How many days for 1st timers to conquer parks?

Realistically how many days would you think it would take for a first timer to comfortably & thoroughly conquer US & IOA?
We will be staying at HRH.

2 days is good, but more is better just to disk it in and enjoy. Plus you are staying onsite which makes it nice.

I think 3 days is perfect. One day for each park and then one more day to do all your favourites. With three days, you have lots of time to enjoy the restaurants, pools, Citywalk and the parks without having the rush around.

I have been to Universal many times...my family and I usually can get through everything in 2 days...I have stayed at Royal Pacific Resort which definitely makes it nicer and convenient...the Express Passes save a bunch of time...

We stay a week and aren't bored.But 3 days is good if you can do it.one for each park and one to redo any favorites or things missed

I have planned four days (with park-to-park) just to make sure that we get everything done, and at a comfortable pace. It helps that the parks are closing early - or at least what I consider early compared to Disney with EMH. We won't feel the need to stay late and watch all of the parades and fireworks, as well as hit our favorite rides again.

I say "real" visit, because on our 2006 visit to WDW (offsite stay) as an extended family get together, we had an impromptu day at USF. It wasn't much fun, most of my inlaws are not theme park commandos like the wife and I are. They complained about the heat (no duh, it was July) and the fact that you had to walk, and then wait in line, etc.

3 days should be good for a newbie.




some dates will have more crowds than others.

in those cases, a couple of days for the parks wouldn't cut it.



looking at the op's siggie, 8 months from now for their trip would be January.

I bought 4 day 2 park tix when we went for the first time last year, and we were able to do everything we wanted in 2 says. The other days we were only there for a few hours to see/do things again.

That said, neither of my boys will do roller coasters, so we were there mainly for HP (one did FJ, neither would touch the Dragon) and the tamer rides. We also lucked out and got a coolish, rainy week, so we did everything but the coasters at USO before 4pm the day we were there and didn't go to IOA.

If you are thrill ride types (like me), I would think at least 3 days, with day 3 for anything you missed or wanted to ride again.

Crowds aren't bad but the South American Tour groups are out in FULL FORCE..I was never in my life sooo grateful for resort guest express pass ..LOL

I stayed a week (5 nights/ 6days) for my first visit back in '08. I enjoyed the ability to go a few hours in the morning then back for a few at night. It was the most "relaxing" amusement park trip I have ever done.

If you are not planning on going on all the rides and to all the shows in both parks, 2 days might be enough, but if you want to hit it all, 3-4 is better. Plus there are so many great places to dine at both parks as well as Citywalk. Not to mention the good food at the resort restaurants. And all the shopping. And the mini-golf. And BMG if you want.

Lots to see and do, so depending on how much of the above you want, 2-4 days should do it.

Im planning 3 days and doing the same you suggested. Staying off site so will have less time thier due to early hotel shuttles but the one day in each park and day doing both is the best way i can think to see everything.
