Free Dining 2013

Ok. This is my first time on here. We have been to Disney for the last 5 years and always received the FREE DDP. We are in the UK and are looking for some advice. I see everyone is booking their free DDP today, good news, however, we have had to leave our booking this year til now (work commitments) we normally book earlier and get the free DDP. Does anyone know if free DDP will be offered in August (as previous) for UK travellers.

Unfortunately the UK and US free dining promos never have any correlation - always different release dates and booking dates and usually different levels of plans for different resort. Did you ask on the UK section of the boards?

maybe i'm dumb... or the UI for disneys website is terrible...
but where do I see what I have left to pay?

When I called at 7a this morning- I was armed and ready with my Disney VISA number. The CM told me that since I have all ready paid a $200 deposit on the ressie I did not need to pay another $200 on the Disney VISA. Also the $200 that I paid a few weeks ago when I booked- was not paid with Disney VISA. The CM just told me that I may need to show my Disney VISA at check in.

I was a ligttle but bumbed to switch from AoA LM to POFQ but free dining for 9 nights for 4 people (3 Disney adults) is totally worth it!!

Don't know how to. Any advice?

You definitely do not have to show your Disney Visa at check in. I can't believe she didn't have you put down another $200 payment with your DV card? That's definitely not the policy during a DV FD promo - glad you got your discount though :-)

No, you will just have to price out your trip on the Disney site and not add the DDP - that will give you the FD promo cost.

Thanks for the quick response. So if I run a quote for room/tickets on the site now for September that should be the same cost as with free dining (pending availability for FD of course)? Just want to be sure they aren't using another rate for free dining.

Also the email we got said it has to be a 5 night/6 day package. Can anyone confirm?

Additionally, can you book 2 reservations for rooms/packages at the same time? If we go forward we will take my parents along but in a different room

Sorry for all the questions, just want to have all my ducks in a line and can't stand not being able to see it for myself in black and white. Plus don't want to wait till Thursday if at all possible.

I think having to pay to upgrade is a little crazy. I know you are at a value resort, but you are paying a deluxe price. :confused3

I disagree. AoA Suites are still cheaper than WL and AKL rooms and you can put 6 adults in an AoA Suite without incurring any extra adult charges. You are getting a suite at a value price.

I haven't gotten the email from Disney Visa but got it from all the other Disney sites I subscribe to. lol

We saved over $3800...I believe it is closer to $4000 if not over for 4 adults and 3 kids under 10... Our Oldest DD is 10 so she is a Disney adult. We are going for 14 days. I love FD unless we get a 40% off RD for the YC, then we do CL we save more that way. You just can't beat using the DDP...I don't get why people are against it. I've done the math it saves us so much money. We leave extra money for a tip...higher than the 20% Disney recommends because we are saving money anyways and we always tip 20% when we go out. Unless it is bad service...which we have been very fortunate not to have a Disney! We always have the best servers!

Free Dining has been applied to my reservation! 10 nites (Sept 20 - 30) for 4 people at POR!!

Saved $2200 !!! :cool1:

Seems like the LM rooms are getting a lot less popular now that the discount is out!! I bet they are going to become much more avaliable:thumbsup2 Is anyone keeping their room despite the discount??
I would like to but I would like to save money more :thumbsup2

Doing the happy dance. Couldn't call until 8:20, was only on hold for 10 minutes. I couldn't believe it. Saved over $1200. Thinking of using part of that $$ to upgrade.

The resort rates are set, they don't change when a FD discount is released or applied to a reservation.

All Free Dining promos have 3 night minimum and a 14 night maximum booking. Any other minimum nights you see stated are solely for advertising purposes.

You can book as many rooms as you want under the general public free dining promo.

The UK free dining promo for this August is long gone, but you can book the US free dining offer through a US-based travel agency. UK residents do this all the time.

I would like to but I would like to save money more :thumbsup2

We lucked out with a pin code FD discount on those LM rooms last November/December and the resort is nice and the rooms were cute, but I would never pay full price to stay there. No room is cute enough for me to give up that kind money :-)

I'm confused, how are you seeing more at a value than a mod? Maybe I'm not understanding your numbers. :confused3

Maybe I did something wrong with the numbers?? :confused3 Did 20% off regular rate for ASMo and 25% off regular rate for POR. After adding in our ticket prices it would be just over $2500 at ASMo and just over $2900 for POR. We are paying under $3300 with the free dining. So if we switched to just RO at our current resort would only save under 400 and if we switched resorts to just RO at ASMo it would save like 750. We would spend that even if we ate all counter meals with all of us.

Anyway, I think you were one of the ones letting everyone know it was coming----so Thank You!!! :goodvibes
