Not sure if I have welcomed you to the thread in the past, but you can't have too many :welcome: so here ya go!

Thanks for the info. Like you said, IPO does not always contact guests proactively, although they are supposed to, so I think it is a good idea for guests to contact IPO with any questions if you haven't heard from them. Include your reservation number on any emails.

I will watch for you! This trip is just me (average size, red hair, and likely sporting a sunburn) and DH (average size, salt-and-pepper hair, tan).

We will look extremely happy because we won't have anyone else with us! I've done trips with just immediate family, with kids and both sets of grandparents at the same time, and with 100 high school students!

Sounds like a nice trip for just the two of you! My DH and I took many trips to Disney together before the kids were born (including our high school senior class trip together). I hear you on accompanying swarms of teenagers to the World. That was my last trip!

Hello everyone! I have been lurking on this thread for a few weeks, ever since I booked our first-ever trip to BC for July 20-26. You seem like a fun, friendly group, so I thought I'd finally say hello and introduce myself! I am Lynette, a longtime DISer. I used to be a frequent poster on the CB (among other places), but haven't been around much recently.

We have been to WDW several times, but have always stayed at AKL in a Savannah View room. That resort just feels like home to us! But this time around, DH has decided he really wants to mix it up and stay somewhere (anywhere!) different, so BC it is! Based on all the info and photos I've found here, I am sure my family and I will love BC, but I am secretly a tiny bit sad that I won't be staying at AKL. My kids, who really adore AKL too, were won over to BC when I showed them photos of SAB. Plus, we have the recommendation of a good family friend whose favorite resort is BC. We are fortunate enough that this friend even booked our stay for us using a CM Friends & Family discount. :goodvibes

We are actually going to be staying off-property from the 14th to the 19th (totally NOT my idea!), and then moving over to Beach Club on the 20th. So much of this trip is outside of our usual WDW trip that I am feeling angst-y about it. It goes against my inner control freak to delve into the unknown. :rotfl:

Now you all have WAY more info about me than you ever wanted. Feel free to shoot me suggestions about being a first-time guest at Beach Club. Do's, don'ts, whatever you've got! Nice to meet you all!

:welcome: and thanks for the intro!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

The one thing to know as a first time guest is just how great it is to be able to stroll on over to EPCOT in about 5 minutes! And to have really easy access to Hollywood Studios as well.

Hope you love it!!!

:yay: Yay! I can finally say please add us to the Be Our Guest List

We finally booked today. Just dh and I. We are celebrating a big anniv:love:

May 28- June lst Beach Club Standard CL and then switching to Yacht Club June lst to 4th lagoon view.

Teena - I will be the crazy cancer lady with the wheelchair who saw Justin Bieber in the lobby!:) Dh and I will stop by and say hi. :wave2:

TIA

:welcome:

Glad to add you the Be Our Guest list!!! Happy Anniversary and congrats on the trip for just the two of you lovebirds!

POWERADE:

DSCN8635_zps622a2005.jpg

I asked on the beach club marketplace thread buy haven't received a response. I figure this thread gets more traffic, so I'll ask here. Anyone know if powerade is available on the dispensers for the refillable mugs? I'm thinking no, but wanted to check. What about sprite zero? I think these were both options at assp but can't remember if they were there when I moved to bcv. Headed down on thursday.

Have not seen Powerade at BC the last few years, but we did stay a couple of nights at Sports before checking in to BC last year and I noticed the Powerade there. I am thinking it is due to the sports groups that stay there & go over to ESPN.

I asked this on another thread, specifically about drinks in the club level and then now I am reading that someone said there is no powerade in the marketplace. I am also wondering about non carbonated bottled drinks in the club lounge too. I cannot drink anything made with the Florida water, not even ice, sorry it makes me horribly sick. I need the bottled water to take my meds etc.

Just wondering if we should make our usual hess mini mart trip?

Also do they have bananas in the club lounge. I dont see any in the pictures that I have seen so far. I need them for my potassium def. Hence hess stop etc.

