When can you start to book roms only at the resorts for next year?

You can book room only 499 days out if you call.

You can't book online or book a package until they release the room rates for next year. Historically they have been released in August. But lately it's been the end of June beginning of July.

We have never stayed onsite before so I have a question. I was thinking about booking early when they release the new rates. My question is if they offer 15 to 30 percent discounts like this year do you get them if you have already booked a room?

You sure do! Just call them and have it applied...provided your stay falls within the appropriate dates. We did it this year and were refunded about $300

No, you have to decide if it is worth it to you. Discounts are not across the board, they are done to fill rooms. If that resort and booking category is not offered, you have to decide to stay with what you have, take the savings or upgrade at the same price.

You could potentially get a pin code for one thing and a public discount for something else and you decide what works best for you. You have to do a little work for it. It is not that cut and dry.

Yes, you can have a discount applied to an existing reservation provided the resort/room type you have booked is available under the discount as having a reservation already in place does not guarantee a discount can be applied. Disney releases discounts to fill rooms, so if a resort is booking up, Disney will see no need to offer a discount on that particular resort or will offer only a few rooms at a discount. Sometimes you have to be flexible with your resort and/or dates in order to take advantage of a discount. Also, you have to call to have a discount applied as Disney will not do that automatically.
