November or December?

We are from MN so we know cold weather. Our first choice is early December. We have done early November and it has been too warm for us, upper 80s. The misters were going in the parks. We have never had too cold of weather in early December.

Thank you for your experience! This definitely helps!

We are going this year in November and are hoping for warm enough weather for swimming.

That being said, we were at WDW around December 10, 2010 and - no word of a lie - the temperatures got down to 29. Yes, that is Fahrenheit! We froze! I know before we went that I had read that the weather could be warm during that time of year, and it could be cold. Lucky us, we got the jackpot of record lows :crazy2:

Good luck!

Oh my goodness!!!! I'm sorry you had that weather. I really hope that's not a norm! I'm slightly nervous now. We are booked for Nov 30-dec 8

We were there last year on 11/1-11/7 and DID see both Halloween and Christmas decorations! Our last night at MK they did the the castle lighting! It was awesome! They had just started decorating but it was fun to see!

Yup, been there, had that weather. Was there in 2010..it was brutal!!! I've had almost as cold weather other years as well!!! There has never been a Dec that I have gone into a pool. Yes, the pools are heated..but you have to get out of that pool eventually!!! The air is cold. 50 in central Florida is chilly.

The thing to remember....usually the week after Thanksgiving is late this year. There is usually a week in between Thanksgiving and that first full week of Dec. So a lot of people have found that week to be wonderful. And it was. But this year, the first week in Dec is immediately following Thanksgiving. It is a very desirable time for DVC owners...many go down this first week. Then, add to that the PopWarner kids arriving that week. I have been to WDW every year since '03, in early Dec. And it has been wonderful. And I usually don't have much trouble booking my stay at BWV, but this year? Didn't happen. I missed my 11 month booking window by a week....wasn't able to book at BWV!! There will be a lot of people heading down this particular week.

The holidays are wonderful at WDW. I love going at this time of year. BUT...the weather can be wonderful, or it can be downright cold!! I've been there when I could wear a tee shirt and shorts every day, and just put on a sweatshirt at night. BUT...I've been there when it was too cold to wear tee shirts and shorts at all...other than for about an hour midday, in the sun!! Layers are the order of the day in Florida in Dec.

Oh no! Now I'm nervous I chose a bad week. Sounds like I may be in for bad weather and bad crowds.

Us too. We're are planning a Disney trip for this Veteran's Day weekend because we figured the the weather should be good & crowds wouldn't be so bad compared to the Holidays when the kids have their school winter break. Let see... hoping for the best!

UGH! We have never been there for Xmas either and were thinking about the first week. I'm kinda leery about the weather too. Don't want it hot but don't want it cold either!!! And was hoping for low crowds. Now I'm confused as whether to go at this time.

We are going the first week of December this year. It could be warm or it could be cold. There is no way to predict it. But I do know that we have a good chance that it will be warmer that first week than it will be later in December. And all the Christmas decorations will be up and it will be magical. :)

I was hoping for a low crowd period, too, but since Thanksgiving is so late this year we might not get it. But it might be lower than later in December. And it is before Pop Warner, which is nice. :)

We went the 1st week of December last year and thought both the weather and crowds were perfect. It was high 70s almost everyday. We swam daily. For us I would much rather it be on the cold side then blazing hot. I knew the weather could be unpredictable so we were prepared with mittens, ponchos, shorts, jeans, etc... Ended up packing a ton but oh well!

I was there, too at that time. The weather was chilly all week. I could cope with it, but the morning that it was only 29 degrees was really unusual. I was at The Beach Club Villas, and as I walked over to the Yacht Club for breakfast it was 29 degrees then. We Could Have Had Snow!! I think I actually would have been upset if it had snowed.

We went 2nd week of December last year and came in time for all resort decorations as well as perfect temps of 70s-80s! It may have gotten a little cool at night because I remember DD needing a light jacket to watch fireworks and to meet Santa during MVMCP. I will never forget when we came in Dec over 10 yrs ago it was high 30s and we needed to buy Mickey sweatshirts and mittens because it was freezing!

The Osborne lights will be up on November 8th this year. We were there from the Fri after Thanksgiving til Dec. 6th in 2011 and the weather was quite nice. Absolutely perfect for the parks every day, and even used the pool 4 or 5 times. It was chilly but not freezing. We are going for the Halloween party this year and unfortunately leaving 2 days before the lights start.

Last year, I was at WDW with my sister across the Veterans Day weekend. Then I went to WDW the second week of December with my DIL.

The Veterans Day weekend, we both needed hoodies and jeans. It was very crowded because of Jersey Week, Veterans Day and Food & Wine. The Holiday decorations were starting to go up in the parks. Resort decorations were not happening yet.

The second week of December, we wore shorts and wicking shirts as it was quite warm. The parks were not crowded. Parks and resorts were both decorated and it was beautiful! There were more holiday decorations in the parks than when I was there in early November.

However I've lived in North Florida for over 40 years. After Halloween until end of April, the weather can be anything at any time.

My neighbours went the first week in January 2 years ago. He had to buy a winter ski jacket because it was so cold. He got it from the shop in Norway..so imagine what that cost him, but he couldn't stand it anymore!

I am so excited for our Christmas trip (3rd week of December). Hot or cold we'll have a blast. However, we're also going in August so I know I'm going to get my fill of hot pool weather.:crazy2:
