We are planning a trip for November 11-16 and are thinking about staying at the All-Star movies resort. We have been many times but this is the 1st time that we will be staying at a value resort. Which building would you recommend staying at to be close to a bus stop and close to the food court but not an area that is extremly busy. Does that exist?? Also, does anyone know if the Osborne ligh show will be going on during that time?

All the building are pretty close and not hard to walk to the food court or bus stop. We have stayed at value resorts many times and I feel they are the most fun because they are so well themed. So it really doesn't matter what building you stay in at an all star because they all offer the same amenities. I don't really know if there will be a non busy building in November we have never been in November so i can't say but usually they all are about the same busy wise. The light show in DHS usually doesn't start until thanksgiving as I recall from research and other boards so it most likely will not be up and running yet they probably will be setting it up though.

I think you would like a preferred building, in a room away from the pool.

Try it! We liked it. We stayed @ Movies last Nov from 17-25. (Fam of 4, DS6,DD2)
It was nice. No frills obviously, but it was a pleasant stay.
We were in the Buzz Lightyear section facing the parking lot. It was quiet. :thumbsup2 If you go around the side of the building instead of going through the main building- the busses are right there! :yay: Also it was not far from anything. Fantasia pool was right there, laundry, playground- right there, food court/main building was a short walk too.

As with everything in Disney, the earlier you get to the food court for breakfast the better! lol

One word about busses tho- the three all stars share busses so it can be a pain if the bus is packed bc Movies is the last stop so not always a seat. :crowded:We only had an issue once or twice during Thanksgiving week. So hopefully the week you're going should be fine. My friend went that week and was happy with the crowd level in the parks. (wasnt at Movies tho)

Overall we really liked the hotel. We are there for the parks so the no-frills nature of the hotel didn't bother us one bit. The themeing was well-done and fun, it was clean, had a little fridge, free wifi- that's all we need. lol We would stay there or any other value again; but I think we want to try Pop next time, just for something different.

Oh- and Osborn lights starts Nov 8 or 9 this year, so yes they will be up before you get there.

Enjoy!pixiedust:

Last year we stayed at ASMo in a "standard" room. We were in the Love Bug section and only saw other guests in that section a few times. It was very quiet! And we were very surprised how short of a walk it was to the front of the resort. If you want to be super close to the buses, you could request Mighty Ducks and just walk across the street to ASMu and catch the bus there (we did that once just to see how close it really was).

As for Osbourne lights, they normally are up by then but I booked a trip a few years ago for that week and we were VERY disapointed they weren't up at that time. Of course, the following year, they went back to having them up that week. :headache:

We were in the 101 Dalmation section last trip (last year). We had a great time. It was not a preferred room, but that was great for us bc we don't want to be near the pool or too much traffic anyway. The walk to everything was very short. We were there during peak spring break/Easter season and had no trouble with the busses. There was once that my husband stood but that was it. We don't have a problem with the value resorts though and choose to stay there. We would rather have a longer trip or go more frequently. :)
One night in the food area we had to wait in line and my 5 yr old neice and
DD5 were getting antsy. A few CM brought out hula hoops, mickey straws and bubbles and BAM! They were entertained and completely happy. We had a wonderful, affordable stay.

Isn't the whole 101 Dalmatians building preferred? I thought only Love Bug and Mighty Ducks weren't preferred.

We have stayed in Fantasia and Toy Story, both are preferred. I know it was building 5 for Fantasia and I want to say #9 for Toy Story but I can't quite remember.

Yes, you are correct. Only the Love Bug and Mighty Ducks are NOT preferred, all the other rooms in all the other sections are considered "preferred".
