I thought I might give a little information on the Buzz family prior to our reallyclose upcoming trip to give you a little frame of reference. Our family consists of me, DH, DS, DD1, and our newest member DD2, born in November 2012. We live about 7 hours away from Disney so we have usually go several times a year. It has been a fairly long time(last May) since we were last in the world due to a lengthy ongoing project for DH at work and the arrival of our new family member.

DS and DD1 have been terrific about the arrival of their new sister so this trip is to celebrate them. Both of their birthdays are in April. DD1's was last week and DS's birthday will actually occur while we are in the World. He will be eight and DD1 is five.

The twist for our trip is that almost every single one of our ADRs was selected by DS and DD1. The first day is a split choice day with DD1 choosing our lunch spot and DS choosing our dinner location. The remaining days are an even split, with DS choosing the ADRs for the first set of three days and DD1 choosing the back set.

Where will an eight year old boy and five year old girl choose to dine in the World? Well, you will have to check out the pictures to find out. They defintely have their favorites and DH and I have a few surprises for them as well. ;)

And to make it simple, you can just call me by my name, DeeDee.

Looking forward to this as I have a 5 year old girl too!

Can't wait to be a live reporter in just 9 days! I've got your # all programmed into my phone :dance3::dance3::dance3:

We are on the QSDP this year since my mother is coming with us and she is not much of a table service gal. It will be me Jessica, DD8 April who will be turning 9 on our trip, and my DM Rita.

Hi Barb. I know you forgot me for August, cause I volunteered back in January after our trip then :lmao: Anyway, we will be there from 8/11-8/24! It will be a split stay between POR riverside and AKL club level! WE also will be celebrating dd's 21st birthday, so lots of drink photos as well as food! I'd love to contribute if you have room for me!

I'll get your trip added to the schedule right away. Thanks for the reminder! :thumbsup2

Next up are a couple of updates from MickQuinn.

She and her family began their day yesterday with breakfast at...

The Mara

She said, "We grabbed some bakery items from Mara to have for breakfast. Unfortunately only one survived long enough to be photographed. This is the chocolate toscardes (sp?). It was flaky and delicious. The brown speckles are tiny chocolate chips and the white seemed almost like crystallized coconut."

Then a snack update from Magic Kingdom's...

Big Top Souvenirs

"We went to Magic Kingdom for the day. We got the Heath toffee Mickey ear brownie. This was tastier than I thought it would be. I'm not sure of the name but it was in the souvenir tent across from Dumbo."

"From the same tent we also got a cake pop. They asked us if we wanted chocolate, vanilla or red velvet. We chose chocolate. The boys bit off the marshmallow ears right away. The cake was dense and fudgy."

"Then today we snacked for lunch to save room for our dinner at Boma. We had the house made potato chips at Friar's Nook along with a lemonade slush. Both were good. Sorry for missing out on pictures... we were eating on the go."

"We also had an order of onion rings at Pecos Bill's. They were ok - a bit greasy."

"And Quinn and I also shared a citrus swirl. It was the first time he had ever had one and he loved it." :thumbsup2

And then for dinner MickQuinn and family headed back to AKL's...

BOMA

She said, "Our waiter was David. He was fine but not nearly as personable as Jeff who we've had twice before. I only got a pic of my first plate. Evidently Wednesday is rib night. These had ancho rub and were quite hot. They didn't have a lot of meat though. Also some roasted NY strip loin. I asked for a slice of well done. My favorites are the bobotie and mater paneer..oh and the couscous... and the fufu. My favorite soup, the butternut squash, was not out tonight. I tried the carrot ginger instead and it was pretty good."

"This is Quinn's plate. He is usually fairly adventurous, but stuck with the basics tonight. He loves the bread here."

"My DH didn't mind the rare strip loin. He also got the roasted root vegetables and a mini corn muffin."

"Quinn had strawberries and zebra domes for dessert. Sorry for the half eaten photo, but it does show the inside of a zebra dome pretty well." ;)

I also received the first update from SmallWorld71 last night and it's a great one from the Flower & Garden Festival booths. Unfortunately, I'm out of time and need to get to work now but I will get this posted to the thread ASAP. My apologies for the delay with your first update, SW! :guilty:

I will be at DW 5/12-5/18 and would love to be a live reporter!

Thank you to all of you for volunteering! :woohoo: I will get you added to the Live Reporter Schedule. I'll be sending out a PM next week to the May team, which will have all my info for sending your updates, zomama. Ivonne and Gin, I'll be in touch with you sometime in late July to give you my info and confirm that you are still onboard to do live updates.

And to answer your question Ivonne, you can send your photo updates in a couple of different ways. If you take your pictures with your phone then you can text them to me, or if you have an iPhone then you can send them by iMessage. You can also send your cell phone pics by email. Also if you prefer to use a regular camera to take your update photos, then you would just download them to your laptop, iPad, etc. and email them to me. Let me know if you have any other questions and thanks again for volunteering. :thumbsup2

We have a short trip coming up 5/31 - 6/4. It will mostly be counter service meals with the exception of Ohana one night. However, we are planning on doing both Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon and I noticed you don't have many reports from those locations. I would be willing to try being a live reporter if you'd like.
