I'M JUST SHOWBOATIN' AROUND THE WORLD! & getting pooped on. Jan 13 TR! NEW TR POSTED!

I go in 23 days and your TR has me and my girls jacked and ready for our breakfast at Crystal Palace!!!!

HAHAHAHA! Bruce and Amy planking... a sure sign that they're both feeling much better! :lmao: That's amazing.

That sunrise picture... omg. Not only is it amazing because you're at the MK entrance, but you got the Contemporary and the monorail and just AHHH. :cloud9:

'THE PUFFED' is the most fantastic thing ever. AND PIGLET!!!! I'm loving this update.

I don't even think you realize this but I'm eating at Crystal Palace in about two weeks and OH MY GOSH THIS MADE ME SO EXCITED!!!! I'm guessing a few of the updates that will come in the near future will include New Fantasyland... maybe by then I won't have to avoid them anymore!!!

I'm a new member and happened upon your thread and love it! I'm subscribed! Also I love the pictures of the Star Wars ride. My DF and I are going to Disney for our honeymoon next year and when I showed him the pics of the ride in your thread, he got giddy :rotfl: Also, I'm pretty sure I'll have to drag him out of Mitsukoshi. He is an anime and video game nerd (like me) and he will want to buy everything! :rotfl:

Planking. Oh the planking. I'm a fan! WOMPWOMP to the back pain, though, that's for sure!

I have done Crystal Palace for dinner, but never breakfast. Between your pics and the ones Marissa posted... I have to have the puffed French toast! Like, I need it in my life! And Disney potatoes. I don't know what they do to their potatoes to make them taste so dang delicious, but I am a FAN! Yum, yum, yum the food looks so good!

Also, I'm kinda jealous/excited for your ADR plans with Jenn... Definitely excited more than jealous, though, since I get to meet both you and Matt and Jenn's family!!

Only 4 months!!!!!

Womp womp moment of my day: reading your trip report and realizing it wasn't done! Your trip reports are the only ones I faithfully read, and I love them. I don't ever venture away from the Disneyland side of these boards, except for your trip reports! Oh, and on a side note, I'm from Tacoma and the entire time I was looking at your wilderness lodge photos I kept thinking of how weirdly familiar that place looks....you hit it SPOT on by comparing it to paradise!

I thought I should come out from lurking and say hi; I love your TR so far! I'm now going back and reading your 2012 TR and am loving it as well. I also have a quiet, yet hilarious, Star Wars obsessed DH, so your trips remind me a lot of our own!

Have a great time on your September trip...you'll love F&W...it's our new favorite and MNSSHP is a blast...even for those of us without kids. DH and I went as Fantasyland Imagineers last year complete with hard hats and construction vests and the CMs loved it...a few were even fooled. So if you have a creative costume...you'll have some great CM interactions!

So glad your friends were both finally feeling better!

CP is great for the before park opening but I am not as much a fan of the food. However Winnie the Pooh is my favorite character so that is also a bonus!

Yay! Stories! Pics! Amy feeling better and planking with Bruce! That was soooooo funny! I was doing my best not to wake up my DH but it's so darn hard not to laugh when you look at that picture. Plus imagining some older opulent walking out and having to step over them would have had me rolling out of my bed! :rotfl:
Thank you for my fix! I so needed that! Oh, and now I'm starving for some yummy breakfast at 2 am! ;-)

Haha hooray for an update! We were seriously dying when they were just laying there in front of our door, bahaha. So ridiculous.

I've got more updates coming up here quite soon after I get my replies done, YAY! :)

Amy and Bruce are so funny!! They were committed "Plankers" :thumbsup2

The food at the Crystal Palace looks soooo yummy, and Pooh and friends are so, so very sweet. Your pictures with them are all great!

I know, they are quite ridiculously hilarious at the least expected times.

We love CP breakfast! I can't wait to go again in September. It's a must-do for us every trip!