TIA

I just responded on that other thread with the contact info for IPO. I think I see bottles of Powerade in the refrigerator at the Marketplace, along with lemonade and possibly bottled ice tea.

When you contact IPO, let them know what you need and why.

I'm pretty sure when we stayed CL last (2010) there were bowls of fruit in the lounge. Apple, banana, oranges. I'll go look for a picture. But if this is something you need, I would let IPO know in advance to make sure they have some available for you.

Here you go- from 2010, BC CL:

These are pictures taken by pixarmom in Oct 2012 of the beverage dispensers for the refill mugs at The Markplace:

I look forward to seeing you. I should be working the Sunday and Monday that you are here.
Give a call to IPO. Ask to speak to Lauren or Michelle (my favorites). Tell them about your cancer and ask about bananas. They have bottled water in the lounge and you can ask for bottles to take back to your room. Also you can ask for smaller bottled water to take to the parks, pool, etc.

Welcome Lynette!!! I'd say you picked an excellent resort for your "away from AKL test" :) The CM's are great! SAB is a must mid-day break. And our favorite part is the nightly stroll over to EPCOT for dinner, an adult beverage, and my two favorite snacks..............Pretzel in Germany and Caramel chocolate covered pineapple with a side of Dark Chocolate sea salt caramel :cool1:

Enjoy Your Stay :thumbsup2

Oops ... guess I should have clarified. I think marsh0013 was asking about Powerade as part of the drink refill stations. Powerade is an option for refillable mugs at All Star Sports but I haven't seen it as one at BC.

Thanks Dee for pointing out the bottles of Powerade are indeed available at the BC Marketplace.

Also regarding Sprite Zero, I recall it only being regular Sprite. But there was Coke Zero in the BC Marketplace. Coke Zero was not available at Hurricane Hannah's, however, that may have changed with the recent renovations and new refill station. I hope so! Coke Zero = :thumbsup2 Diet Coke = :scared:

Does anyone remember what type of shower head are in the rooms at YC. We stayed at POR RR on our last trip they had huge shower heads being short it was awesome. My husband fell in love with the shower.

Does the YC have the same ones?

Getting closer to our YC visit and I am so looking forward to it. My grandson, who lives in CA wants a Disneyland trip for his 12th birthday in June. My husband and I always go visit for birthdays, so we are making my first trip to Disneyland!!!

Made reservations for 2 rooms with my cast discount at the Disneyland hotel and I am so excited. Two Disney trips within a month.:cool1:

That sounds like a Perfect Month to me :)

I do hope to visit DL one day....I know it's not going to be the same, but I just want to say I've been there!!

Hi Lynette :) You guys are going to LOVE love love the Beach Club! :thumbsup2 Being able to walk to Epcot, or even just walk down to the Boardwalk, is so fun! It's a totally different experience than staying at AKL. My DH loves that area so much, all the food, the action, things to do, places to go, I can't even get him back to AKL. ;)

Sitting in the YC lounge right now...right next to a big bowl of apples, oranges, and BANANAS! They keep the bowl out all day.

Oh no! Quick, try to find a big bowl of fruit to sit next to then you can imagine you are here too!

Have a good day! I will swim a lap in SAB in your honor...

Is the same Nescafe machine there in the lounge?

Yup...yuck.

We brought Starbucks Vias with us.

They also have a fresh brewed pot out in the morning that's a little better than the Nescafe machine.

Yes, I've been told that is a "nescafe blend" whatever that means. LOL :confused3:lmao:

Welcome! I think you will love the BC! It has a great location and the pool and CMs are the best at Disney! SAB has something for everyone. If your children are young, the zero entry sand bottom pool is great, and if they like slides, this one can't be beat. Our family loves it here. In fact, we have a hard time choosing anywhere else. On our next trip we are trying AKL for the first time, but we are doing a split stay so we won't miss BCV, our favorite. If you haven't checked out the first page of this thread, it has tons of great info.

Anyone find a way to make the trip ticker move along a little faster?

I don't think I can survive 3 months...
