food court. We can tolerate the changes, yes we miss our favorites, but it was the attitude and cluelessness of the cm's that made us not want to visit the food court. My youngest son wanted a kid's meatball sub and this was after we had all the other food and the cm said well it takes five mins. My response was we will wait and she rolled her eyes and begrudgingly and slowly made a move to make it. My son enjoyed it but the rest of our food was cold by the time it was done. I know we chose to wait but really her attitude was one of not wanting to be bothered. Now another evening we went to order a large pizza. We waited under the sign that says where to stand to order one. We waited and waited. Cast members looked at us and walked on. Finally a cm came over and asked what we needed. I said that I needed to order a pizza, and she said have you been helped? I thought where did Disney find these people. I finally got it ordered and it was delicious. The food is different but prepared correctly and in a timely manner with cm's that want to be there and have a good attitude will make or break this food court. Buses were great even though twice we were taken to wrong destination. Once we were on the Pop bus and the driver took a full bus to AOA. Even pulled up at the MK stop at AOA. The other time we were on the AOA bus since it came first and she took us to Pop but did not stop, just drove on around the road that connects the two resorts. These were not an issue for us though. Looking forward to our Thanksgiving trip at AOA.

Hi Stitchlovestink :wave2: congrats on the preferred room upgrade! :cool1: I was so hoping you might get a little extra pixie dust on this trip. :goodvibes Nice to read you are already schmoozing up with the management  :thumbsup2 Hmm..special orders, cheesesteak wrap, warm potato chips, sw burgers? Oh, you are making us drool. :goodvibes

Oh, if you get a chance, pix of the menu boards would be appreciated (but only if you have time :)) Above all, have a GREAT time!! :dance3:

Sorry that you encountered customer service issues in the food court. :( Not sure if this can be at all contributed in part to the changes in the menu and/or having new CMs in training or short staffed. :confused3 And having an attitude isn't professional. On the plus side, happy the pizza delivered! :thumbsup2 When POP and AoA shared a bus, the driver would have to make a decision on what bay to pull into at MK, right? On the day you took the bus to AoA but it went to POP first, do you mean it actually pulled up to the resort but didn’t let you out?? In August we took the AoA bus back to the resort, and it never entered POP at all. Well you have the right attitude and happy you enjoyed your trip. :)
