Plan to stay 4 nights at Pop and then switch to DVC rental for 3 nights. How do I get dining plan for entire stay? Book it for 4 nights then 3 nights? What is the minimum number of park tickets you have to buy to get the ddp thru a dvc rental?:confused3 Help please!!!!!!

then switch to DVC rental....

[I'm assuming you are renting from an owner or site like David's, not renting directly through Disney...]

Oh that makes it easy! There is no minimum number of days, nor is there a ticket-purchase requirement, when getting the dining plan while using DVC points (either yours or someone else's).

So for your POP stay, you'll buy the tickets you need for your vacation and get the dining plan that makes sense for you (quick service, normal, deluxe) over those 4 nights. Those credits will be good until midnight of your POP checkout day. When you switch to the DVC rental you will have a shiny, new set of dining credits (again, quick service, normal, or deluxe) for the nights of the DVC stay. Just keep on using your ticket (you should be able to put it on your new KTTW if that's important to you) that you purchased with the initial POP stay package.

You'll just have to work out putting the dining plan onto the DVC stay with the owner; they will have to arrange it for you, and they have to pay it in full when they arrange it. So you'll have to pay them, somehow, for that dining plan. The details are between you and the owner.

As long as you are paying OOP for the plan. No tkts are needed. But for your DVC rental portion of the trip. I think the member has to add it for you.

Buy tickets with your Pop Century package that cover your entire stay. Then add DDP to both reservations (separately). You do not need to purchase tickets at all to add a DDP to a DVC reservation. You will have two separate dining plans. Credits from your first stay will expire at midnight after you have checked out of Pop Century so make sure you use them all up on that day, if you have any left over. It means you'd need to keep your Pop Century key card to pay for meals with any leftover credits - you can't have them transferred to the AKV cards. You may be able to transfer the tickets, but not the dining credits.

this is a great question ! I am in the same situation, however i am staying DVC first and then switching to either the poly or akl. if i buy a 10 day pass that i will need to start to use on the first day of my DVC stay (and add the DDP to that reservation) how can i add dining to a room only package through disney?

While it would seem that you're in the "same" situation, unfortunately you're not.

You cannot add dining to a room only reservation. If you have an AP or are staying on military rates you can have a ticketless package, but otherwise, you'll need to add tickets in order to add the dining plan to the Poly or AKL reservation.

If your DVC stay is a short one you can pick up your park tickets from the Poly or AKL package up to 3 days before the start of your Poly or AKL stay. Info on how to do this is on the ticket sticky on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board.

If your DVC stay is a lengthy one and you don't qualify for the ticketless package at Poly/AKL, it would be better to do just a room only for the Poly/AKL and pay OOP for dining on those days.
