What is there to do to keep my family entertained besides shopping and riding around on the monorail? We have a 5:10 dinner ressie, with Wishes starting at 9. From what I can tell from the Poly thread, it looks like the resort cultural activities are done for the day after we get done with dinner (I'm estimating we'll be done about 6:30 ).

- Have a drink by the pool bar (if it's still open)
- Have a drink on the beach
- Ride the resort monorail around or walk to the TTC and ride the EPCOT monorail and back
- Walk around Poly
- Get a Dole Whip from Captain Cook's and sit on the beach
- Any combination of the above

Maybe you can go on a hidden mickey scavenger hunt? I have heard the hotels sometimes have a sheet with info about it for you to use, but I am not certain the Poly does this.

You have enough time to get back to MK and watch the fireworks from inside the park.

2 1/2 hours is a lot of time to kill with kids.

I knew I was forgetting to mention something. That day is our arrival day and we will likely be checking in to our resort mid-afternoon. We do not have park hopper passes and were not planning to hit any of the parks this day. We plan to watch Wishes from the Poly beach.

LOL! Yes. Yes it is... :scared1: :faint:

Since you're not going until September, maybe see if there's an ADR a bit later? Otherwise, I'd plan to take a full spin on the resort monorail to kill time, then head out and let the kids play on the Poly beach until the fireworks. Have fun!

If you are only going to one park per day, you don't need the park hopper.

You can go to Magic Kingdom for the evening. If you are not planning on doing another park that same day, you don't need park hopper.

there's nice arcades at all three monorail resorts. Maybe do an arcade crawl (of sorts!;))

You could take monorail over to GF and listen to the music in the lobby. It goes back and forth between a pianist and the band. It's a lot of fun. We have spent a lot of time hanging out in the GF lobby enjoying the music. There are usually lots of kids dancing and sometimes adults.

All the deluxes have smallish arcades. That'll take at least 30 minutes of relatively cheap fun.

Go on a souvenir penny hunt? Take a baggie of change and make pennies. We make lots of pennies...

Ride the boats? You could take monorail to CR, then hop by boat to WL and take a nature walk and see the geyser. After dinner there will probably be deer running around. All that transport will burn lots of time.

Just monorail hopping will burn quite a bit of time. I like to go window shop at all the different resort stores.

I'm hijacking slightly. I had been under the impression that you cannot hang around on the Poly beach unless you are at the Poly? Is my "knowledge" total crap or is it okay if you have ressies?

You can hang out at the Poly beach, watch fireworks there, have a drink there, etc. even if you are not a Poly guest. It's very much encouraged actually. Just please don't try to use the Poly pool if you are not a guest.

Thank you!!!! I am so glad to be wrong because I can't afford Poly but would love to watch the fireworks!!

The only time it's usually an issue is during the big holiday weeks, the rest of the year, everyone is allowed to enjoy the fireworks from the beach.
