Our very first cruise was over Mother's day (just a coincidence, not because of). I don't recall anything special being done.

We were on the Fantasy June 2012. They gave the Dads an extra dessert not on the menu. They had a big sheet cake that they did not cut into. That's it.

On our MD cruise, photographers were at dinner taking pics of moms and their kids. There was a special graphic printed on the picture about it being mothers day. A couple years later on our FD cruise, they did nothing that we could see.

We were on the Magic last year on Mother's Day. The only special thing I recall was a large decorated cake at the entrance of the dining room.

They did that on Fathers Day. We were hoping they would cut it and never did (I love plain cake and buttercream frosting....)

We were on the Magic last week on Mother's Day. The only special thing was a surprise dessert that wasn't on the menu.

I did get a surprise by winning the drawing for a very pretty necklace at the Key West shopping talk on Mother's Day. I never win anything so it was a nice "extra" to my already very nice Mother's Day!

We spent Mother's Day on the Magic this year too, and the only not-so-special moment was chocolate coins that said "mother's day" as opposed to the regular chocolates on the towel animals.

I was on that magic cruise too. Didn't see a special desert. Got mother's day chocolate coins. We did Palo brunch on mother's day

We just got off the WBPC. Mothers' Day was sailing through the canal which was pretty awesome. Shutters took dining room photos that night and added a special 101 Dalmatians border. They also handed out little cards to all the moms they saw that day (I got mine before dinner) regardless of whether or not any photos had been purchased. Other than that, nothing. Lots of folks booked Palo brunch that day to celebrate. DH and the kids gave me a DCL Chamilia charm.

This. I didn't see a special dessert either. Just pink chocolates instead of Sleepy. Several of the staff did wish me a Happy Mother's Day. No matter what, it was a very special Mother's Day because I was on the Disney Magic with my mother and my daughter

I was on Magic too, no special cake or photographers at the dinner. No one said "Happy Mother's Day" to me, I forgot about it until I saw the Mothers's day chocolates instead of Sleepy chocolates at night.

I was on the Fantasy last week and the only special thing was the chocolates that were left that night. They were wrapped in pink foil that said Mothers Day, or something similar.

It was kind of weird! I had already ordered and eaten my dessert when our server showed up with another dessert. He said "and here is a special dessert for Mother's Day."

It sounds like it just depended on each server. Ours probably realized that I like sweets since I ordered 1 or 2 desserts at each meal!