OMG, PRICELESS! PLANKING in the middle of the hall!! :lmao:

I LOVE getting up early (uh...hello? It's 5:30am right now and I've been up for over an hour) so getting up at WDW is even better! Everything is quiet and empty! CP breakfast is my favorite thing to do early in the morning and I'm completely jelly that you get to go back in 4 months and I have to wait 9! ;) Did you think the puffed french toast tasted different this time? It seemed denser or something, still good, but not as good...maybe I just built it up so much in my head between trips that it's couldn't stand up to my expectations! :lmao:

Hahahaha yup, I guess that's just how they roll! So funny.

It's funny, if I can just sleep until like 8am, I'm fine. But my body just doesn't want to get used to getting up every morning between 6:30-7, even though I do it every day! Wompwomp. But I agree, early mornings in WDW can be beautiful and oh-so quiet, haha.

I don't remember thinking the French Toast seeming different. I can't remember honestly! I think I was just so happy to be there and eating it that I didn't even realize it, hahaha. But you're not the first person to say that on the DIS recently!

Awesome update! :)

Thank you! I have some even better ones coming up here soon! :)

Hilarious! I love the planking!

Haha yeah, it definitely was a hilarious way to wake up this morning!

Oh my gosh, HILARIOUS!!! :lmao: Did you ask them how long they were planking while waiting for you to come out?!?! I can only imagine what kind of conversation stirred up that idea... :rotfl: But also, yay for Amy feeling better!! What a bummer that they BOTH ended up sick on vacation.

Ohhh, we have experienced that SUPER OBNOXIOUSLY EARLY morning at MK too, but it is SO worth it to be let into the park early and get those gorgeous shots of a mostly empty Main Street. Yummmm, Crystal Palace! My favorite breakfast that we have done so far, which granted is not many, but still, it's delicious. That puffed French toast, oh my GOD, it's pure sugar dusted perfection!

Haha I think they said not for very long... but that's exactly what I was thinking. Like, who came up with the idea to just lay like that in front of our door?! HAHAHA. So ridiculous. It was a bummer they both got sick, but I was happy to have them feeling a bit better again!

It really is worth it. We do it every vacation and love it! I agree though, the Puffed French Toast is just so so good! I want some right now!

Haha, at first I thought Amy and Bruce were just stretching out a sore back too. :rotfl2:
I do absolutely have to commend them on their commitment. :thumbsup2

Strangely, I just can't NOT get up early in Disney. At hope you betcha, but there, nope. :confused3

Bahaha, that would be quite a way to stretch things out! So funny, they were VERY committed!

I think I have a hard time when we're coming from the west coast and the 3 hour difference. Definitely throws off your sleeping schedule quite a bit for the first few days... and then by like day 6, my body is starting to hate me during those early mornings. :rotfl:

To reply to replies: Yes! I am down for the kitchen sink or MNSSHP meets, or both, bahah, both is good. From the looks of things I will be headed to MNSSHP twice during our trip, but My Mom and friend will only be going to the one, so they’ll definitely have to catch Hallowishes, Parade, some characters, and that, and I’ll do everything else on my own the other day haha. UGH. SO EXCITED!!

Bahahaha!! I am not a morning person AT ALL, until I’m in Disney, then I’m raring to go before the sun’s even up! Lawl. Oh my gawd, I would die if I opened my door to people planking, that’s hilarious!

Okay, that first sunrise photo seriously took my breath away, magical. Man, that crane, doesn’t it know it’s not photogenic?! Lawl. And recently, there was the grossness of their being two cranes, the main one, and one that was doing work over in FLE that would pop up in photos! UGH.

Ah! We’re doing CP in Sept too! What day are you going? Lawl, maybe it’d be the same day?! I love the potatos, but I have to admit, I wasn’t the French toast’s biggest fan!

Those celebration cupcakes are the absolute best, and deserve to be eaten at all times of the day! Yum!

