It's time to try a Disney Cruise. Let's start with the Dream! update pg 14

Great TR, I especially enjoyed all the pictures. It looks like your family had a great time! We just booked our first cruise (4 nights on the Dream) for this December. DH is especially excited to find the sunken ship from 20,000 Leagues, thank you for the info on that. :goodvibes

I just have one question. What kind of waterproof camera did you use to take those pictures at Castaway Cay? Love how beautifully they turned out!

Thank you so much for such a great TR! :thumbsup2

Glad you found some info that helped you.

The camera I used for the underwater pictures is actually a Kodak Play Sport video camera that also takes 5 mp pictures. I was happy with the pictures but some were guesses because the bright sunlight made it difficult to see the screen at times.

Where's the part about our MK day? ;)

I mean, you should finish this up before we go again :rolleyes1

Wonderful TR.
Question, while at CC. Did they have any 4-5 person bicycles???

We have 3 young children, and it would cool if we could all bike together.

I don't remember seeing any, I think they only had solo bikes.

I was reminded that we did add a day at MK for this trip and I should say something about it before we go again IN 22 DAYS!!!!!

It was a special trip for one big reason. Declan has always been very close with his DGF (DW's Dad) and wanted him to come to MK with us. We knew if that were to happen we would need to take them and on this trip the timing worked out for us.

The Grandparents decided to spend the month of March in Florida and they had rented a house in Kissimmee. We say this as our chance and gave them a day at MK for Christmas. So March 8th was to be the day and it was a day of a few firsts:

  • 1st visit for for the in-laws
  • 1st time we drove ourselves to a park
  • 1st time we have actually witnessed all of the rope drop opening ceremony
  • 1st time celebrating DS's birthday at MK
All in all we had a great day. Driving from Kissimmee, even in the am traffic took no time at all, parking was easy and we didn't even need a tram. Walked right over to TTC and jumped on the monorail to the park, made it through the turnstiles and found a spot for the opening with about 5 minutes to spare.
MK wasn’t too busy that morning so we were able to get lots done. The crowds did pick up through the day but it still wasn’t too bad at all. Throughout the day we were able to ride/see the following:

  • Peter Pan
  • Small World (Told Declan he had to because the Grand Parents had never been on it and you have to do it once. He wasn’t happy but went along with it.)
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Big Thunder Mountain (we used a fast pass for this one)
  • TTA
  • Laugh Floor
  • Carousel of Progress (stuck for a few minutes and the FIL had a quick nap)
  • Buzz Lightyear
  • Space Mountain
  • Walked through the new Fantasyland and Storybook Circus area
  • Philharmagic
  • POTC
Also in there we had lunch at Columbia Harbour House, attempted the Hall of Presidents but the next show was still 25 minutes away, wanted to get some Dole Whips but some non-DisDads didn’t want to stand in the ridiculously long line, and picked up a few souvenirs.

Late in the afternoon some people were getting a little tired out so we decided to head out. Since we took the monorail over, we took the ferry back found the car and were back in Kissimmee somewhere between 5 and 6 pm.

We all had a great time and the best part was hearing my FIL say over dinner “That was fun. I didn’t think I would enjoy that but I did. I see why you guys like it so much now.” A footnote to that is when I returned to Florida at the end of March to help him drive back (by that I mean do all the driving) I took him to EPCOT for the Flower and Garden Show. We spent most of the day wandering around, taking pictures and checking out the displays throughout the park. He then said he would need to bring MIL back to EPCOT and since they will have seen 2 of the parks they probably should see the rest. Another Disney Convert!!

To finish this off here are some pictures of our day at MK.
