Express pass ???

Hi all,
Let me just start by saying you guys are great! I am so thanful for all of the info and quick responses everyone provides.
I was just wondering if there are any hotels other than the ones right in UO that offer the express pass? The reason I ask is that i have already rented a house for the week since there will be so many of us and i just can't swing the extra $600 it would cost for two rooms at one of UO hotels. I was curious if any of the "partner hotels" offered the front of the the line perk? Thanks so much!!

Nope.It is strictly a perk for staying onsite.Even the new Cabana Bay resort ( which will be value/moderate pricing) won't have it.HOWEVER you can buy express pass , but it differs in that it only allows for one ride per attraction( resort guests get unlimited).Pricing depends on projected crowd levels, the more crowded the more expensive it is ..Express passes for purchase are DATE specific, Park specific and non-refundable so I recommend waiting till you get to the park to see if it is needed before you buy it.You can buy them in the park

How did you purchase an unlimited express pass if you aren't staying onsite at Universal? I thought that was only available if you stay onsite. Did you buy unlimited or just the regular express pass available to those not staying onsite at Universal?

I'm realizing now that the post above says at the front of the park for the day you are there, or I think that is what it means. So they will sell unlimited express passes at the gates to people not staying at Universal? HOw much is it?

The only thing I have seen about Unlimited Express is on the Universal website and it is a purchase of park tickets with the pass

They will also sell just the unlimited express pass at any place they sell the normal express pass. They will just charge you the difference between the ticket price and the unlimited express with ticket price.

It is very expensive and adds up very quickly, making it a not so popular choice.

So to give you an idea....


1 day Park ticket + Unlimited Express bundle cost.... About $100 more than just your standard admission.

For most people, it's almost always cheaper to go with a single night in an onsite deluxe than to go with buying the unlimted express option seperately (and it's usually still a better deal for most people with the single-use express instead).

Remember that with just 1 night onsite, you get 2 full days of express.... plus the early entry benefit.

Yes, I'm sorry, but you are correct in what I should have said. You can purchase the unlimited express pass for the day you are there. You have to decide if the crowd warrants the $$. And they only sell a certain amount of these passes, so if the park is busy and you decide on the express pass or the unlimited express pass you may want to purchase them early in the day....

Be ready to enter the park at least 15 minutes before announced opening time. You can get lots done in those first couple of hours.

I think I've decided that we are going to get a room at Royal Pacific. We are at Disney all week and only have one day for Universal to do both parks. We aren't interested in shows or water rides, or all of the kid stuff or characters. Just rides! So I have booked a room at the Royal Pacific for Mon night, we will get there 1130 or so that night. Then we will get up to hit both Universal parks on Tues. My question is about the parking. I see that it is $18 for on-site guests. Where exactly is the garage in proximity to everything? Is it the same garage for everything? We will have a rental car, and will be very minimal in what we bring for our one night stay. If I remember correctly, the parking garage is at the Citiwalk complex and you walk to the entrance gates. I'm just wondering where we park for the hotel and if it is the same garage. We will want to go put our stuff in the car before we spend the day in the parks and head back to Disney that evening.

the parking garage closes for the night and you won't be able to use that parking while spending the night at the hotel.

You don't need to move your car. You can just leave it in the RPR parking lot until you are ready to leave. You can either walk to the parks or take the boat. It is a 10 minute walk.