Awesome, sounds good! I can't wait for MNSSHP. There's so much I want to do with Matt, and I think it's the perfect way to spend the night of our wedding anniversary. :thumbsup2

I agree, Disney is the only place where I'm okay getting up. Well, I get up, grumble for a bit, take some ibuprofen, THEN I'm ready to roll. I think this next trip will be more laid back though, so I'm looking forward to relaxing a little more!

Yeah, the crane is unfortunate. I'm sure it'll be there in September, too, which is a bummer! But at least there's photos in front of the castle at night, crane-free!

I think we're doing CP on the 20th? I can't remember exactly, since we don't have many ADRs this trip, haha. But yes, I believe it's that day!

I love celebration cupcakes, they're the best.

Love, love, love this update! CP is prolly my favorite restaurant on property, simply because Pooh is my absolute fav-o-rite character. But in looking at your yummy plate, I have to say I'm a little puzzled and sad at the same time...Does CP not have the Pooh waffles anymore??:confused3:worried::(

Aw thank you! CP is such a wonderful place to get food and meet adorable characters!

I have never seen Pooh waffles? Not sure what they even look like! :confused3

Oh we can't wait to try Crystal Palace. We have an 8:05 ADR for Crystal Palace in September and are sooo looking forward to it. :thumbsup2 Great update again as always.

I think you'll really love it! We're doing the 8:05 ADR in September, as well! It's way too much fun, and awesome to see Main Street so bare!

OMG the planking is awesome!! :lmao: So glad to hear that Amy was feeling better! :thumbsup2

Hahaha, I thought it was pretty hilarious!

OMG! I FREAKING LOVE AMY AND BRUCE!!!!!!!! That is so something I would do, but I'd never get Brandon to agree to it. How fun!:rotfl:

All I could think about this whole update was, "Hmmm...an 8:05 ADR for Crystal Palace...hmmmm...sounds perfect!" AND WE'LL BE DOING IT WITH YOU PEOPLE IN FOUR MONTHS!!!!!!:cool1: :hyper: ::yes::

(I'm a little excited. Forgive me.)

And the crane? Oh, the crane. I'm sure it will be there with us, too. WOMPWOMP.

Yeah, that was just so random and hilarious to walk out to!

I know! It's going to be so much fun! We are pretty darn excited about it!

Yeah, I'm sure the crane will make another lovely appearance in September... but WHATEVERRRR, it's not gonna rain on my parade!

I go in 23 days and your TR has me and my girls jacked and ready for our breakfast at Crystal Palace!!!!

Awesome!! You guys are going to have so much fun at it! It's wonderful! Glad this update helped get you guys super excited for it! :goodvibes

Hahaha yup. Pretty much.

I knew you'd like that one with the monorail and Contemporary being in it! Hahaha.

Puffed and Piglet in my life is basically perfection.

We already chatted about my creepiness in knowing that you're eating there, hahaha. I'm sure it's going to be amazinggggg! Also, yes, you are correct. Next update includes New Fantasyland, so you're going to want to skip most of it, wompwomp.

Awww thanks Dani. It was just one of those spontaneous things that I just HAD to do. You bring so much joy around here. :goodvibes

Haha aww, thank you so much! :goodvibes

:rotfl:

Awesome, welcome to my Trip Report, first and foremost! And I'm so glad you're enjoying it! You guys are going to LOVE Star Tours!! It's seriously so much fun!

And yes, he will LOVE Mitsukoshi for sure. That store is amazing!

Bahaha, yeah, it was hilarious. And wompwomp for the back pain, it wasn't really that much fun to deal with. :(

Puffed french toast is so good. I just wish I could eat that for breakfast right now.

Ahh yeah! We are doing breakfast with them that morning and I think dinner one night, too. Should be a fun time! We didn't want many ADRs this trip since we're not doing the DDP, but this is going to be a great one. It's going to be awesome to meet you though! I can't wait!!

Less than 4 months, it's going to be here before we know it, I swear!

