so i have been on the BWL wait list for 35 points Sept use year since February at 115 a point. Anyone else been on any wait lists for this long? i am ok with it since have saved a lot more since feb but just wanted to check in on everyone else.

We are waiting on 50pts at BCV Oct or Sept use year and we have been on the WL since Mar 11th.

BCV, March UY, 75 points
Been on waitlist since March 19th. Our guide told us June at the earliest.

Ok, so one of the advantages of buying direct is to have quick access to your points, while buying resale you have to wait for ROFR, etc which can take months.

So, you go on the direct waitlist and you wait 2-3 months or more for the right to then pay $25-$40 more than you could have paid for resale and you would have received your points at about the same time.

I understand that some people just don't want to take the chance with ROFR on a resale, but paying $115 (or more) for something you can get for $75 on resale...as an accountant...it just doesn't add up.

Interesting. A BWV SEPT 300 just passed ROFR at $72. I don't think Disney is as interested in filling wait list requests as we might think.

BWV & BCV WL - 50 pts each - since March 19th - guide said that the WL would hold the $115/pt price for 6 months and he hoped we'd hear something within that time.....pixiedust:

3 issues - restrictions that, obviously, some don't care about, the ability to finance and access to non-stripped contracts as the resale market of late has primarily contracts with few points coming in the near future.

We are on the waitlist for 50 points at both BCV (since March 19) and BLT (since last week). It amazes me that they are selling upwards of 18,000 BLT points per month, at $165/point no less, and it is STILL taking weeks to months for them to come through!

It's funny, some guides have apparently stated there is an "expiration" date to the wait list prices (6 months) whereas others have not. I expressly asked my guide about this and he stated that as long as we were on the list by March 19, the price would be locked in. BTW, WL should have been $103 per point. Still kicking myself that I didn't get on that list!

I'm waiting for a small 25 point Oct. UY contract at BWV. I've been watching resale for a really long time and have not seen one come up. If you notice most of us are waiting for small under 100 pts contracts. They aren't that easy to come by.

I talked to my guide a couple of weeks ago and he said there was still a page and a half of people waiting for BWV points. He was kind enough to scan the list for me and said that there were 9 people ahead of us waiting for BWV Oct UY points. He said the person at the top of the list for BWV Oct. UY points was waiting for 60 points and had been waiting since 3/1.

There is actually another thread on this topic here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3081519

Maybe they want the 6 months to go by so your not guaranteed the lower pricepirate:

yeah man its all 50 or less and the last 50 point at BCV or BWL i saw went for 89 a point and it was stripped.....we are not talking 300 point contracts. i agree with you for 100 or more its smart to go resale but these are for small ones...

In November 2013 we will be able to purchase a 50 pt add on with straight cash + fees so if neither of our WL come thru we will be trying to jump onto the re-sale train. The challenge with that train is that I only want a specific amount of pts and I want both venues. Buying small contracts via re-sale isn't easy or as inexpensive as anything from 150 on up. Buy re-sale might be cheaper but that's about the ONLY upside I can see - but it is a significant detail.

I agree - starting to see more contracts make it thru with lots of pts in various UY, including mine.

I thought that you had to buy 100 points minimum in a single transaction to finance
