Did I Hear That Right? A Solo Adventure at WDW Updated 8/30

We have brought many of bottles of wine home with us from EPCOT, and they all made it. Disney does a real good job putting it in bubble wrap then a box for us. I put it in a big ziplock and wrap a beach towel around them. I then place it in the center of my suitcase.

They FORGOT their baby???? For 10 MINUTES???????!!!!! What, how, huh?!!?!?!?!?!?! That's just crazy, and sad. I cannot imagine forgetting my daughter, let alone takign 10 minutes before realizing she's not with us.

The mirror really looks like a cool effect. I too like to figure out how things work, so I've looked at pictures pretty carefully. I think I have an idea, but I'm really not sure.

oh another bagel nana lol,I'm so so excited for ETWB I can't wait for that part of my trip woohoo

Yep, I'm pretty consistant with my breakfast selections! :rotfl: I think you will love ETWB. Definitely head there first thing in the morning though. There was always a long line for it during the day.

That family in front of the family in front of you sounds crazy! How could you forget your baby at all, let alone for 10 minutes!!! :scared1:

The CM sticking his head out the door is pretty funny! I wish I had something like that to entertain me when I was waiting 30 minutes in line, but I only had a rude teenager in front of me with her equally rude mother.

The door effect is the coolest part of the pre-show for sure.

I can't wait to hear your opinion on the actually show, since I know how disappointed I was in it.

I don't know how that family could have forgotten their baby! I think they were so focused on getting in line that they forgot everything else around them.

That CM was really funny! I know another of the pages just had a silly face drawn on it. I wish I had written down all of them because I can't remember the rest at this point.

That door was really cool. Hopefully I'll get to the rest of the show later this week.

Now THAT is a cliffhanger!!! Cannot wait to see your updated on ETWB! :surfweb:

Sorry but I think I have over a hundred pictures from the show between what I took and the PP pictures. I don't think I will use them all as the PP ones are mostly just random kids with Belle. I'm hoping to get the next update done later this week.

Just got all caught up!

Sounds like you had a great day at Epcot! I'm glad it got better!

My sister and I missed the welcome show on our trip. We were in MK for Crystal Palace already. Great for Peter Pan but sad that we missed the show!

Seriously left the baby in the stroller? That is one of the craziest things I have ever heard!

I loved Enchanted Tales with Belle. So amazing! I played the part of Lumiere's girlfriend. Didn't think I looked much like a french maid :rotfl:

Love the updates!

I did have fun at Epcot once I started to feel better.

I love that opening show! I dont' make it every trip but try to see it if I can.

Yep, they left the baby!

ETWB was really cute. I'll give a full review in the next post. Other than the two knights, all of the parts in the show I went to were kids.

I may have to try that next time! I always bring a box of gallon sized ziplock bags with me when I go to Disney.

They did have a larger group with grandparents and other kids but still, that was crazy that they didn't notice the baby missing. And I know it was at least 10 minutes because the Dad in my adopted group was back from getting Peter Pan FPs before they noticed.

I think I have some ideas too but it was so well done it's hard to be certain.

How did you find AsMu? As much as I wish I could stay deluxe for my audition trip, I know I’ll end up staying all star, and it looks like music is the cheapest! Did you like it?

Oh my gosh those coats on the welcome show dancers are so cute. And it tells ya how cold it was that day!! I’m so happy Paige had tights with her that worked with my dress, baha! Oh gosh, and all the characters are in their winter wear! Except for Snow…maybe she’s used to the cold? Haha, I have to say, if I was in a parade, I’d probably say screw the winter wear, but hanging out with characters, you’re not moving as intensely….lol

AH!! We saw that Lady Tremaine’s friend at dinner at the start of our trip and she was beyond incredible. Also, I’m pretty sure that Anastasia is the one Tyler proposed to hahaha!!

HA! THEY FORGOT THE BABY!?!?! I wonder how the CM working the stroller parking felt about that! Man, some of the magic in Enchanted tales just blows my mind, I always want to know how everything works, and had NO CLUE how this one did!!

