My ADR Success Story - and some tips for you!

This morning, while travelling on the road, I woke up and made ALL my ADRs for my disney trip Oct 6 -11th. I got BOG at a nice 6:20 dinner time, and a 8:05 Pre-RD crystal palace ressie. Basically I was able to get ALL of my ADRs (and a pre-RD BBB ressie) I wanted within 10 minutes of the times I wanted and wanted to share what I've learned from here and Lines to get all the things I wanted!

Of course MKBroas should get about 99.99999% of the credit because he/she is the one that posted about the old site and really helped so many of us!! And yes, I'm crazy but last time I didn't get BOG or a few others of our choices last trip and didn't want to miss them this trip.

Here are all my tips:

NIGHT BEFORE

1. Log on the night before (new site or old site) and make sure you remember your user name and password. Make sure you see your room reservation. Don't want to waste time the morning of ADR having to retrieve passwords, etc.

2. Make a list of all the reservations you want to make, the dates and preferred times. And then put them in order of popularity so you can make those first. (Ex: You'll want to Make Be Our Guest first, as well as CRT, pre-rd CP, Le Cellier, etc. Easier to get reservations should be made last). Compile your list in order. I made a spreadsheet to help me. I also choice alternate choices in the case that something I wanted wasn't available. Nothing like sitting there waisting time trying to decide what else to do for dinner if something is completely booked.

3. Add the "Old Site" to your internet favorites so it's easy to locate
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/en_GB/

4. Program the dining reservations number into your phone (407) WDW-DINE / (407) 939-3463 in case you need to call

4. Online reservations can be made at 6am EST, or calling opens at 7am EST. If you are in central or pacific time zones, plan accordinly. Set your alarm for 5:45 EST - or earlier if you are like me and like to hit snooze, or if you need to hit the restroom or grab some coffee. I set two different alarms.

MORNING OF:

5. At 5:50 have your disney room reservation number available and ready to type in

6. Goto the 'old site' / british site at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/en_GB/

7. DO NOT browse through the site. DO NOT click on 'My Reservations' - when I did this, it brought me back to the NEW site and I had to clear my cache in order to get back to the 'old site'

8. at 6am on the dot (if you go earlier it will let you select a date, but "Search for a Table" will be greyed out, so just wait until 5:59am) Go STRAIGHT to "Where to Eat" and click on "Make Dining Reservations"

9. Click on the date you are interested in and type in the restaurant you want, as well as the number of guests. As soon as you do, it will tell you it's over 180 days, and ask you to log in to make 180+. At this time, type in the name on your account, your check in date and your room confirmation number.

When you do, it will THEN search for your table and show the available times +/- 2 hours (I belive its 2 hrs).

10. Write down ALL your confirmations numbers and times as you receive them!!!

11. TIP: If you have an odd numbered party (like 5 people), it might show no available times. I've learned that as soon as tables for five are filled, they will show that there are no ressies, but try searching for 6. Or if there are three of you, search for four. FIRST try your exact number, but if that doesn't work, try for your party +1 and see. Most of my ADRs were fine for the party of 5, but when I typed in for BOG nothing came up. Once I typed in for 6 people, I had four or five time choices and was able to get an ADR.

12. Repeat for the rest of your ADRs. If you find that you can't get some of your preferred ADRs, make alternate ADRs but then call at 7am and see if a CM can help you get your first choices!

13. At 7am EST, you can call to make any BBB or Pirates League ressies, or ask a CM to help you with the ADRs you had trouble with.

14. If the ADRs you wanted STILL aren't available, check back often, be persistant, and check the cancellation posts here in Dis for a heads up when others might be cancelling a reservation.

15. Log into the NEW site www.disneyworld.com and see if your ADRs show up (mine did!!!) if not, you can manually link them by typing in your confirmation number.

GOOD luck and thanks to all the Dis-ers and Liners who helped me succesfully make my ADRs!!

I just wanted to say Great Post! I made our ADR's yesterday and was mostly successful, but I spent a lot of time on the boards the week before trying to figure out what is working. I wish was able to read this first, I would have saved a lot of time!

