Resort parking question

If we are staying at a resort we can park at our resort and the parks for free. But how about other resorts? If we have breakfast ADR for say the Cape May Cafe and we drive over there can we head to Epcot after breakfast and leave our car in the BC lot for the day? Or do we have to drive to the Epcot lot?

No, parking at the resorts isn't intended for park access. You should move your car to Epcot when you're finished.

If you pay for valet, you will not need to move your car after breakfast. If not paying for valet, you will have to move your car. You typically get 3 hours free parking at a resort you are not staying at to eat and/or explore.

that would be a pretty nasty thing to do to guests of the BC when they drove in looking for a spot to park.

When you dine at a resort you are allowed to park there for 3 hours.

Resort parking is not intended for park access. So, if you eat at a resort, you are expected to move your car to the desired park's parking lot when you finish eating.
You may leave your car there if you pay to valet park.
Do people park at, say, BC, and eat and then head to Epcot for the day? Sure they do. And most of the time people get away with it. But, here's the thing...if you're intent on doing this? Please be considerate of those paying the high rates to stay at that resort and park in a distant parking spot if you're going to leave the car. Try not to take a close spot...just more polite to allow those staying at the resort to use those spots.

I really wish Disney would institute a keyed entry system for some of the resort lots. They could leave a distant area open to those who are using the facilities but that would enable those staying at the resort to continue using the near to resort spots.

So I guess I worded the original post wrong...I was not trying to get away with anything! I was just asking what was permitted!! Since we have ADRs at YCBC for breakfast and dinner Valet parking may be the smartest move. Thanks!

I agree, but it is clear Disney Management does not care about guest satisfaction when it comes to resort parking. Every morning you get a perspective on how many non guest were in the parking lot from the day before. They zone out close parking for their valet vendor and leave resort guest to fight for what is left. It is time Disney creates resort parking to ensure resort guest have a place to park that reflects their appreciated and getting what a deluxe resort is suppose to provide.

They don't believe the rule is appropriate, doesn't apply to them, a rule is just a guideline with deviation allowed, their a narsacist, or the rule is for rule abiding people. It's Disney property, they set the standard and expectation with Disney defining and communicating the rules, thus their responsibility to enforce. When rules are not enforced it cast doubt if the rule is actually a rule, other than a rule for law abiding individuals. Others on the other hand tell others they were able to do this or that even though the rule stated otherwise.
