2013 Free Dining Watch

I can understand large families and the savings they would receive. I have always paid oop except for the first time I got the fd in 2011. It was just my sister and I and believe me I never ate so much food. The problem is I'm not a big eater and if you can believe it I found it a chore to be at a sit down meal every night. I should have gained weight but with all the walking we did I guess we burnt it off. And when I have paid oop, we very rarely ate burgers or chicken nuggets. But we've never come close to spending that kind of money. Also we are a family of three and I have a son who does not eat meat so maybe that's why.

What is the *** deal. This acronym escapes me?

Wondering the same thing. ***??? :scratchin

Magical Vacations Travel. They offered a deal for the end of August this year, starting 8/18 through some time in September at either the BC, YC, or GF. I paid $3200 and change for two rooms at the BC, five nights, 8 day park hoppers for five with a bonus feature (water park entry or DQ or golf). I can't remember off the top of my head, but it came out to something like $2800 less than doing it directly through Disney.

Im relatively new here! been lurking for a while, but just signed ip!! Just a quick question. We are also waiting for the dining to come out. We arrive in disney on sept 26 and leave oct 6th...
If they offer the fd, does it have to be offered on the day we leave? Say it's offered on Sept 29th, will that cover our days on sept 26th as well? Just curious, and biting my nails waiting to hear about FD!!

Historically, as long as your check in date is a covered free dining date, you get free dining for a maximum of 14 nights. There is also a 3 night minimum stay as well as a minimum 2 day base ticket for everyone on the reservation ages 3 and up. And in case I haven't already told you, :welcome: to Disboards!

ETA: I already welcomed you in another thread. I thought your screen name sounded familiar. Did you know that you posted your trip dates as Sept. 26- Oct. 26 in the October thread? :rotfl: I commented on how awesome it was that you were staying for a whole month. Lol

As it turns out, Disney is going to make an announcement Thursday (April 25) regarding a summer event involving Monsters Inc which will include another 24 hour party at Magic Kingdom on May 24. Not exactly the announcement we wanted to hear on that date, but if anyone will be there during that time, it could be exciting.

Hmmm- interesting!! I won't be there then- but it's exciting to know at least they are up to something!

Awww... I saw that too and really wanted to hear how you were planning for a whole month trip!! Although 11 days will be a FABULOUS trip, a whole month certainly sounded dreamy. :cloud9:

you guys will probably think i'm crazybut I had figured out how much it would cost to stay a month -- first you buy an annual pass - we have a family member with a DVC so we can get 100 off - so for 400 a person we can get an AP nd go all year...then we wait for free dining - we book it on line and change the tickets to one day -- (you still get free dining for the whole stay)....you bookpop century - which I love -- and it would cost you 3,400
for 2 or 3,600 for 4 people plus 400 perso for annual pass.....justa wonderul day dreampixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Also, I think that fd is limited to a 14 day stay so you would have to book it twice. So you would need 2 two day park tickets.