Great post! I did all of those, too, and was able to get all of my ADR's. But I do have two additional suggestions....

1) for some reason, even years later, this problem persists. If you want to book a Fantasmic dining package, you need to erase the search date completely and enter the date you want manually. The calendar on the page didn't go past April and when I only changed the month and date, it reverts back to the current date. When I finally remembered the trick from two years ago, I got an ADR, but not really the one that I wanted. So....

2) always try calling for a better ADR. Online, there was only one time listed as available all day. After waiting 59 minutes (left phone on speaker and went about my day), I had my choice of several reservation times.

And thanks again to whoever shared the link to the old site!!

Our arrival day is Oct 6, too. Had technical difficulties with the UK site and missed out on BOG (wasn't too excited about it, anyway) but I did get an 8:10 Crystal Palace breakfast (wanted 8:05, but 8:10 is pretty darn close!) and everything else I wanted was spot on.

Thank you for this!
Being from Canada, we don't have access to the new My Disney experience site (although it might be a blessing in disguise from what I'm reading...) and I've been trying to get an ADR for a Fantasmic Diner package but the calendar won't show dates further than April :confused3
I even called yesterday evening and the CM looked and told me everything was sold out for my date (08/04). Since I didn't believe this and thought that his system was the same I was trying to use, I searched again here and I found your post :woohoo:
I was able to book my F! package for my date by doing exactly what you said : enter the date manually! :yay:
Thanks again!
The Dis rocks :cool1:

thanks!! with the new site being such a headache for everyone, it's nice to know there are ways around it. So much great information here!!

Just wanted to share!!!

We are a party of three and had no luck getting into BOG.

I put in 4 Guests instead, as suggested, and basically had my choice of dinner times!!! WHOA!

THIS WORKS!

Now... when it comes closer to time, do I just call to change it to 3?? Will I get penalized or possibly lose the ressie over it?

Great suggestions, particularly having your desired ADRs in priority order and ready to go. One other thing we did to try to improve our odds of getting harder to book restaurants was to book them near the end of our trip -- the idea being that the later they are in your trip, the fewer people have already had a chance to book that date in their 180+10 window. We got a 6:00 BOG ADR on our last night at WDW (6/13). I can't be sure we wouldn't have gotten it on another night, but my guess is it would have been less likely.

No. I had to modify two reservations last December from 3 to 2, and I had no problems :thumbsup2

OP, thanks for all the tips. I've got to make our ADRs on the 30th, and now I'm feeling more confident.

Congrats! I wouldn't even worry about modifying it. I did this for several ressies when my parents came to visit and I couldn't find a table for 3. When we checked in, we just told the person there would just be 3 of us instead of 4. No problems at all - since we were seated at a 4-top table anyway :goodvibes

You aren't penalized for having fewer people in your party... last trip we had reservations for 3 to CRT and DH decided he really wanted to golf that day. When I called to ask about changing it, the CM said its safer to to just check in and let them know... she was worried modifying the reservation could accidentally lose it and she said it was no big deal to do it at check in.

Thanks for posting this info! I make my ADRs on 5/7 and already getting nervous over getting BOG & 'Ohana.

Thank you so much for taking the time to put all these wonderful tips on here for everyone to use. I woke up this morning at 3:50am Colorado time with credit card in hand made not one but 2 Be Our Guest adrs for dinner. We are going to be staying at BCV for 13 days so I did one adr early in week one and one adr at about 10 day mark of second week. I was so happy I couldn't get back to sleep. This afternoon when I got home from work at 2:30 Colorado time - so 4:30pm florida, I just had to check and wouldn't you know it both dates with almost exact times were still coming up to book. I know that I didn't want to risk it but wanted to let everyone know that it is possible to get in !!!

Again, thank you so much for the tips- I followed everything exactally and it was perfect ! pixiedust:

I am so upset!! LOL I had to book through Jetblue Getaways (long sad story) and the reservation number I have for the resort isnt valid for dining reservation purposes...its only 6 digits long...

Arg....going to try without a resort reservation....maybe I will get lucky!