Hmmm, what did I think of ASMu? It was just ok. The resort felt a little worn like it needed a rehab. The food court was pretty limited in choices and I didn't like not having a mug washing station. But I would definitely stay there again because it is such a good price especially if you are going alone. I loved the decorations of the resort, I had no problems with the buses and even though there were a lot of cheerleaders around, they never bothered me. Just keep in mind that it is definitely one step below POP.

I didn't even notice the winter wear on the characters, good catch! It was cool that day but nothing compared to the freezing weather I had on Sat and Sun!

That's funny that you recognize them! If I wasn't in such a hurry to get to ETWB I may have followed them for a bit.

I wonder if the CM noticed the forgotten baby? You would think if they did notice, there would have been someone looking for the parents.

The magic of that show is really neat, I'm glad I went to see it.

Good to know!! I definitely just booked in for AsMu as it was cheapest. As much as I would have loved to do AKL, I just can't afford it right now haha. I did Sports in July and it was definitely a step below Pop, but nice enough for a room to stay in.

I've never stayed at Sports but I'm thinking the two would be very similar.

Once we got into the hallway outside the library, the Wardrobe came to life and started explaining the story to us. This was a really cool special effect.

I got a little distracted by the pretty chandeliers:

The CM had all the kids that wanted a part to come up front and then she opened up the Wardrobe and started handing out parts. First though, she picked two adult males to play the knights.

You can see one of the guys that were picked in the background of this picture.

The CM continued handing out the roles to the kids, taking time to explain what each one needed to do. Once she ran out of the main parts, she handed out other parts such as spoons and forks to any kid who still wanted one.

She then lined up the kids and we headed into the library.

Lumiere gave us some more instructions, he wanted us to yell surprise when Belle came in the door. He was another really well done animatronic. I took some pictures while we waited for Belle to come in. The lighting in here was really weird, it kind of gave a bluish cast to all the pictures.

Then Belle herself joined us:

They then proceeded through the story pretty rapid fire like. Each child just had to do one thing. For example this was the little boy from my adopted family:

He was playing Maurice in the dungeon and all he had to do was “shiver” like he was cold. I took a few more pictures:

And then the story was over as soon as it started. They lined the kids up and had each one come up to get a bookmark and a quick picture with Belle.

I think the real heroes of the day though were the three CMs (one with the Wardrobe and two in the Library) that “wrangled” the kids during the show.

The really kept everything organized before and during the show and the kids entertained while they waited to get a picture with Belle.

I grabbed a Photo Pass card on the way out and I will post some of those in the next post. I think there are close to 100 of them so I’ll just pick the best ones.

But first, my thoughts on the attraction. I thought this was very cute and well done although the story part was very fast. There was a lot of stuff leading up and getting ready for the show and then boom, it was over. That being said, I’m really glad I saw it one time since the theming and effects are so well done. Will I go back again? Probably not without having kids with me. It is a great experience for kids, especially ones who love princesses and Belle in particular but not so much for an adult by herself. I may end up going with DH in October because he is a big kid and would love playing the part of one of the knights. I’ll leave the choice up to him. I walked out of the attraction right at 10 am so the whole thing from start to finish took 45 minutes (I’m estimating 15 minutes to walk from the front, get a Peter Pan fast pass then get in line). I didn’t note how long I waited in line but I think it was about 20 - 25 minutes.

Here are some of the Photo Pass pictures from ETWB.

Maurice shivering in the dungeon. You can see how the CM was right there instructing the little boy what to do:

The Beast scaring Belle.

Chip and Mrs. Potts. if I remember correctly, the little girls just needed to hop.

One of the knights.

Another little girl played Belle's Horse:

Picture Frame:

Foot Stool:

One of the random extra parts, a salt shaker:

Then each kid got a picture with Belle. You can see that even in the PP pictures, the lighting was horrible.

And the two knights got their turn too.

I am so sorry I've been missing...busy two weeks since our trip. But I think I'm all caught up now.

