BLT Waitlist - Survey Says???

I'm on the dreaded waitlist for a 2BR at BLT the thurs-sat of jersey week (also end of F&W). As I am a newbie to all this DVC stuff, curious as to everyone's opinion on my % chance of actually getting the call.

My own personal opinion on my chances, based on what little i know, would be about 10%. What do you think?

My guess is it will be hard. That's the same weekend as the Wine and Dine Half Marathon. I know we tried to get a one bedroom (easier to get than a two bedroom or studio) for the marathon once and it never came through.

Did you book something else in the mean time?

Yes, we have a 1BR at SSR. Not happy about the current situation so hoping waitlist comes through.

we have a 2 for 2 success rate at waitlisting BLT, one was for presidents week and the second for late August.

We always want a 2 bedroom dedicated, lake view and so far have been lucky.

Try breaking your wait list request up into two stays -- shorter stays are easier to get than longer ones. Of course, if you don't have the points to keep the 1BR for the entire stay, while holding one half of your 2BR stay (if half comes through), you'll have to be prepared for a split stay.

If you have another active waitlist, this won't work either.

Make sure you are trying to get a lake view -- much easier to get than standard.

I would guess you have about a 10% chance of getting a lakeview and much less of a chance of getting either other view. You are looking at a time when there are really no rooms to be had at any DVC resort so there is not likely to be much movement- you would have to be able to check almost constantly to have a chance of getting the room you are looking for.

Just remember that every time you make a change to your waitlist you go to the bottom of the list.

OP - Hope you get your waitlist, but that is a very tough time to get - the race & Jersey Week combined make it very, very popular.. IMO, you will be staying at SSR.

I wish I had the studio - price difference is huge. I would take a 1 BR at OKW too but can only waitlist for one property so did BLT as its our #1 choice

We'll probably see each other on the bus at SSR, haha.
