Just Back- CSR Business Class Review- LOVED IT!

Just back from a wonderful week long stay at Coronado Springs Resort in a Business Class room. DH, myself, my DD (9) and DS (6) all stayed in a 2 Queen Room in Cabanas 9 B.

I have to say we LOVED everything about CSR (welll.... almost everything, I will get to that later). We stayed Business Class and IMO it was worth the small extra price we paid! The property is gorgeous. We are the type of family who likes to go on tropical vacations- we like sand, palm trees, hammocks-- so we loved the theming of the Cabanas section. Gorgeous!!!

We ate continental breakfast there every AM and had beer and sangria in the evenings when we were back from the parks in time. The staff was helpful, courteous, and friendly. The food choices were kept well stocked and refilled regularly, and while the lounge was busy- it wasn't crowded and there was always a place to sit. Breakfast was bagels (every day), and muffins or danish, fruit, yogurt, juice, and cereals and milk and of course coffee- and a capuccino maker. Just enough for a quick bite before heading into the parks-- so handy!

We used bus stop 1 and only had to stand on the bus once in the week we were there. Wait times were very minimal- I think the longest we waited on either end (resort or parks) was 10 minutes once- every other time it was much less than that- on average 5 mins or less.

Housekeeping was fantastic and the room was clean and towels refreshed every day. We even had towel animals and/or the kids' stuffed animals were arranged in cute ways on the beds every day.

The Dig Site pool was fantastic and the lifeguards very attentive. There were games and activities every day, and the slide was so much fun.

There were conventions going on the whole time we stayed and I did not feel the presence of conventioneers had any negatives on my experience at all. In fact, I really didn't see many people in business attire and/or experience any "rowdy" behavior, etc. The public areas all had a nice mix of adults and kids mostly vacationers from what I could tell.

The only negative was Pepper Market. I just don't get that place. We only ate there one evening, as we were having a pool night but wanted more than a sandwich or chicken nuggets for dinner- which was what the pool offered. We did not like Pepper Market at all. The whole set up was weird to me. Having to pay a waiter to bring us drinks and then disappear for the rest of our meal. The food choices were plentiful and my food was good-- just not $87.00 good- lol. It was the most expensive, lowest quality QS we ate while on our trip-- very disappointing. CSR really just needs to have a food court type set up and dump the waiters and the strange stamp-card process. I would NOT recommend going there to anyone vacationing at CSR and we all wished we had hopped the bus for DTD and had eaten at Wolfgang Pucks QS instead. Live and learn.

That said, our experience at Pepper Market did not ruin nor even mar our wonderful, relaxing vacation. We thought CSR Business Class was amazing, the rooms nice, the property and landscaping gorgeous, and the staff friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Thanks for the review! We are currently booked at CSR in a standard king room and I have debated upgrading to a business class king room. It would be about another $600 for me to upgrade. Do you think it's worth that much?

We are big breakfast people and in our previous stays at POR, we always grabbed breakfast at the food court before heading to the parks. I thought it would be nice to conserve dining credits by utilizing the business class lounge. Your review of Pepper Market is discouraging since that's probably where we'd grab breakfast most days without the upgrade.

Worth the $600 to upgrade?

Thanks so much for the review! We are booked for business class in August. Looking forward to it!

They do have refillable mug stations like the other resorts, correct?? I don't really get the whole Pepper Market place. Sounds complicated and unnecessary. lol

I really don't think we will be eating there much, if at all. We have some ADR's and then between the lounge and other counter service at parks, we should be able to avoid the food court there. Sad that they make it to where people TRY to avoid going there. But that is just me, others probably like it. ;)

Glad you had a nice time. We are stopping by there in a few days while we are in the area for a sneak peak. We are booked a few days at POP so figured we should check out CSR to make sure it is what we want for Aug.

Thanks for your review! Glad you all had a great time. I too loved the Cabanas (haven't been there in years) and my only gripe about the resort back then was the buses, good to hear they've done something about that. It's the only reason dh won't go back there, otherwise I would probably have booked our upcoming trip there for at least a couple of nights.

I actually liked the pepper market's food, but again, I haven't been there in years so things do change.

It truly is a beautiful resort and it seems even more beautiful since the rehab.

How many nights is the upgrade for?

Yeah $600 seems pricey especially if you like big breakfasts. Coconino Cove offers what I'd call "continental breakfast" cold items only. We stayed 6 nights an Business Class upgrade cost us under $200 total.

Nkreina- I would not do it for $600 for 8 nights- that's expensive. I wonder why it was so much cheaper in April/May. 6 nights cost us just under $200- that worked out to roughly $33 a day or $8 per person (since there were 4 of us) roughly for breakfast and a few beers/sangria (for the adults- lol) that was a good deal to me. That's about all I'd pay for it. $600 for 2 people would be $75 a day or 37.50 per person. IMO that's a lot of breakfast/drinks. I'd put that $600 towards other things.

Hmm you all have me wondering how much more we are paying for business class. lol I guess I need to go figure that out. I am with you, that is alot to pay for the little extras you would get. Although we do have 4 adults basically, so that will make a difference.

Just did the figures and IF(and big if because reg rooms aren't available for AP discount) we could get the same discount on reg rooms (25%) it looks like we will be paying $188 more for the business class. That is for 4nights with 3 adults/1child (who is 16 so east as much as an adult. lol) So we are looking at appx $11.75pp/pd for the upgrade.

Do you think it is worth that price? I am thinking so just to get the close room to food court.

I'm just learning about Coronado Springs having Business Class. Is it similar to staying club level at the deluxe resorts? What are the perks for staying business class? Is there a lounge and if so, where is it located? Thanks!:)

There is a well maintained thread for CSR with info regarding the new business class level that just started this year.

Its for 8 nights... checking in 11/14 and checking out 11/22.

Ouch. No, I wouldn't do an upgrade.

Yes, for 11.75 a day heck ya that is worth it. Breakfast, evening cocktails and location.

Thank you for the great review.

We've stayed at the Coronado ten times, but never business class. We now stay at DVC by renting points, but we wouldn't hesitate to go back to CSR if a good deal came out.

Sorry you were disappointed with the Pepper Market. We have eaten there numerous times and love it.

When I was there in April, the evening snacks were chocolate covered pretzels, a few different kinds of chips, dips, veggies, fruit and cheese, sometimes a nut snack mix, with sesame sticks.
Don't forget the robes! I like those! And the kids working the lounge were very friendly!
