Am I going to be disappointed?

Ok, We are planning a trip in Oct. Will be myself, my DGS who is 3, my DBF and her DGD who is 2. We are planning on staying at AoA, but wondering if I'm going to be disappointed. This will be everyone's first time except for myself. I've been to Disney several times but usually stay at a Moderate or Deluxe resort. The pictures look awesome and look perfect for the two little ones. Please tell me I'm making the right decision..

OK, I've also been debating on staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. Mainly, we want something that the little ones can walk into the pool and there is a little area for them to play in.

Any advice? Never have been to Disney with such small kids... Mine were 6 and 9 when we started going to Disney. Thanks...

We went to AOA last fall. Previously we had stayed at ANimal kingdom and The Swan and Dolphin so I was slightly worried. We ended up really liking it though. The theming was amazing for small kids and having the extra room in a family suite was worth it. I don't know anything about the Caribbean Beach resort but there is a thread dedicated to just that resort so would recommend checking that out.

I am an AOA <3'er! Are you going to be in a suite or a LM room?? I think you might be slightly upset with a LM room (length from the main building, size) but if you are in a suite I think you will LOVE IT!!! The entire resort is fantastic. IMO The bathrooms in the suite are fantastic compared to the other values in the way they are set up and I even think I would prefer them to the way a mod is set up as both bathrooms are totally contained no curtains you get real doors The mater bathroom is a walk in shower and the one in the cars suite was very, very nice!! Tons of counter space and the master bath was pretty big for a value!! The zero entry pool and spray pad really make the pool area stand out and the cozy cone pool with the cabanas are just to cute!

Now if a relaxing feel and ornate landscaping, hot tubs and proximity to parks is what you are after... then it might not be for you but the fun factor is totally there!!!

AOA is a wonderful resort. We haven't stayed there, but were at Pop last August and wandered around AOA to check things out. The pool has a zero entry side and also has music/sound piped under water. There are splash pad areas for children to play. The whole resort is visually appealing. I took tons of photos of the Cars and Nemo areas. (The Lion King area didn't appeal to me as much as the other areas.) I can't imagine adults being upset with children playing on the playground, splash pad, and pool. If they do, they need to chillax and go to a different area. Have fun!

That's all you need to know.

You've never been to Arts of Animation but I can tell you this - if you go into the trip thinking you will be disappointed and you let that spill over to your DBF and the kids, ALL of you will be disappointed.

You need to have an open mind and positive attitude. THAT will make the vacation.

We stayed at AoA in a LM room during Xmas last year and were so impressed with the resort & the room! I can only imagine a suite would be even better! We have stayed at all level Disney reorts & are DVC members. We went from our 1 bedroom at WL Xmas week to the AoA LM room and didn't even care about the room size difference because the room and resort were so wonderful! It's a great place, the kids will love the Nemo pool and room. You've picked the perfect resort so don't worry!

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on resort level if the facilities arent a concern. I have stayed at value and deluxe, and sometimes it sounds as if people are afraid the silly value resort will be a dive resort off the turnpike

It will be differences like double bed v. queen, square footage, pool slide, hot tub, table service, etc. But it is still disney so not to worry! Plus, AOA is brand new, has indoor hallways and a great food court. The little ones won't care about the towel plushness or thread count

Thanks everyone.. I've NEVER been disappointed with any of the resorts we have stayed at. Just wanted to make sure, which I was pretty sure anyway, that the two toddlers would have fun. That's what it's all about...

Well if the kids in question were running around at a pool area, then there's room to complain, because that's flat out unsafe and should be stopped immediately.


We visited AOA to eat and use the arcade, and it looks like great fun. A bit big and stark in between the painted buildings, but I think that's just what I notice, not what the kids with us noticed.

As for kids being disappointed...gosh, I think most kids can be thrilled by the most basic Motel 6 with a rectangular pool outside...something like AOA will be absolutely fabulous.
