I am renting a house for the first time and was wondering when the owner should send me a rental agreement. I booked the house in January ( found it on VRBO) and all my correspondence has been through email. I checked the tax records and any reviews I could find and paid the deposit ($200) through Paypal.

I am a little nervous now because when I checked the calendar on VRBO my days aren't marked off. Is this normal?

Should have received one prior to sending any money, but that ship has sailed.

Go to VRBO listing do screengrabs of all information. That way if it changes, you'll have what was there when you booked. If owner has website, go there and do the same on the Terms and Conditions page. Lastly, backup all of your emails.

Then just email him and simply ask for one.

I almost forgot. PayPal is absolutley great for buyers in terms of any potential disputes. While credit card companies will protect you on credit purchases, PayPal protects bank transfers as well.

Rest easy.
