Wow, the Princess marathon sounds so amazing. I'm working on getting into better shape, and now I'm like, "Hmmmm...." That would be a blast if I could get myself into that kind of running shape. We'll see. Haha.

I'm SO glad your mom went with Boardwalk Villas instead of Doubletree. In all the times we've went to Disney, we've NEVER stayed off site. Even if we ended up in a value, we much preferred it to offsite because, hello? It's DISNEY. So I'm glad that it worked out for you and you won't have a damper on your magic. Especially during your birthday!

But like I said in my intro, I'm a disney princess junkie so I used this race as motivation. That and chowing down on some mickey waffles. So its a good goal to have to motivate you! I believe in you!!!!!

i'm glad it worked out too. my mom is a lot more excited about this trip now! She found out from some of her friends about the new Vera Bradley line of disney bags and was curious, then i said the magical words... "you know they make Disney dooneys right?" "WHAT?!" so now she wants to see this mythical wall of Disney dooneys I said existed at World of Disney haha

you should totally go! and it was just by chance we met up with Captain America, he literally just came driving by on a motorcycle with a bunch of other Marvel Characters, got off, and started signing autographs right next to us, so we got in line really quickly

So. We’re officially under 180 days and I made my two ADRs and made a tentative schedule. But theres been some changes, because its not a vacation for my mom unless she completely overhauls all the plans at least 4 times. Though this time its not as drastic.

Over easter I was showing aunt my pictures from the princess half, and also the pictures from Disney in general. She got sad and said, well we’re not going to Argentina until spring, so pencil me in! so my mom’s like well… here’s when we’re going and here’s where we’re staying and this is our flight info. If you want to come let us know a month ahead of time so I can add you. So that’s going to be a fun waiting game to see if she actually comes or not… but not really.

But back to the YAY exciting things. My mom put me in charge of the ADRs, saying I don’t really care where we go, just make the reservations someplace nice, and not super fancy or expensive. She also kept suggesting Cape May because a few people recommended it to her, so she thought it would be a great idea. (this is important) So I called about 8 in the morning of my 180 days and asked to make reservations at Cape May café. That was easy enough and got a great time. I also asked if they had any BoG reservations left over for dinner for my birthday dinner. I apparently got the last reservation on Sunday. Woo! So I was super lucky in that respect so I then planned the parks and our MNSSHP day around when our reservations are. So It goes a little something like this:

Epcot again, this time eating our fill of yummy food and wine goodies

I love Animal kingdom, but I hope it doesn’t turn into a half day park. If it does, I’ll probably stay there on my own for an hour or two before I become too self conscious and head back to the hotel admitting defeat haha

Saturday Oct. 26th
Pool and DTD day
Mostly I just want to go to World of Disney and Tren-D, and my mom really wants to go to the pool so I thought this would be a good compromise

Sunday Oct. 27th
Magic Kingdom and MNSSHP
Dinner at BoG and excitement because I love Halloween and Beauty and the Beast. I’m looking forward to this day the most.

Monday Oct. 28th
Fly home
Sob uncontrollably
wait 2 weeks then get excited because I’m going back to Disney in May for the Expedition Everest challenge…

So after I made my awesome plans with my awesome commentary, my mom discovered that Cape May Café is in fact a Buffet. How she didn’t know this before was beyond me, because I thought she looked it up after everyone recommended it for her. So she got all upset that I would book a buffet when she was the one who told me to. Luckily my aunt and uncle just got back from Disney this weekend and highly recommended ‘Ohana. So my mom learned from her mistake and asked me to show her the menu for “ohana and what it looks like inside and on and on, before going “I like there better. Lets go there”

Meanwhile I’m now at 170 days out and afraid I won’t get said reservation because my mom is now dead set on ‘Ohana. Well my pixie dust lasted and I managed to snag an 8:30 reservation. Not the most ideal time, but it’ll have to do if she wants to eat there on our arrival day. But I also learned that by asking me to pick out reservations and saying I don’t care, she actually means “I really do care, and will exert veto power over you and then choose a really hard to get ADR in its place sending you into a momentary panic”. I know she would’ve been fine if she didn’t get it, but sometimes (like me) she’s weirdly determined and fixated on a certain idea or place, so I was really counting on that ADR

But yeah. So that’s all we have so far. I’m now getting sidetracked because my friend who did the princess with me brought up how she really wanted to do the Expedition Everest challenge one day, and how we’ll need to train really hard etc. I said “you know its just a 5k with obstacles right?” she paused, looked at me and went “well why haven’t we signed up yet if that’s all it is!” so it looks like I have a new trend of going every 7-8 months haha.

