Will Cabana Bay have unlimited express pass?

I'm here now and it's paradise at the RPR! Our car service driver told us that the new hotel will have unlimited express. I know it's like trusting info from the Disney bus drivers but is this true?

No, it will just have early admission.

If Disney had express for their moderate to deluxe hotels I would consider staying onsite when visiting Disney. To me Disney offers no real benefit for us to stay onsite. We end up staying at RPR and drive down to Disney when we want to go which is not to often. We like Disney but love Universal. The problem with Disney is its so big and spread out that you can't just zip around to the other parks. This is where Universal wins in relaxation and convenient.

Even though it is spelled out pretty clearly that resort guest express pass is not a perk at Cabana Bay, I am wondering how many people will book it only to find out it doesn't and get mad.

Oh, I'm sure it will happen. They really are trying to make it clear though. Even on the hotels page on the universalorlando site it says:

it only took 15 years of trips for us to figure this out this past month. We always stay on Disney property. We dont use magical express, we drive ourselves to the parks, dont use extra magic hours- since it just makes that park more crowded, and don't use the dining plan....WHY do we stay onsite? We drove to universal for a planned one day at each park, everyone voted to use the third free and axe a day at Disney. and even without the benefits of staying at a universal hotel, we liked it better- imagine if we had these benefits. We LOVED universal- they will be getting my $$ next year. Are planning now and cant get over the fact that we get a nicer hotel, early entry AND express pass for all 5 of us!!!

it only took 15 years of trips for us to figure this out this past month. We always stay on Disney property. We dont use magical express, we drive ourselves to the parks, dont use extra magic hours- since it just makes that park more crowded, and don't use the dining plan....WHY do we stay onsite? We drove to universal for a planned one day at each park, everyone voted to use the third free and axe a day at Disney. and even without the benefits of staying at a universal hotel, we liked it better- imagine if we had these benefits. We LOVED universal- they will be getting my $$ next year. Are planning now and cant get over the fact that we get a nicer hotel, early entry AND express pass for all 5 of us!!!

we were hooked after our first trip Jan 2012..We are going this August for over a week and will drive to Disney for the 2 days we want to go there.The value at Disney has gone down while the cost has gone up.The perks and the beauty of the Loews resorts ( and they are cheaper than what I was paying for a disney deluxe) is worth it to us.After our Universal trip we were spoiled, relaxed and decided we were done with onsite Disney stays for awhile and that is a HUGE deal coming from us since we ALWAYS stayed at Disney and did Disney only..

We LOVED universal- they will be getting my $$ next year. Are planning now and cant get over the fact that we get a nicer hotel, early entry AND express pass for all 5 of us!!!

We love it too, and have since our very first visit! During that first visit we had already planned to get WDW APs, and hadn't even thought of Universal APs. So when we decided to go back inside of a year, we were bummed! I bought an AP for that trip for the AP rate at the hotel, and before our trip was done, DH and DS had upgraded as well.

Another bonus...the renewal rate for the Universal APs is fabulous. Makes it really easy to just renew as long as we have even one trip planned.
