I want stamps in my passport!

How can I get my passport stamped at the ports I will be visiting on the Med?

Yep. I just want to look through my passport and see the wonderful places I've been to

ok, that is nice. we have only used ours once, and I guess I didn't really see what they did. I guess we got stamped. I will have to make sure I get them on the ports then.

Really? My daughter was just in France and when she returned changed planes in Amsterdam and they stamped it in the airport even though she didn't leave the security area.

Maybe because she was at an airport and not a port?

If you're flying to an EU country to catch a ship, you'll get a stamp at the airport when you're cleared to enter the EU. Then you'll get a stamp when you're exiting the EU on a flight. But because the EU really means there are no borders anymore, you won't get a stamp when you cross borders via land or on a ship. It's like going from Florida to Georgia. No papers needed once you've been cleared at the first country's border.

I saw it somewhere on here that if you take and leave your passport book at guess service, they can get them stamp at ever port of call. Then you just pick it up at the end of your cruise (or they deliver it to your state room) If I can find the thread, I will link it.

They will do it 'if they can' and sometimes they don't. They will do it for Castaway Cay. On the Panama Canal day, they bring someone on the ship and you can wait in line.

If you give your passport to GS, they will give you a receipt and you MUST have it to pick the passport up (no delivery).

This may or may not help since this for the Caribbean but we have our passports stamped from Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and St Maarten on cruises. I just googled "passport stamped at xx port" or if the search turns up nothing, ask on the cruise critic boards for that particular port. The only thing is sometimes you have to travel into an industrial part of the port to find the immigration office and sometimes the customs agents aren't overly excited about doing it for you. They can also have odd hours, I believe it was Jamaica they don't accept you before a certain time (due to having to get their work completed for the day), and then there was a lunch so we went to the office several times that day!

It makes me smile to look at our family's passports (particularly my kids') and see those stamps

My experiences were at airports. I have no idea how your daughter managed to get her passport stamped in both places. Maybe they made an exception for her.

This has been my experience too. In fact Brussels to Stockholm we got off the plane at Bromma airport and there wasn't even customs or security. You just get off the plane and go get your bag and leave without talking to anyone.

This is not correct - you still need a passport to allow travel to other EU countries, but you will probably not get your passport stamped again.

Immigration generally has lines for EU passport holders and "visitors from other countries". All airports we've visited have had folks manning the immigration desks, but customs does not always have visible agents, however they are normally there somewhere.

Our (10 year) passports usually expire with only a few stamps in it from entering the US, which annoys our DD as her trips aren't officially "recorded".

Not true. On the EBPC cruise we did this based on what we had heard also. Not a single stamp because the custom officials who boarded the ship didn't want to.

Europe does have immigration and customs officials, just like US airports/ports. Visitors (and returning residents) will have to present their passports at airports. Cruising is different, you'll be able to disembark the ship with your KTTW card and photo ID (we normally use our driver's licences, not our passports for this).

I am "European" and travel frequently enough within the EU to know this. The only exceptions I can think of right now is travelling within the UK - I don't need to bring my passport to leave Scotland and enter England.

As for stamps within the EU, they don't usually bother at airports - have maybe received 2 or 3 in the last 20 years. However, I've never specifically asked for them. We haven't bothered asking at ports either as a PP has previously stated, the ports are often a good distance away from the areas visitors may wish to sightsee.

I'm one who would love to have passport stamps but so far only have one from Roatan. They have a booth set up where if you give a donation for the schools (no set amount asked) they'll stamp it.

I'm hoping to get at least one stamp when I go on the WBTA.

You can always get one at Castaway by leaving your passport at GS. Nassau is also easy as the office is right outside the port area (go through a gate labeled 'Security'). You can also get them at St. Maarten (both French and Dutch sides) but we weren't able to because we were there on a holiday.

It is just for fun.

I might try to get one at Nassau when I go in February. So far have never gotten off the ship in Nassau but perhaps I'll trek out just to get the stamp.

I am not comfortable leaving my passport at GS so how else could I get a CC stamp? and would it be a Bahamas stamp same as Nassau? I totally missed this last yr and we have no stamps, need to get them this time
