WBPC May 6th 2013 Wonder

Great Weather at CC. Today it was a little cooler but still better than being back home. So far the water hasnt been that bad, aside from slight rolling the first night, it has been a smooth sail.

I was confusing myself... Thinking it was Thursday, then thinking you were behind schedule. Shelby is hoping you are seeing plenty of lighted Mickey and Tinkerbell pins that she gave for her FE gifts.:rotfl2:

That sounds like a great FE gift! I can't believe today is Thursday and you will be in Cartagena tomorrow! Enjoy!

Cartagena was quaint. The port area was nice, pretty free from hecklers except I you wanted a taxi. The nice thing is there's are macaws, flamingos, and peacocks you can see for free. There is also cheap wifi right at the small port terminal. The old town and new town were nice but nothing that we would be dying to come back and see. Plus lots of people bothering you to buy items. The weather started dreary but got better. Now on to the crossing.

Cruising through the canal now. Very beautiful although it is also very hot and muggy as expected. The locks are a technological marvel. They are finally showing IM3 tonight.

We stayed on Deck 9 until last call, waiting for the line to go down. So sad it's over. Time to count down to the San Diego 2-night next May and hope some more closed-loop cruises from SoCal show up again for us to move our dummy booking.

Home now, and still in daze. ;) Had a great time! Didn't participate in any DISboard events, but we did run into roseburghughes (Tim and Kathy), and DW visited the Outlook Cafe for crafting a few times. Of course the Panama Canal was the Grand Highlight, but there were a lot of other highlights as well. We had good chemistry with our table mates, 3 other couples our age, and will meet up with one of them tomorrow night at DTD. Our servers Yusuf and the lovely Svetlana were the best we've experienced on any of our cruises. Had our first Palo brunch, and second Palo dinner. The crew talent show was a blast, especially the interaction between Cruise Director Jimmy and Captain Fabian. Who knew a cruise ship captain could be so acrobatic? And I did think Jimmy did a great job docking the ship the next day. :lmao: We had breakfast at Triton's on Mother's Day morning and were seated with a main stage cast member and her mother. The mom later danced with Jimmy in the crew talent show. Learned that the entire cast was on its last voyage and would be moving on to other things after this trip - good luck to them all, many of whom have Broadway aspirations. Dreams was a great show - better even than we remembered it. Capt Puckett was a first class character - saw him all over the ship, definitely earning his grog. The Heidi Blickenstaff show was very good, as were the Mike Super (magic) and Lynn Trefzger (comedy/ventriloquist) shows. And lots and lots of sea days, ahhhhhh.....

Well been home since noonish. Already taken a small nap, been to chiropractor, and had lunch. Funny thing happened there. They asked me to pay for my food. Weird

BTW, I had some business at Guest Services and as an aside asked about the guy that was paged a couple of times when we were about to leave Cabo. They said he did make the ship, in case anyone was worried about that. :thumbsup2

At the Captain Vs. Cruise Director cook off, someone asked Captain Fabian the same question. He do said he made it, but he was going to leave him.

Glad you and Mike made it back safely. Terri and I met up with Bill and Vicki last night at their time share and had dinner at DTD. They're probably home by now too. Nice chatting with you all at table #6. :grouphug:

Just popping in from DL after a busy few days after the cruise end. What a fantastic cruise it was. We think the best ever and certainly 100% better than the Jan 2011 Wonder WBPC. I am sure Alan will agree with me there. The crew was fantastic and the ship looked great. We had an amazing time.

We have booked for next year's crossing too as we love this cruise so much.

Sitting in our studio at the VGC at the moment and watching darkness fall over the Paradise Pier again. Soon it will be World of Color out there.