Haha, I'm sorry I provided you with a WOMPWOMP moment of the day! But your comment made my day, because that is pretty awesome that you faithfully read mine, even when not at Disneyland!

Also, I LOVE that you get the whole Paradise/Wilderness Lodge thing! It really is a lot like it in certain respects! Glad I'm not crazy for making that comparison!

Aw thank you so much for commenting and coming out of lurkdom!! It sounds like we're pretty similar, and that is awesome that your husband loves Star Wars, juuuust like Matt, haha. :thumbsup2

We are so so excited for our September trip, but unfortunately we're JUST missing F&W! I'm kind of regretting not pushing back our trip to the very end of September so we'd catch it. :( But oh well, it just means we'll have to come back during F&W at some point!

Your costumes for MNSSHP sound AMAZING! Such a cool idea to have! I think our costumes should turn some heads, haha. I can't wait to show them off!

So glad your friends were both finally feeling better!

CP is great for the before park opening but I am not as much a fan of the food. However Winnie the Pooh is my favorite character so that is also a bonus!

Yeah, we were happy they felt better!

That's too bad you don't like the CP food, but the characters are a definite bonus there! They're way too adorable. :goodvibes

Chapter Thirty-Two: Under the seeeaaaaa.... except no.
Day 6: January 22nd, 2013

It was an absolutely gorgeous morning outside, even though it was a bit chilly, the sun was shining and the castle looked flawless.

file_zps1fb6e1f7.jpg

Bruce and Amy decided to head over to Space Mountain to get FPs for all of us since they weren't really into New Fantasyland, while Matt and I decided to go on Under the Sea: Journey of The Little Mermaid!

We decided to head over there through the castle, and I had to stop and take a photo of the hub/Main Street, because I feel like it's not often you can get a photo from that spot.

file_zps14868358.jpg

When we got through the castle, the CMs still had the rope up, so we hung out for a few minutes near the carousel.

file_zps1ecbf439.jpg

Finally the rope dropped, and we speed-walked it to New Fantasyland! Not many people in front of us either, yay!

Marissa, you're gonna want to skidaddle on out of here now.. New Fantasyland fun is coming right up.

It was nice seeing New Fantasyland not crazy full of people!

file_zps753b1d16.jpg

Oh hey, look, a 5 minute wait?! YAY!

file_zpsb9710715.jpg

EXCEPT... it was all a BIG LIIIIE. The attraction was unfortunately closed. WOMPWOMP.

We sadly turned around and walked away, stopping for a few photos in front of Gaston's Tavern.

file_zps6b0ce58a.jpg

file_zps876a6f27.jpg

As we made our way out of New Fantasyland, we noticed a huge crowd of people and some cameras... and then I spotted him... HOT GASTON!

Let me back up here a moment and explain. Hot Gaston is the one you see in all of the New Fantasyland commercials. and he's also the one that a lovely friend by the name of Steph had posted on twitter about during her trip.

Simply put, the man is GORGEOUS. So he is now known as Hot Gaston... and he was standing right in front of me with some children actors, just chatting about life.

file_zps9f1c19e4.jpg

I have no idea what they were filming for, but the kids had LeFou's Brew and I was just thinking about how dreamy Gaston looked. I mean, he WAS Gaston, no questions asked.

file_zpsf8507989.jpg

After Matt had to yank me away from being a paparazzo and taking 8 million photos of the infamous Hot Gaston, we decided not to waste our time and went on Peter Pan!

We knew Bruce and Amy had no interest, so we hopped on it ourselves. It's a must-do for every trip, just because it's such a ca-las-sic.

After a little ride visiting Peter Pan, Wendy and friends, we headed out to go find Bruce and Amy.

As we walked past the Tea Cups, I saw the White Rabbit hanging out all alone! I mean, hello, he clearly needed a friend to take a photo with, so I headed over to see how he was doing.

