Virgin welcome meeting.

I am just trying to make a rough plan for our trip. On our Virgin paperwork its says we need to go to the resort welcome meeting to pick up the kids eat free card. Having been a few times before I don't think we will need to be at that meeting apart from for that does anyone know if the kids eat free card is worth it? Also where is it held nowadays, last time I went it was Raglan Road :goodvibes

Unless you are desperate for the card I would skip it. We don't eat at the places it's offered so it wouldn't be worth it to us.

You need to see whether its worth your time but I can't see it as kids meals are so cheap anyway.

There is no way I would goto a welcome meeting. If I really wanted the card I would pay for it rather than waste time but as Tracy said it doesn't have a great deal of value. We are planning places to eat in August with a 5 year old, many restaurants do free kids meals, either every day or certain nights of the week.

I got the Kids Eat Free card when I purchased tickets from Attraction Tickets Direct. Not many restaurants on there that we might eat at - we will probably use it at Boston Lobster Feast and maybe Ponderosa. There are a few CityWalk restaurants on it, but not the ones we want to eat at - probably why they are on the card in the first place.

You can see the list of restaurants where you can use it on the web.

I personally wouldn't waste time at a welcome meeting for it - every minute in Orlando is valuable to me!

I agree with the PP's, there is very little value in the kids eat free card and I would skip the meeting and get on with your holiday.

Skip, skip and skip! Over the years the freebie has gotten worse! We first went and got a free dinner each at planet Hollywood. We could choose any meal. The next time the meal was limited to just burgers. The next time was a virgin set meal at selected locations with even worse selection! Please don't bother what a waste of time!

Thanks everyone - I will knock it off of the schedule!

I remember the days of free planet Hollywood meals and priority seating. They need to bring them back lol!

We have to go to one of these to pick up our early entry to Harry Potter. We got our Universal tickets through Virgin, purely for the early entry, but I'm not sure whether we're going to bother now. It doesn't seem worth the extra time.

Virgin generally call you before you go on holiday, just to see if you need anything
you can ask to pick some of the things up at the airport in your pack they give you. weve done that before in the past. :)
doesnt hurt to ask :thumbsup2

Oooh hadn't thought of that, thank you :) cant hurt to ask can it!

We go to the one at Universal to get into Harry Potter early before others, but that was 3 years ago when there were 3 hour queues in the summer to just get into the land, let alone the ride. Whether it's worth it now, at any other site, never unless you have not been before but then you learn more off this site than that meeting.