That Queen's Cake at Rose & Crown is calling my name. It looks so yummy.

Good to hear about your hip...hope it starts to feel a lot better with therapy.

You got great Illumination photos...great job. :thumbsup2

We have yet to do Enchanted Tales with Belle. I'm not sure we will with the long lines, so I am enjoying your photos.

That guy with the hidden Mickey was too funny.

Glad that you liked Enchanted Tales! I have to say, I won't be doing it first thing anymore, it just cuts into the early morning park hours too much and I don't think I prefer it to walking onto Splash 3 times in a row, lawl! It is super cute though!

I never thought about grabbing a pp card on the way out because I was never part of the show, that's really bad lighting in even those photos, that's super not cool! I wish the lighting in there was better!!

I didn't even know they gave out the PP cards afterward, I must have just been in such a rush to get out. I agree that it's crazy to wait so long in line and spend about 10 minutes in the pre-show area for a 2 minute rushed show.

You got some good pictures yourself! :)

So, ETWB...Belle doesn't look like Belle. Is is just me or was that a very strange looking Belle? The hair, the look, IDK. :confused3 That being said...I am sure we will have to try it. I love how they let ALL the children participate if they want to. :goodvibes

CANNOT wait to see you pretend to be a 2 yr old...temper tantrum? :rotfl2:

I agree...definitely "NOT" Belle looking.

Don't worry about getting behind, I know how real life can get in the way! Whenever you get here is fine by me.

That cake was really good athough I never figured out what to do with the stuff in the shot glass!

Thanks about my hip. It's been doing a lot better already, I had very little trouble when my Mom and DB were here and we walked a lot.

I would say do ETWB one time just to see it. First thing in the morning worked well because the line wasn't too long. It was at least 50 minutes other times I went by.

The hidden Mickey guy was great! He kept us entertained for quite a while.

It did take up a lot of the morning time. But the line was so long later in the day, I'm not sure if that would be good too. I haven't ridden Splash since 2011, I'm hoping to get on it again in October.

The CM by the door was just handing them out to everyone. He had like 30 in his hand so I just grabbed one. And since I'd already pre-purchased the CD I figured more pictures for me!

Yeah it's definitely not worth an hour wait for the short show. I'm not sure they could do it much longer though or the lines would be even worse.

I knew about the PP cards from reading on the DIS!

Yeah, I didn't think she looked like Belle either. I actually meant to mention that in the post but forgot! I'm thinking they are spreading themselves too thin with the number of Belles they have doing Meet and Greets. I bet they are having trouble finding enough friends for Belle.

One thing I forgot to mention in a previous post is that when I was on the way to ETWB, I saw a sign that said that the Little Mermaid ride would not be open till 1 pm that day. I figured it would have a huge line that afternoon because of that so after ETWB, I headed over and grabbed a Fast Pass for it.

I’m pretty sure that was the last Fast Pass picture I took. Then I headed towards Peter Pan to use my first FP. First though, I stopped to take a few pictures of the new Tangled themed bathrooms. They weren’t open yet and the wall was still up, I missed the opening by a few days. From what I could see, the area looked amazing.

I used the old restrooms across the way (had to get that in since they will probably be gone the next time I’m there. Yea, I’m weird, getting sentimental over bathrooms) and then headed to Peter Pan.

In the third picture, the guy in green was part of the family that adopted me in the ETWB line. We waved at each other as they were taking off on their flight. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Neverland and then decided it was time to revisit my childhood and spend some time in an area I don’t get to very often.

On the way I took some pictures of the Mine Coaster construction including one using the “take a peak” windows they added.

I’m sure it’s much further along now. I read not too long ago that it was about 60% complete. I’m really excited to try it and am hoping it will be open when I go in February 2014.

I also saw a few some of the new Fantasyland performers but didn’t linger too long as they were pulling people out of the crowd and I didn’t want to get picked.

I continued walking and noticed that they were doing some renovations in front of the Winnie the Pooh ride.

