Just back from a wonderful week long stay at Coronado Springs Resort in a Business Class room. DH, myself, my DD (9) and DS (6) all stayed in a 2 Queen Room in Cabanas 9 B.
I have to say we LOVED everything about CSR (welll.... almost everything, I will get to that later). We stayed Business Class and IMO it was worth the small extra price we paid! The property is gorgeous. We are the type of family who likes to go on tropical vacations- we like sand, palm trees, hammocks-- so we loved the theming of the Cabanas section. Gorgeous!!!
We ate continental breakfast there every AM and had beer and sangria in the evenings when we were back from the parks in time. The staff was helpful, courteous, and friendly. The food choices were kept well stocked and refilled regularly, and while the lounge was busy- it wasn't crowded and there was always a place to sit. Breakfast was bagels (every day), and muffins or danish, fruit, yogurt, juice, and cereals and milk and of course coffee- and a capuccino maker. Just enough for a quick bite before heading into the parks-- so handy!
We used bus stop 1 and only had to stand on the bus once in the week we were there. Wait times were very minimal- I think the longest we waited on either end (resort or parks) was 10 minutes once- every other time it was much less than that- on average 5 mins or less.
Housekeeping was fantastic and the room was clean and towels refreshed every day. We even had towel animals and/or the kids' stuffed animals were arranged in cute ways on the beds every day.
The Dig Site pool was fantastic and the lifeguards very attentive. There were games and activities every day, and the slide was so much fun.
There were conventions going on the whole time we stayed and I did not feel the presence of conventioneers had any negatives on my experience at all. In fact, I really didn't see many people in business attire and/or experience any "rowdy" behavior, etc. The public areas all had a nice mix of adults and kids mostly vacationers from what I could tell.
The only negative was Pepper Market. I just don't get that place. We only ate there one evening, as we were having a pool night but wanted more than a sandwich or chicken nuggets for dinner- which was what the pool offered. We did not like Pepper Market at all. The whole set up was weird to me. Having to pay a waiter to bring us drinks and then disappear for the rest of our meal. The food choices were plentiful and my food was good-- just not $87.00 good- lol. It was the most expensive, lowest quality QS we ate while on our trip-- very disappointing. CSR really just needs to have a food court type set up and dump the waiters and the strange stamp-card process. I would NOT recommend going there to anyone vacationing at CSR and we all wished we had hopped the bus for DTD and had eaten at Wolfgang Pucks QS instead. Live and learn.
That said, our experience at Pepper Market did not ruin nor even mar our wonderful, relaxing vacation. We thought CSR Business Class was amazing, the rooms nice, the property and landscaping gorgeous, and the staff friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
