when I was there, I was in building 14 alligator Bayou. If I remember correctly, when I walked down the path (really wasn't too far) a little past bldg 18 there was a bench where you could smoke. Also behind bldg 18 near the quiet pool there was an area also. hope this helps and that they haven't changed them since i was there in 2009. Have fun.:)

thank you so much!:cool2:

I was just looking at a map of the Wilderness Lodge and noticed something I found very peculiar - is there really a smoking area outside of the entrance to the Sturdy Branches fitness club? I know resorts need designated smoking areas, but to have one outside of the fitness club seems kind of odd.

Yes, there is. It's a bench with an ashtray.

Yep...it's true! :rotfl2: A friend and I commented on that while we enjoying our morning coffee and smokes. Seemed like a funny place to put a DSA! :lmao: :tink:

I recently went to Busch Gardens Tampa, and Universal Orlando. There is no problem finding smoking areas at either park as all have signs before them. And they are comfy with benches and in the shade.

Why does Disney make it so hard for the smokers, always changing areas, no designated signs. It seems the only way to find a place is to smell the smoke!

It is easy to find the DSA's now.
On the DisneyWorld.com website click on theme parks at top of page,
scroll down to maps.
Bring up the map for park or resort your checking on.
In the option box at top, choose guest services.
In the search box, to the right of the guest services, type designated smoking areas.
They will all pop up with the blue teardrop and you can zoom in for clarity!
Super easy....I added them to my park maps, so we know where to look.

I just checked the WDW Dolphin using this method, and while I can get the resort map, I'm not seeing where the smoking area is. Does anyone who has been recently know where it's currently located, or even better have a picture?

We are staying at Art of Animation in the cars suites. We have one smoker with us, my son inlaw. I was thinking of making a request for a room that would be convenient for him. Any smokers been there and can tell me a good request. Can you smoke at your car in the parking areas of resorts or parks?

Thanks!

Thanks! LOL! But I guess I was asking more specific of anyone actually staying in the cars suites that smokes and preferred one area to smoke in than the other. Was one closer to walk outside to the smoking area more than another. You can't really tell that from the map! I know one building in cars suites is by parking and he will have his SUV, But I don't see a smoking area. I know two have smoking near the lake but I just wondered how close the walk was. I hate for him to walk a mile to smoke! LOL!

Well, for sure he can smoke in his car. Purists will say he can't smoke at it, because that's not a DSA. I couldn't get the AoA map to enlarge to view the smoking areas clearly, bit if it's anything like Pop Century (a) most will be along tge walkway around Hourglass Lake; and (b) any suite/room should be within a couple of hundred feet of a DSA.

Ok! Thanks! I first was thinking of requesting the building (mater building whatever number that is) close to parking since we will all have a car but then I thought of my son inlaw who smokes. I didn't see a smoking area there. I was thinking well he could go to his car and smoke beside it! LOL! None of the rest of his smoke so I don't think of it sometimes. But he wouldn't smoke in his car and he doesn't in his home.

I was just trying to figure out the best building to request for everyone concerned! My grandson would probably say lightening McQueen ! Thats his favorite! I may just say that building even though its a little further to the lobby! It looks like it would have one end to the parking and one end to the smoking! LOL! GS would have his favorite car!

Thanks!

Hi everyone! Idk if this has been posted before, but is there a place to buy cigarettes in Orlando airport? I know you can at the Hess station in DTD but I was just trying to save us a trip lol

my husband loves to smoke a cigar when we're away. we have stayed at POR and AKL and he's not had a problem with the smoking ban. we did find that POR did have better DSAs but i guess they had to think of the animals and wildlife etc at AKL.
A
t AKL there was a DSA near a wading pool that was designed for kids, but we felt that its wasn't really ideal as the pool was actually being used so we moved to one further away from the pool, hidden around the back near the Mousekeeping storage area, which happened to look out over the savannah.

at our next stay, we will have to see where the DSAs are.

I believe I already know the answer to these questions but wanted to double check :)

Smoking is allowed on your cabin deck at Fort Wilderness right?

Electronic Cigarettes - can you only use these in the designated smoking areas?

Thanks!

Sorry if somebody already answered this, but I'm curious about my ecig at Ft. Wilderness. Can I "smoke" it around my camper, outside? If we have other smokers with us (with the regular kind of cigs) can they smoke on the campsites?

You can totally smoke at your campsite and on the deck of the cabins.
Of course, you can't smoke inside the cabins or in the public areas.

Oh - and about the electronic ones - we just did a DCL cruise and they said you could only smoke those in smoking areas too. I would guess it's the same at the parks.

I am a smoker and we are staying at Cars Suites next month. I have never stayed there but have walked it. The Cars area is a close walk to the lake and at Pop I loved sitting by lake to smoke. The walk is very easy. Hope this helps.
