ASMo vs. ASMu

Hello Everyone,

We stayed at ASMo last year (after the remodel) and are planning to return there on our next trip. However, I've seen pictures of ASMu and have to admit, it has a more tropical and appealing theme to me, so I'm thinking maybe we should try it out instead.

The resorts appear very similar but I have a few questions for those of you who have stayed at both...

1. Are the rooms the same as ASMo (for the most part)? Do they have the flat screen TVs and fridges?

2. How do the food courts compare? In pictures, ASMu looks smaller?

3. How spread out is ASMu compared to ASMo? We stayed Standard (Love Bug) and were very plesantly surprised how compact the resort was. The ASMu map looks like it can quite a bit further to some of the Standard rooms. I know it's not the same hike as AoA but distance does matter to us (and I'm trying to avoid paying for a Preferred room if possible).

Any feeback you can give me on ASMu will be appreciated. Thanks!

We've stayed at ASMu the past three years and really enjoyed each of our stays. The grounds do seem a little more lush than Movies. The distance from the back of Music to the front isn't really that much different than at ASMo. It has been awhile since I've been to the back of ASMo, so I can't tell you the exact difference.

Food court food is just as good. We've also experienced excellent customer service in all areas of the resort. :goodvibes

Great, thanks! I would think the All-Stars are very similar, with theming being the only significant difference?

When I discussed ASMu with my DD15 she reminded me that we considered staying there the last time but decided we wanted more of a Disney "theme" so we chose ASMo. I've considered Pop but the theming/icon doesn't appeal to me, and the pictures look much less "lush" than I'd like to see while on vacation in FL.

DD15 doesn't care where we stay, as long as she can get the Chicken Penne Alfredo in the food court!! :rolleyes1 What can I say, she's the world's pickiest eater and I swear that was the highlight of our last trip...being able to order it daily at ASMo!

Dd and I are heading to ASMusic in late May!!! We've stayed there before in the Jazz bldg. This time, we requested the Broadway area. It's so close to ASMovies that there may well be times that we eat at Movies just to check it out over there and then just cross the parking lot to get back to the Broadway bldg!! Hopefully we get our request.

I really think that all of the AllStars are pretty similar..except for theming of course.

Fellow cheesehead here. We've stayed at ASMu a number of times, but never at ASMo. Last year, we stayed at ASSp and hope to stay there again this summer. While at the AS resorts, we hop between the three resorts for food and gift shops. The thing I like about ASMu is the rooms are straight out the main poolside entrance. No walking for an extended period of time turning right or left to find your room, just straight back. We always end up some where near the piano pool. That pool seems less crowded and it's quiet back there. Perhaps request a standard room near the lobby. My BIL is also a picky eater and likes the chicken penne alfredo.

Thanks everyone! Yes, we have decided to stay at ASMu in October. Now, to decide which section to request...such decisions! :rolleyes1 The more I look at pictures (and there really aren't many, compared to ASMo & Pop), the more excited I am with the decision to stay here.