He was pretty adorable and made a heart sign at me, so when we took a photo together, I made one myself!

file_zps5498d63f.jpg

I kiiiind of love that photo. It's just adorable and I was lovin' life!

We found Bruce and Amy, and since we still had time to waste before Space Mountain, we all went on Buzz Lightyear!

I don't have any photographic evidence of this, which is totally weird, but I do have it noted that Bruce beat us all. I was too busy trying to find the high-scoring targets, and obviously failed at hitting them!

No wait, I did dig up a PhotoPass photo... Bruce's face is kind of amazing here, hahahaha. I have no idea where the photo of Matt and I went though, wompwomp.

file_zps1442f7f2.jpg

Our Fast Passes were ready for Space Mountain, but my back? Yeah, not so much.

It was really bothering me and I didn't want to make it any worse. I knew if I went on Space Mountain, I would highly regret it and I wouldn't be surprised if I threw it out by either getting tossed around in my spaceship or when getting out of the spaceship at the end.

So I sadly (or I should say, "sadly", because it wasn't that sad for me) had to pass on it, and told them I'd just go on the PeopleMover instead!

So Matt, Amy, and Bruce all headed off for Space Mountain, and I went on the People Mover alone.

It was kind of hysterical because the CM gave me a weird look, and I realized it was because I had an Anniversary pin on... but I was all alone, hahahaha. I felt like such a dork, but then I just didn't even care. I had a whole car to myself!

A car to myself meant feet up, it was time to relax!

file_zps2481cb3d.jpg

This was the first time I'd ever gone on the PeopleMover alone, and I have to admit, it was actually REALLY nice. It was really quiet in Tomorrowland, so I just enjoyed the nice breeze and all of the wonderful views.

file_zps6d4a1726.jpg

The People Mover REALLY became one of my top 3 rides on this trip. I just love it so much. Every time I ride it I find myself with a huge smile on my face because I'm just enjoying Disney World and my little personal tour of Tomorrowland.

Bruce, Matt and Amy all clearly enjoyed their ride on Space Mountain, from the photo that they took:

file_zpsf3c16f2c.jpg

We met up but then decided to break up again. Bruce and Amy didn't really want to ride The Little Mermaid, and obviously Matt and I did.

We saw that it was up and running and that the wait was relatively short, so we wanted to head right over.

I don't really know why Bruce and Amy had no interest in The Little Mermaid. I think they do love Disney but Fantasyland just isn't really their thing?

I don't know, I think thrill rides are just more up their alley, which is totally fine!

I actually have no idea where they went while we headed for New Fantasyland, but by the time we got there, the wait said it was 20 minutes. We were totally happy with that, because it meant we would be able to see the awesome queue!

And yes, Marissa, this is your CUE to STOP READING AGAIN because I'm about to post an absurd amount of photos of New Fantasyland below! ;)

Chapter Thirty-Three: Under the seeeaaaaa.... But for real this time!
Day 6: January 22nd, 2013

file_zps96a7fe1b.jpg

file_zpsde5b50d2.jpg

This queue is absolutely GORGEOUS! I mean, seriously, Disney, you just killed it with this one.

file_zps8e4a0f00.jpg

I know a lot of you have seen photos or have actually already been on this attraction, buuuut I'm sure you feel the same way as I did that first ride. It was just pretty breath-taking, all of the amazing details they put in! And even more adorable, they added a cute little game to play while you're waiting with the crabs!

file_zpsa37da3c9.jpg

file_zpsdaa09007.jpg

file_zpseb6dbb64.jpg

The line was actually moving WAY quicker than the 20 minutes, so I had to kind of rush through my photos in the outdoor queue area... But let me tell you, it was pretty amazing for a queue area.

file_zpsa92f0c62.jpg

Before we knew it, we found ourselves inside and about to board our Clam shell! The wait only ended up being about 10 minutes.

file_zps51ca9291.jpg

This. Ride. Was. ADORABLE.