So long time no update! There really hadn’t been much to discuss. Until now that we’re about a month away!

Mostly I’ve been frantically applying for jobs before my health insurance runs out in November when I turn 26. No dice so far. So I’ve focused exclusively on jobs in DC, and I really REALLY hope I get one. I really want to move down there!!

So that’s why planning this trip has been on the back burner for so long.
All that changed the other day when my Aunt called up and was like hey, yeah you still going to Disney cuz now I want to go!
Luckily I never removed her from the reservations I made the FIRST time she said she wanted to go, so that wasn’t hard.

However, the fun part comes with her air fare….

Now my aunt is a very smart woman, who travels quite frequently as her husband was until quite recently a full german citzen with his entire family still living abroad. So that means every year they spend a month visiting his family. So I’m not entirely sure how this happened, but it did.
My mom sent a copy of our flight information to aunt about when we’re flying in from boston, so she can catch a flight out of Newark (She lives in NJ) so she went with United and tried to get the flight times that most closely matched ours

Well somehow instead of picking 8 AM to go with our 7AM flight, she picked 8PM which put her coming into BWV at around midnight or so….. which was… well… not good. She’d lose a whole park day and our dinner at ‘Ohana.

So she called United thinking it would be a simple fix. Nope. 300 bucks later she’s now heading down to Disney in the morning, instead of at night. However, they did upgrade her to first class…so she’s happy now, but she learned her lesson to check her flights before purchasing them!

So now we’re all set for that! We have our Magical express stuff in the mail now, and now we just need to buy the park tickets! That’s the only piece of this puzzle that we don’t have.

Another fun story is my mom and the villa....

Now my mom is obsessed with the fact that our villa has a kitchen and had grand ideas of making dinner on the days when we didn’t have dinner reservations and making full use of it. Because why bother paying more money for it if we’re not gonna use it.

So despite all my protests of mom, do you REALLY want to cook a whole dinner after being in a park all day.. she was adamant. We are going to get groceries from garden grocer and make a spaghetti dinner and you’re gonna like it gosh darn it!

So I just went a long with it, just knowing that inevitably this plan will fail and we’ve wasted food. But my mom called 2nd mom all excited about garden grocer and how we’re going to make dinner and 2nd aunt just refused to do that. And my mom then realized how silly she was being. So I guess it had to come from someone else for her to realize that the idea was kinda silly. So instead we’re getting a lot of snacks and some cheese and wine and that’s about it, and abandoning all plans of making dinner and just winging it instead. Which makes me sad cuz I’d love to make more ADRs, but that got vetoed.

So that’s my super long winded update! Hopefully I’ll have more. Tomorrow I’ll post my costume for MNSSHP. You guys can tell me what you think!

So I have another update for you! We were selected for the magic bands and fast pass plus! Yay! So I already customized our bands, so they hopefully will be here some time next week.

But here’s the caveat. My mom likes to undermine what I try to plan. She doesn’t do it on purpose, and I don’t think she realized I planned the trip the way I did to give them the max relaxation time.

So with the whole “waiting for Aunt” drama that happened, my mom kept putting off tickets. Which I understand because it’s a lot of money to shell out at once, and what happens if Aunt does want to come and we can’t get her a ticket, etc... And she was trying to see where the best place is to get tickets.

So my dad is getting the tickets from the tickets and tours office at the military base he works at. Well the problem is that once you get the tickets…it takes 2 weeks to get them. So I have to wait 2 weeks to set up our fast passes. Not a big deal though. I’m just happy we got the bands! Mine will be pink!

Also I put together my costume for the Halloween party!
