Thank you!!

for December. It's not looking so good for discounts, right now. I believe there may be a little incentive for your dates, but I wouldn't expect a lot this year.

I agree with Bete that it's too early, but just to show what mousesavers shows for last year's deals for your dates and when they came out:

9/30/12-12/13/12 package deal (“free dining”) for Disney’s Visa cardholders became available on 7/9/12, exp 9/29/12

9/30/12-12/13/12 package deal (“free dining”) for general public became available on 7/12/12, exp 9/29/12

9/30/12-12/22/12 5%-30% off general public room-only rates became available on 8/27/12, exp 9/29/12

9/30/12-12/24/12 20%-35% off Annual Passholder room-only rates became available on 8/28/12, exp 12/24/12

9/30/12-12/24/12 20%-35% off Florida resident room-only rates became available on 9/4/12, exp 12/15/12

11/1/12-12/22/12 5%-30% off general public room-only rates became available on 9/24/12?, exp 10/31/12

For your dates and resorts, it would have been 30% for the room only discount:
For stays September 30 – October 6, October 14 – 20, October 28 – November 3, November 11 – 17, November 24 – December 1 and December 10 – 22, 2012

Save 30% at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (Standard View Rooms & 1-Bedroom Villas at Kidani Village and Jambo House), Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney’s Old Key West Resort

Good luck and hope you see a great deal this year! :thumbsup2

I'm waiting as well, but it doesn't look too good, IMO, for big discounts. We are going to be there 12/16-12/19 and then 12/22-12/24 (with a 3 night cruise in between) and I noticed the week of the 16th is now peak season pricing rather than value.....and of course the 22-24th is holiday pricing :(. But I'm not giving up hope as anything is possible and even the littlest discount is something :goodvibes.

Planning our first WDW trip. DH,DD (4) and I. Decided 12/1-12/7. Polynesian TP view room. No meal plan. 7 day parkhopper tickets. Am I ready to call and reserve? Will be using my Disney Visa so does the 6 month interest free financing automatically register?

Thank you, Seahunt! That's interesting, and good to know.

Last year we stayed the third week in December on FD. I inquired about a bounceback and there was a room discount but no free dining offered. IIRC the discounted dates were 11/30 thru 12/04 and 12/15 thru 12/18. Really short time spans, would not cover most people's entire vacation.

Pop Warner is between those dates, as is the MK parade taping. They never seem to discount the PW and parade taping dates. PW is usually the first week of December, but with Thanksgiving late this year it has been pushed up.

Of course things may change and discounts might be offered, but going by the bounceback dates it doesn't look good for December 2013.

Do you have the specific dates for PW this December? Where do they usually stay?

Thanks for the info. Pop Warner is what exactly? I keep hearing the term. Our dates are definitely flexible as we are driving and can take off work flexibly so hopefully that will help. But even a few nights helps :)

Hey mcjingles, pop Warner is when our happy place is over run by cheerleaders, and ball teams, it is defiantly worth missing it is a huge headache. But on the positive side they all stay at the values, and moderates most of the time, so with you staying Poly it won't be so bad, until you hit the parks. Good Luck. By the way we are supposed to be there that week as well.;) can't wait.

Looks like I picked the perfect week PW starts 12/7 :)

I just spoke with a cast member that couldn't confirm, but suggested I'd book now to get what the location I want and that I should keep a look out for specials they normally offer for the month of December. I tried to see if the free dining was a possibility but she said she didn't know what the discount would be but was fairly certain one would become available.

I have spoken to 2 CMs that have told me the same thing. One asked if we would do the DP if it wasn't free and I said no.

Yes, there should definitely be some discounts that week, there always are. I would say 30% off deluxes, but that will probably only go through the 18th or 19th. Free dining has been offered for those dates for the last 4 years and would most likely save you more money than a room only discount, because a day or two if your stay will be probably be blacked out for room only discounts, but FD will be almost useless with a split stay.

I've also had a cast member tell me the same thing for our dates, to keep a lookout on some discounts that would become available and to call back and ask them to add it to my package. We have the DDP but I'm assuming it's free dining. Looking at years past, that seems to be what we'll end up getting.

If you scroll down a few clicks you'll see Disney's History of Discounts for the past few years. Definitely worth a look to compare years.
