Booked BC but now thinking I should have done Poly.

It priced out for the 5 of us (me, dh, dd-15, ds13 and ds11) to be about 500 less for the BC. We have stayed at both before and loved them both for many reasons. Now I am wondering if I should have just gone with Poly. I booked for the fd but now dh is thinking we should go down Friday to Friday and just buy our own meals for two days.

Which one would you pick?:confused3

That's a hard choice!! I love both resorts. With Poly you get a larger room, and a beautiful resort, on monorail.
With BC the kids will like SAB better. I find the volcano pool at poly nice, but too small. Also BC is walking distance to 2 parks. Epcot is in your back yard, many dining options around World Showcase, and Boardwalk.

Good luck choosing! No bad choices here.

This is exactly why we are doing a split stay in July! We LOVE BC, but we've also always wanted to stay at Poly....so we are going to do both. I know with FD, doing a split stay is a little more complicated since there is the issue of having to purchase tickets.

$500 is a big difference....I'd stay at BC if I were you. But if the $500 isn't an issue, then stay Poly.

Looking at your kids ages, I bet they would prefer the pool at BC over Poly.

I'm talking out of both sides of my mouth, aren't I? With good reason...since both resorts are A++++++!

Coming home to the tiki torches after a long day at the parks at the polynesian cant be beat. And monorail access from poly to all the parks is good enough for me.
My family and i arent much into swimming but when we do, love staring at the castle. Id enjoy bc but the whole time id feel like im missing out on the poly.

Id do the poly.

For $500, I'd keep the reservation at BC and go have a great meal at Ohana one night. We love both, but with the difference, I'd enjoy many strolls over to Epcot.:)

We love them both, so we tend to split. But I would go with whichever appeals to you more for this trip. You can't really go wrong either way -- they are both great!:goodvibes

We've stayed at both and while we did like the BC, the Poly would be our choice. The BC is great for being within walking distance to both Epcot and DHS, but the tropical surroundings, larger rooms, the beach, and good CS at the Poly would win out for us.

dont forget the hot tub at bc none at poly, havent stayed at bc but have stayed at yacht club and poly either way both are great resorts and you really cant go wrong no matter what you deceide
:thumbsup2

$500 is alot of money and at BC, you have easy access to both HS and epcot, plus you don't have to deal with the monorails, which can have issues sometimes.

We think the BC is a better resort than the Poly so my vote would be BC even if it wasn't cheaper. We didn't like the separate buildings and the rooms that were badly in need of a refurbishment at the Poly. Your kids are the perfect age for the BC, too.

We prefer BC over Poly so that would be a no brainer for our family. Add into that $500 and you would have sealed the deal! Both resorts have their perks but I would stay at the Beach club if it were us and had no preference. $500 could be the down payment on your next stay (think bounce back :) )

Ok, I have never stayed at BC but I am dying to, so here's my two cents. I think with the ages of your kids, they will really enjoy the pool area at BC and also being so close to epcot and DHS. We are staying at poly for our upcoming trip, and while I do love it, we chose it mainly because I have 4 little kids-oldest is 8- and being on the monorail is key. We are planning another trip for feb '14, and leaving the 2 littlest ones at home, and we are finally going to try BC. It is a tough choice though. But I don't think you can go wrong either way!g

I would take Poly over BC in a heart beat. After staying at the Poly for years we decided to give BC a try last summer. While it is a very nice resort, our entire family missed the Poly the entire week. The Poly just feels like our Disney "home". So glad to be returning there this August. I certainly can't say that you would have the same opinion though. You can see by the responses you're getting that there are plenty of people on these boards that love the BC as much as I love the Poly. Good luck with your decision

I should have never opened this thread! :rotfl2:

My famillies 1st trip is this September (I did College Program in '92), so we're going BIG and I chose BC Club Level - Deluxe room. BUT, Poly was a very close runner up. Ugghhh the choices!

I'm telling myself I made the right choice...my kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pool and I have a day and half *off* so they can enjoy SAB. Also, my kiddos are definitely more Pixar fans, than traditional Disney Character fans (I know, I know) so I thought the proximity to HS may be better.

Didn't the rooms at Poly just get re-done? Did that include CL? I could save a little money by switching I think, because the rooms are bigger anyway. When I orginally looked, I just though Poly seemed dark? We're definitely "beach" people, have a boat, and vacation at the beach every summer...so I knew BC would appeal to that side of us.

BUT (see here I go again) I really like the monorail idea and seeing the Castle and watching fireworks from the Poly Beach sounds wonderful too!

Someone talk me down! :worship:

Pardon my ignorance but what's SAB? Oh, and yes, the rooms at Poly are being refurbished this year. They were working on them when my family and I were there in February!

Thanks!
Michael

Pardon my ignorance but what's SAB?

Thanks!
