I don't post on here often, but I had to share. We are leaving in the morning for our first Poly stay! We have two nights at the beach before we head over to Disney. We are all so excited! We've only ever been to Disney once before and we stayed at CBR that time.

Thank you all for all the info! It has really helped my planning go smoothly!

Hello, I have always made my request over the phone for my reservation and then checked in at the resort. I notice on these boards that most people like to check in online. Can I ask the reason that checking in online may be better than in person? I will be at Poly in August and have noted my requests on my reservation. We are headed to the Poly on June 15th!! So excited!! This thread is making it so hard to wait!! This is our first big vacation as a family. First time to Disney. Used the Creative Disboard members for t-shirt designs and autograph books!!DDs 7,6 and DS 2.

We've never used online check in, but I think the only difference is that everything is waiting in a packet for you when you arrive and there is no waiting in line to talk to a CM to go through the check in process. If there are other differences/advantages, hopefully someone will come along with more information .

Thanks! Mixed a couple of ideas I found on Pinterest and some scrapbook paper from SandyLion then added some of my own creativity.. (Which usually I have very little of). I just wanted to make something that I could reuse and was cute. My kids are really loving it!

What is/are your favorite longhouses? And why? We will be staying in January, so proximity to the pool isn't a big deal to us. Also, we don't mind walking. I'm thinking I want one that is more secluded, but I may be missing out on one that is super cool! Thanks in advance!

For those staying the week of April 27, we're staying at AKL the week before, but we do have Kona reservations one night, so I'll make sure to tell them you're all coming!

We'll be there then too! I feel you on the loose ends. My MIL had emergency open heart surgery this past weekend. I actually have this week to finish up lots of loose ends while she is in the hospital. I can't really visit her there because of the distance and taking care of the kids. But once she gets home I will have to be visiting her and helping out a bunch so there won't be much time for extras. Hope that your epidural goes well! I am sure we will both really need and enjoy our vacation!

Still having a hard time accepting it. It's been the toughest year of my life. Lost both my dogs(one on Mother's Day) 4 really close friends, 3 more friends and my mom...so yes, I really could use a good vacation. That's why I'm staying POLY LV. It cost quite a bit, but all the same I needed something "super" in my life after such a tough year. Only thing now is dealing with a crippling sciatica that is affecting my walking and painful neuropathy in my feet. But at least I know that if some days I hurt too much to do the parks, my DH & DGD can hop the monorail and I have a very beautiful resort to relax at! You never know, maybe we'll meet at the resort... Have a great time and I'll send some prayers your MIL's way

Thanks for the well wishes. She is doing well and being released from the hospital today. So other than all the time visiting her the next couple of weeks that is a big stress gone. I am so sorry to hear about your tough year.. You definitely need the Poly and maybe a trip over to the GF spa too!! Hope you get the relaxation that you need! See you in two weeks!

We are in the early stages of planning our vacation!! We had one planned and ready to go for this summer but the Army had other plans for my husband so we are trying for next summer. We are doing a split stay 5 nights at OKW with my parents who are DVC members and there are 12 of us staying in 3 studios and then me ,my husband and 2 children will head over to the Polynesian for 7 nights. I have not stayed there since I was a little girl and I am super super excited. My first question is about requesting a longhouse. I have never made a room request before and really just go with the luck of the draw but I have some preferences for this resort. We would like a patio or balcony and would like a room if possible that has a view of the monorail. WE don't care about the distance of the longhouse from important aspects of the resort since we don't mind walking !!! So help me please!!!