I contemplated riding WTP but the wait was 50 minutes and I couldn’t get a FP yet since I had the Little Mermaid one. I never saw the line for this ride at less than 50 minutes all week and as a result, didn’t get to ride it.

Next, I saw this crazy line for the tea cups and knew I was in for some large crowds that day.

By now, you probably have figured out where I was heading.

You see, when I was 2 ½, My Great Aunt and Uncle took me to Disney World for the first time. I know we rode lots of rides but my Great Aunt loves to tell the story of how I dragged them from Dumbo to the Tea Cups to Small World to Dumbo to the Tea Cups to Small World…….. Well you get the idea. I don’t ride the Tea Cups much anymore due to my motion sickness issues but I still ride IASW every trip. I had ridden Dumbo for the first time since childhood on my November Mother & Daughter trip. We had always skipped it as adults because of the long lines. This trip I was going to be a kid and ride it again (sorry Connie, no temper tantrums here!).

First though, there was something in that area I had never ridden before so I headed there. And since there are only two rides in Story Book Circus you can probably guess my destination.

Yep, the Barnstormer. The wait time said 20 minutes but I was on in about 10. Some pictures from my walk through the line:

Well, all I can say about that one is that it’s short. The ride barely starts and then it’s over. I’m glad I got to ride it but it won’t be something I stand in a long line for.

I was getting a little hungry at that point so I headed into Big Top Souvenirs to use one of my snack credits. I also wanted to see if they still had the Dumbo shirt I almost bought on my November trip. Sadly, they didn’t have it so I got in line for a snack. I guess I was too focused on shopping and food and I didn’t take any pictures in the store.

I got my snack and found a seat on a wall near the entrance to Dumbo. I ended up getting a Mickey Cake Pop.

I was slightly surprised when I bit into it to discover that the ears were marshmallow. For anyone who is grossed out by food with a bite out of it, skip over this next picture.

I’m not the biggest fan of marshmallow so while the cake part was delicious, I’m not sure if I’d get another one.

While I was sitting there, I noticed they had a clown doing a street show.

I didn’t watch for very long though because it was time for my favorite childhood ride. The wait time said 30 minutes.

Mom and I had done FP in November so I was excited to see more than a glimpse of the new play area. It was very crowded in there so I just found a seat along the wall to wait. I did take lots of pictures of the area.

I don’t think I sat for more than 10 minutes before my buzzer went off. As a matter of fact I was completely finished with the ride in less than 20 minutes.

I just love the new shiny ride with the cool water effects so of course I took some more pictures.

I probably shouldn’t admit this but I got a little freaked out when the ride started. I do not like heights but I’m usually ok if I’m strapped in and feel safe. You will never get me on a Ferris Wheel though where my feet dangle. When we first started out, I was sitting in the middle of the Elephant but immediately started sliding to the outside. That didn’t happen when Mom and I rode together. For a few seconds I thought I was going to fly right out of my Elephant. But once I hit the end of the seatbelt, I was able to relax and enjoy the rest of my flight.

Isn't it wonderful reliving our childhood? I believe Mark does that every single time we ride Dumbo. I'm with you...not a fan of the Tea Cups.

Your Mickey sucker looked great until it got to the marshmellow. :confused3

I wonder why Under the Sea was down so long?

Ah Man, no temper tantrums? :confused3 Oh well, a ride on Dumbo is great too! So every review I have read about Barnstormer says the same thing...Short! Guess there just isn't anything else exciting or memorable about it. :worried:

I cannot wait for the mine train ride though. I love it that MK will have another great roller coaster...I (Heart) roller coasters! ::yes::

Tea Cups are the one ride that makes me queasy no matter what. I can (and have!) ridden roller coasters that do barrel-rolls and loops over and over, back-to-back, but cannot do those tea cups without feeling sick when I get off.

I like Barnstormer, but it is very short. I'd wait a max of 20 minutes for it. Beyond that it just isn't worth the wait.

I really love Dumbo. :goodvibes
