We have been waiting about 1 week for seller to notarize & return closing documents? What is the typical time frame?

There is no typical timeframe. Sellers come from all over the world so it depends.

If they are USA sellers they will be quicker than others. It can take a few days to get things nororised and sent back but if they are foreign it can take a lot longer. We had to get a purchase notorised and had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment at the US embassy. Also our more recent purchase the documents took 2 weeks in the postal system.

So it is highly variable. The contract allows i think for a maximum of 1 month.

Sellers are in US & I would think they would want their $$$

Or maybe they are enduring a trying time in their life, have 20,000 other things on their minds and are very sad about selling the DVC. The same DVC which gave their family so many cherished memories:smokin:

It isn't always as simple as wanting your $$$. you list your points for sale not knowing when they will sell and in the meantime life goes on. For example I am in the middle of a transaction and have returned my documents today, however, I leave on a business trip to Australia on Sunday and am not back until the 22nd of May. Had my documents not arrived with me before Sunday I wouldn't have been able to sign the same document as my husband before I come back on the 22nd.

You can't always predict when you will need to be together in the same place to sign and return.