I mean, seriously. I think the whole time I had my mouth wide open in awe. The animatronics just blew me away. Maybe I'm simple-minded, but they were seriously awesome.

file_zps2a1db67e.jpg

file_zps285b86f9.jpg

file_zpsba10aec1.jpg

file_zpsd61c110b.jpg

But I have to say, Ursula stole the show. That animatronic was not an animatronic.. IT WAS URSULA. Like, holy crap.

And I lucked out in taking what I think is the best photo I've ever taken of an animatronic on a ride.

file_zps841ae3ef.jpg

That just kind of blew me away.

file_zpsecc2d2a2.jpg

file_zpsfa39c057.jpg

file_zps8fa4527d.jpg

Both Matt and I LOVED this ride. I can't wait to go on it again, and I'm REALLY glad we waited to go on it in Disney World vs. seeing it in Disneyland. The animatronics on this thing were fantastic, and we cannot wait to go on it again next trip!

Wow! The photo of main street is amazing! The view from up there always means so much more to me as it’s the view from the castle stage and I just know one of these days I’ll be dancing up there! Lol.

Womp Womp!! Sad that LM ride was closed!

AAAAAAAHHHHHHH HOT GASTON!! Like, I’m flustered enough with any Gaston, but I would literally be speechless around that guy, he’ is TOO GOOD LOOKING. …if that’s even a possible thing… Also, I’m totally drinking water out of the gaston cup I got at the tavern….

Ha! Hilarious Buzz ride photo. I love the Peoplemover, it’s such a nice relaxing ride through Tomorrowland! Ha! Another great ride photo!

So glad you got on and loved LM, it’s such an amazing area of MK, the whole expansion is done so amazingly, and hey, it may be the same as the one in DCA, but WDW’s queue is WAY superior! Haha Amazing photos!!

I love your MainStreet photo! So pretty!
I think I have seen 'college age' Gaston. He is adorable!

Wow, your Under the Sea pictures are great! I really enjoyed that ride too. It is amazing.

YES photo from the hub!!! Best and almost never done by most.

Ca-Las-Sic... LOVE IT!

Buzz produces some of the best on ride photos seriously. People look possessed. It's awesome.

Finally, I have to say that even though I'm not a huge twitter-er, I do check it from time to time and yes, The Office leaving the air is brutal. Just brutal. I couldn't even watch it last night (too painful), choosing instead to relive some of the old episodes on Netflix.
Tonight I will finally watch the finale since I don't have to work tomorrow and probably will have a tough time sleeping afterwards.
I just know it's going to be really hard...

...That's what she said. :sad1:

I love that shot of Main Street from the Hub!! I just love Main Street. OKay, I just love every piece of WDW!

PEOPLEMOVIN', were ya?! You know how I feel about that:cool1:! Can you believe I've never done the obligatory foot shot?? Guess I'm a rule breaker.

I have a bad back/neck, so I totally get skipping out on Space. I don't even think I'll do it at all next trip. It has hurt me every single time, and I just give up. Not worth ruining the trip! BUT, their picture is adorable!

Oh, I can't wait to ride LM! I can't wait for the KIDS TO RIDE IT!!!!!!! They are going to be amazed, and I love to watch their amazed faces.

So much filming going on lately! Remember they were filming when we were on our way to early ADR at CP?! It's constant. But, hey, who wouldn't want to film Hot Gaston!?!

Update: The girls had ruled out Haunted Mansion this time. But then they thought about it and said they *might* ride it with Matt because it's his favorite. Maybe. Subject to change.

Thanks so much for posting pictures of yourself modeling the D&B bag, looks very cute!

Great updates!! The crane really is sucky. We almost always go in Janaury so it's always there. My hubby is cute though. The other day we were walking downtown and saw a crane and he was like "The only thing that's missing is Cinderella's Castle." Dawwww.

Wow, Gaston is smokin'. I don't think he is even wearing fake muscles.

I love the People Mover!! I don't blame you for sitting out Space Mountain. It always does a number on my back/neck.
